🐾 Have You Checked Your Pet's Teeth? 🐾

Did you know plaque can develop on your pet's teeth as early as age 2? This may lead to gingivitis and, if untreated, periodontal disease.

⚠ Watch for these signs:

-Red, bleeding gums
-Loose or missing teeth
-Bad breath (halitosis)
-Decreased appetite or weight loss
-Reluctance to chew hard food or toys
-Drooling or chewing on one side only

Getting a dog to swallow a pill can be a bit tricky, but with patience and the right approach, it’s definitely manageable.🐾
One effective method is to hide the pill in a treat your dog loves, such as peanut butter, cheese, or a slice of deli meat.🧀
You can also use commercial pill pockets, which are designed to conceal the pill and make it more appealing.
If your dog is too savvy to accept the pill disguised in food, you can try gently holding their mouth closed after placing the pill at the back of their throat and giving them a gentle blow on the nose to encourage swallowing.🐱
Always follow up with praise and a reward to make the experience positive. If these methods don’t work, consult your vet, who may suggest alternative ways.💙🐾

Ear mites are tiny mites, barely visible to the human eye, that live on the surface of the ear canal in cats. They are barely visible to the human eye. An infestation produces brownish ear wax, similar in appearance to coffee grounds. Ear mites are contagious and can travel from the ears of an infected cat to any other cats in close contact! Cats who are infected with ear mites typically have very itchy and irritated ears and frequently scratch at their ears or shake their heads. Ear mites can be successfully treated with a number of medications. Because ear mites are contagious, all pets in the household should be treated. Ear mites are not generally considered a risk to humans.
