Abandoned as tiny kittens, Bernie and Brighton have spent their young lives in a shelter, overlooked by potential adopters.

Wanting to give them a better chance, we partnered with the shelter to bring them into foster care, where they could start to learn what it feels like to be loved and cared for while they continue their search for a forever family.

These bonded siblings have never given up hope, and now they’re beginning to blossom. Bernie and Brighton are super playful (especially at night—our kitty cams capture their adorable antics!) and incredibly food-motivated, which has been the key to winning them over. In just two short months in their foster home, they’ve gone from cowering in the corner at the sight of another human to tolerating affection while eating Churro treats and coming out from under the bed to yell at their foster human when it’s time for dinner. They’re slowly but surely learning that humans are their friends, and with patience and love, they’re starting to trust.

Currently living with a mellow chocolate lab, they’re doing wonderfully and have proven to get along great with other cats too. Now, they’re ready to find a quiet, patient home where someone is willing to invest the time to fully earn their trust.

Sheba can’t see, but her bravery inspires her shy brother, Bandit, every day. These two are looking for a forever home together, will you open your heart and home to them?

Four years ago, Sheba and Bandit came into our rescue from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Sheba, the brave and curious sister, was born with underdeveloped eyes, which needed to be removed for her health and comfort. Now completely blind, she’s still the first to explore—confident and curious about the world around her.

You might think the blind one would be the timid one, but it’s actually her brother, Bandit, who relies on Sheba for reassurance. Bandit is a sweet but cautious soul who looks to his fearless sister for comfort and guidance. Their bond is incredible—they are inseparable and bring out the best in each other.

These two sweethearts had been in a loving home, but sadly, their mom recently found herself in an unsafe situation and was forced to relocate without them. It broke her heart, but now Sheba and Bandit are back in our care, and we’re determined to find them the perfect forever home together.

These two left such an imprint on my heart that I’ve stayed in touch with them over the years, receiving updates from their mom at least once a year. They are truly special, and I know they will leave that same lasting impression on their next family too.

They are looking for a calm, loving home where their unique connection can thrive. Sheba’s blindness doesn’t slow her down, and with patience and love, Bandit will feel safe and secure.

MEET MAISY 🐶

Maisy is a sweet and loving 10-year-old West Highland terrier whose world has been turned upside down when her elderly mom’s health declined and she could no longer care for her, leaving Maisy without the home and love she’s always known.

Despite her heartbreak, Maisy’s spirit shines. Maisy is wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids and has so much love to give. She doesn’t act her age—Maisy enjoys long walks, the beach, the snow, romping around in the yard (see video in comments) and cuddles with anyone lucky enough to meet her. She greets everyone with a wagging tail and warm heart, even as she searches for a place to call home again.

She’s in excellent health—recent blood work shows no concerns—and she’s ready to bring joy and love to her new family.

Maisy deserves to spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and companionship. Could you be the family to give her the happy ending she longs for?
