We are a small family farm that is focused on implementing small scale sustainable agriculture. Our focus is three areas: Chestnuts, Pastured Pork and Free Range Duck and Chicken Eggs.

We are renting a registered Katahdin ram for a month.

Look how HUGE he is!! He's about a head taller than the rest of the sheep 🤠🐏🐑

Just submitted out TAEP (Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program) Application B (Application A already turned in).

Can't wait to hopefully get some big new projects underway for next year!

Will update when we know if we were selected for any projects. Likely in january!

Straight run day old chick availability this week and October 22nd!

Why Fall chicks?? They are better in many ways than spring chicks.

It's not as cold so you can take out of brooder sooner.

They will start laying in spring when warms up, all those spring chicks are starting to lay now but they will lay way less/none over winter without extra lighting to trick them to lay more.

$2.50 per chick.

Also we have plenty of pasture eggs!

Currently $4 a dozen but prices will be increasing once we have fully transitioned to organic feed (they are getting half and half non gmo no soy feed at the moment).

Good friend let us come and forage Jewelweed yesterday.

We have 2 quarts of infused oil that will be salve in a couple weeks. And we made 2 crockpots of "tea". We are now making jewelweed soap with lye and our pastured lard.

We have so much "tea" we will be freezing it for future uses too.

Keep following us for future offerings of jewelweed soap, jewelweed salve, and other salves!

PORK RESTOCK!

These won't last long! And this is our last round of hogs for this year and probably for the foreseeable future.

All hogs were completely on pasture supplemented non gmo no soy feed. They had no V@x or antibiotics.

All sausage is made with sugar free seasoning (PS 117 if you want to look it up).

Fresh Bratwurst also being made buy not finished yet.

Our first farmers market was a bit of a bust. But hopefully future weeks will be better!

We have hand painted cards and bookmarks by the lovely Adelaide.

More sheeeeep! Part of the deal with the kids for selling the cows was to get more sheep (and to try to milk sheep...that bit remains to be seen).

Today we bought most of someone else's sheep herd. Funny enough, they are switching to cattle.

The girls are over the moon picking which are "theirs" and naming them

Mulching the orchard to the slow the competition around the trees, help the soil retain moisture and add organic material to build the soil. We're very happy that this old repurposed silage wagon is working so well.
