This is a great example of how animals use pressure and release to teach each other. The baby elephant needs to learn but the mama elephant knows the baby shouldn't be scolded but taught. She uses her trunk to put general but meaningful pressure on her baby to say move away. The baby doesn't want to listen so she stays calm and consistent and keeps giving the same information by continuing to use pressure to say you need to move away. She does this until her persistence is heard by her baby and finally baby listens and mama uses pressure to guide the baby where it belongs and then all the pressure stops. Mama knew what she needed to teach her baby and she allowed her baby to make it's own decision to ignore or to listen but the lesson didn't stop until the baby decided to listen. This is beautiful and meaningful training. It's also the correct way to use pressure and release to teach.

This class was so good. These clients impress me so much I was in tears. They work so hard to learn and be the best handlers/trainers they can be for their dogs. None of these dogs are naturally easy or obedient to training dogs. They put in the work to make their dogs look this good and easy.

Fascinating

Stress - I don't know the content of this but the lip lick shows stress.

Communication - get back that bag is mine. Do u see it look at the bag lol thats called being clear. Look at the adult dog watching. No need to get involved this conversation is going just fine. Look how the other puppy backs off. That's called listening skills.

Communication - get back!

Communication not aggression ... that's a conversation no one wants to have to supervise but do you see that it's communication?

This videos cute but it's hard not to look at the training aspect lol

Well this dog clearly learned what's wrong means quiet.

Walter's not a command

Beautifully done! Dogs intentions are made through body language and energy.

If this is the message your dog is getting your training them wrong. Treats should be associated with quiet not barking....

If this is the message your dog is getting your training them wrong. Treats should be associated with quiet not barking. It's very easy to train the wrong thing if you don't understand the principles of training. That's why I spend so much time training my human clients.

Not listening to body language is why people get bit. Stiff body, paws out, lip licking, low growl, whites of eyes.

Train your dog! Don't just label them (he's proactive, reactive, friendly) it doesn't matter what they are it's your job to teach them how to behave in all situations and it's your job to make sure others are safe around your dog and they feel safe around others. You should never be 10 steps behind your dogs decision. You should be 10 thoughts ahead. That is taught from you not through them. Also, your dogs name is not a command.
