Today, on World Veterinary Day, we extend our gratitude and appreciation for our two great veterinarians. Their dedication, expertise, and compassion ensure the health and well-being of the animals every day. We are very fortunate to have 2 great doctors at our location - Dr. Chris Bern – Chief of Staff Doctor of Veterinary Medicine & Dr. LeeAnn Manders – Associate DVM. Thank you both for everything that you do!
Dr. Bern grew up in North Carolina and is a 1997 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He also has a Master’s in Ethology from the University of Tennessee. He moved to Georgia in 2006 and now considers Northern Georgia his home. Though well versed in all aspects of small animal medicine, he has special interests in behavior, soft tissue surgery, and exotic pets. Teaching and client education are also passions of his. He shares his home with his wife, two children, three dogs, and three cats. Outside of being a vet, he participates in local community theatre, is a Disney aficionado, and has a strong interest in comic books, science fiction, and fantasy genres. He and his wife also dress in costume for sci-fi conventions and renaissance fairs.
Dr. Manders is a Georgia native who grew up in Douglasville. She is a 2023 graduate of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also has a Master’s in biology from the University of West Georgia. She has a passion for small animal medicine with specific interests in dentistry, nutrition to treat disease, and soft tissue surgery. She also enjoys seeing exotic pets. She shares her home with her two small rescue dogs. During her free time, she enjoys kayaking, swimming, reading, and binge watching her favorite TV shows.
