It's not a breeding season without hatching some little Uromastyx chunks. Here are some freshly hatched/hatching Uromastyx ocellata.

One of our Uromastyx ocellata we produced back in 2017. We kept three siblings from this clutch I believe two are males and one is a female. This particular one is the darkest of the three, he has the deep blueish color and almost brick red/orange banding down his back. In general I love the white spots on ocellata it really pops on the exceptionally colored individuals. This species in my experience is very out going and very personable much like Uromastyx ornata.

One of our male Ornate Uromastyx (Uromastyx ornate). We got this male and a female from @aridsonly who produces amazing Ornata (and every other species he keeps) every single year.

Here's another holdback Moroccan Uromastyx (uromastyx nigriventris) that we are super excited about. This one isn't a sibling to the Moroccan in the last reel but WOW the oranges and yellows are coming in nice!
You can see it definitely almost jumped away too....

One of our holdback Moroccan Uromastyx (uromastyx nigriventris) starting to really come into its own. The oranges on this one are amazing. Not shown in this video is that this particular animal has a very clean white/cream belly where it's siblings have black and orange striping (a nerdy observation).

This beauty has come so far. When I first received this Orange Banded back in 2018 he was tiny and incredibly shy. In fact this particular animal was notoriously shy, when he was a juvenile I would put food in his enclosure and come back a couple hours later to make sure the food has disappeared... Hopefully from him eating it. It took him close to 3 years to finally stay out from his hide when I entered the room, and just last year he has started letting me hand feed him which is a huge break through. He tolerates me handling him when I let him rest on my hand but I try not to restraint/grab him. I rarely take him out to "hold" him, it's either taking him out for an Instagram reel, a wellness check, or enclosure cleaning day.
I say all this to share my experience with this particular animal, that patience goes along way when trying to build trust with any Uromastyx (or animal in general). Uromastyx are long lived lizards that are very intelligent, so when they are juvenile/ hatchlings they know they are small and vulnerable. Needless to say they have very strong survival instincts. Sometimes you have to be pretty patient with a younger Uromastyx until they gain some confidence and most importantly start to trust you.

The Uromastyx herd enjoying some orchard grass hay. It's funny hearing them munching on the individual blades.

One of our holdback Uromastyx ocellata doing work on some dandelion greens. This individual is incredibly bold always greeting us looking for food.
