I have also bred, trained and shown German Shepherds and Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen to AKC and Canadian championships in the past. I have experience in all breeds plus cats, guinia pigs, ferrets, and has even sheared sheep! I have learned many techniques through the dog showing and veterinary experience to help make your pet as comfortable and attractive as possible. I offer professional all-bre
ed pet grooming including cats, (and the occasional guinia pig!). I strongly recommend that you start your pet going to the groomers at an early age both to make him/her comfortable and accustomed to being handled by strangers and also to keep them clean, neat, and smelling "socially acceptable". I can give you tips on how to keep them at their best at home between appointments. On the occasion when too much is going on and your pet's coat "gets away from you and gets matted,I can help. Being matted doesn't necessarily mean having to be shaved, shorter yes but with style. I can discuss possibilities and your preferences with you. Why groom cats? Don't they groom themselves? Yes cats are very clean animals, however sometimes they need a little help. Especially the long coated varieties such as Persians and Himalayans. This coat mats very easily especially when the cat is shedding or possbily has a skin problem, and they can become so matted they resemble a turtle with a hard shell. Regular professional grooming compounded with grooming at home can help with this problem and keep your cat at his/her best. My dog/cat has short hair, what benefits would they recieve from professional grooming? All dogs and cats shed periodically throughout the year. A good grooming helps loosen the dead har, and gets the skin recirculating, and makes them smell better to be around. Also nail trimming is very important to have done frequently along with cleaning the ears. At this time any potential skin or ear problems which may be forming can be noticed. All groomings include:
Cleansing bath
Nail trimming
Ear cleaning
Brushout
Appropriate trimming and/or clipping. I strongly suggest that any pet brought in for grooming be current on all vaccinations. Any medical problems noticed during the grooming will be brought to the owner's attention and recommendations will be made to the owner on file.
