Effective November 6, 2023 our lobby and unleashed hours will change due to Daylight Savings Time. The new hours will be 7:00AM to 6:00PM.

We know this can cause some inconvenience, however, we must keep our pups and employees safe and not operating in the dark.

Playful Pawz Clients,

I wanted to ensure that everyone with reservations for the holidays are up to date on our holiday hours.

For Thanksgiving: We will be open on Wednesday, November 23, from 7AM to 4PM only. So please be sure that you have dropped off your dog(s) by 4PM at the latest. We will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

For Christmas: Christmas Eve this year falls on a Saturday where our normal hours are 9AM to 4PM. However, our hours are changing on that day from 7AM to 12PM for lodging drop offs and pickups only. There will be NO drop offs for Unleashed play that day. This allows my staff to make and enjoy their holiday plans.

Bather/Brusher’s primary duties are to properly prepare, bathe and finish dogs or prepare them for the Groomer by using humane practices while minimizing stress. Additionally, the Bather/Brusher is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the grooming areas. Resort Counselors may be cross trained in Bather/Brusher procedures. Bathers/Brushers are trained by and report to the Groomer.

Primary Duties

Prepare dogs for bathing:
Brush out dog with proper tools
Trim/grind nails
Clean ears
Perform bathing duties as requested by client and described on the groom card:
Trim/grind nails
Teeth brushing
Brush-out
Bath
Express a**l glands
Dry dogs completely either by hand towel, hand dryer or the cage dryer, depending on the temperament of the pet.
Finish dogs as requested by the client
For bath only dogs, communicate with Guest Services when the dog is ready for pick up.
Walk dogs that are kept in the grooming area as needed or requested by Groomer
Ensure bathing stations are stocked with supplies and communicate restocking needs to the Groomer.
Ensure the bathers area is kept clean at all times.
Wipe up water spills or potty accidents immediately.
At the end of shift, vacuum all hair from the floor and ensure hair has been removed from tub drains.
Clean cage dryers and holding cages at the end of each day and as necessary throughout the day.
Follow safety procedures for dogs and staff at all times. Ask for assistance when a dog is stressed, difficult to manage or showing any signs of injury.

Preparation, distribution, and charting of all feeding activity.
Administration and charting of all medications.
Performing add-on services purchased by clients.
Cleaning and maintenance of building facilities and surrounding grounds.
Performing and documenting health checks of all incoming guests.
Gathering and documenting all belongings for departing dogs.
This position will have rotating duties as assigned daily and will report to the Resort Manager.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED preferred.
Understanding of canine language preferred.
Be able to withstand most climate conditions, but no extreme climate conditions.
Be able to stand long periods of time.
Ability to work with all dog breeds.
Good oral communication skills.
Previous work experience in the animal care industry demonstrating dependability.
Self-motivated, independent worker, and ability to work in a team environment.
Proven ability to follow instructions and learn new things

When you come by we have a very large pumpkin in the lobby. Enter the contest by guessing the weight. Whoever comes closest without going over will win $200 in services!! We will announce the winner November 1.

Effective October 1, 2022 our boarding prices will increase. The resort suites will be $58 per night and the standard suites will be $43 per night. The increase represents a $3 per night increase on either type of accommodation.

Full Day $35
Half Day (5 hours or less) $25
Pricing for packages will be priced accordingly.

Effective May 1, 2022 Playful Pawz will no longer offer Subscription Packages for unleashed play. This is due to rising operational and staffing costs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This does not apply to punch cards. We will always offer multiple day packages as we have always done.

IMPORTANT!!!!
Effective Monday, February 1st, Playful Pawz will be going back to regular hours closing at 6:30pm Monday thru Friday. All other hours will remain the same.
