It’s important to us to create a home environment so we don’t kennel our rescues. This helps us know what they

need from a home environment, so they can find a forever home. Thank you to our donors, adopters, or fosters for giving all dogs a fair chance at a happy life because all days should be Dog Days!

Please help us understand why June is still available?! She's small, she's scruffy, she's a good girl. All she needs is a home of her own.

Luna check in!

While we're working on her physical healing, Luna is showing us that she has some emotional healing to do as well.

She is showing signs of separation anxiety. Not extreme thankfully but not great either. Anyone who suffers from anxiety can tell you how terrible a feeling it is.

The plan is currently to work on getting her more comfortable being alone or in another room with behavior modification techniques (positive reinforcement only!).

If that isn't enough we'll discuss adding something to help her take the edge off while continuing to work with her.

That said, she's a sweet and goofy girl otherwise! She enjoys hanging out with her foster family. She'll meet the resident dog in a few more days when we know she's not going to surprise us with kennel cough or anybody contagious.

We'll continue to update here as she progresses.

Please consider a year end donation so that we can continue to save dogs like Luna!

There are 16 days left of 2025 and we need to get our vet bills caught by then. We're also in need of preventatives, toys, bones, medications for the seniors, etc. It's time to pay for our rescue and business license renewals as well as things like registration for our trailer that we use for events and things.

Here is our end of year fundraiser. We need to raise at least $9,500 to move into 2026 and continue saving so many special dogs in need.

If you can donate a couple of dollars, that would help tremendously, it really does ALL add up!

Here's our donation link, it's fee free so we don't get eaten up with fees. There's an option after the donation amount to donate to Zeffy to assist with keeping the platform free for non profits by you can change the amount to 0 and it's completely OK.

All donations are as always.

Thank you for being a part of our and helping us help so many amazing dogs! We can't do it without you!

At Dog Days Rescue, we know that change starts with people like you. People who support our mission too save dogs who are in the most need. With your generous donation toward our goal of $10,500 we'll catch up on our current vet bills and needs of the current dogs in our care so that we can look to....

This sweet girl is our final rescue of 2025. We hadn't planned to take in anyone else until our vet bills were caught up but when we were asked to take this angel something wouldn't let us say no and since an amazing foster stepped up, well, welcome to Dog Days sweetheart!

Luna had been at the shelter longer than any other dog there and was on the euthanasia list because of it. Not because she was mean, not because she was deathly ill but because she been overlooked time and time again and the shelter was out of space.

Luna, her shelter name, is what I would call the "perfect" example of a homeless dog, someone's backyard dog. We picked her up and went straight to our partner vet after smelling her. It was quite obvious that she was suffering from mange and a secondary skin infection. We also discovered she has. Bilateral ear infections.

Medications have been started as well as bloodwork sent out and she'll get a proper exam after she decompresses. We hope to have results from the bloodwork today, if not Monday.

She's been a little anxious but she had a very big day yesterday! She's settled into her foster home now and starting on the path to healing.

Huge thanks to Bonnie U. For the wishlist surprise!

The dogs are always in need of something and the box included a little of everything (bag of beef knees not shown, we were out and the dogs were ready for one as soon as they saw the bag!), some necessities and some yummy treats!

The chow puppies, Red and Pixie, got a spa day today with groomer Morgan.

They did great, we've set the groundwork for them to be used to nail trims, baths and grooming and it was great to see that it paid off! It's so important to start your babies as soon as possible. Your groomer will thank you!

Red and Pixie are the last of the litter available for adoption. If you're interested in possibly adopting one of them please visit our website to fill out an adoption application.

If you'd like to donate a dollar or two toward grooming costs that would be greatly appreciated as well!

June had another follow up be visit to get new bloodwork and wellness exam to see how she's recovering from the horrible condition she was returned to us in.

We've worked diligently giving meds, medicated baths, fluid flushes and everything else that could possibly help (but not hurt) sweet June.

That work has finally paid off! He skin and coat are a million times better and back to a healthy condition. You can see those beautiful bright eyes are no longer filled with puss. To top it off, her bloodwork is back to normal ranges!

What does all of this mean? June is ready to find a family who will love and cherish her like she deserves. A family who will fill her with new memories of fun, love and proper care.

June's birthday is estimated to be March 15, 2023, making her 2 years and 9 months old. She's energetic, playful, good with other dogs and cats, crate trained and potty trained when kept on schedule.

She knows sit and stay and is eager to learn much more. She's a quick study and agile, maybe she's the next America's Got Talent winner? ;)

June will need to be in a home with a fenced yard and no small children due to her energy level. She'd love someone active to take her for long walks on the beach, moonlit adventures and other fun activities between cuddle times.

If you would be interested in becoming a part of June's life, please complete an adoption application on our website (www.dogdaysrescue.org)

For those who may not know, the goal of this unique and special day is to “create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond the day, and touches every person on the planet.” For dog rescue, this is an especially important day because as a 501(C)3, we rely on donations to continue the work that we do. This year, we are fortunate to have a $1000 match which means that any donations received up to $1000 will automatically be doubled.

Like many other rescues, we too are short on fosters and money is tighter than ever, but we continue to do what we can. 2025 has been yet another year of saves. From a severely neglected Doodle with eye issues, to a Terrier with toxcicity poisoning, not to mention a litter of ringworm puppies, the vet bills have inevitably added up quickly. Surgeries, bloodwork, dentals, neuter/spays, check-ups, shots and medication all make for a hefty tab. This is why we rely on help through donations to cover these costs, which in turn allows us to continue our mission of saving more dogs.
Our passion is to help the ones who need us the most. Dogs like Will (the Doodle who was intentionally set on fire and suffered massive burns), April (the dog who was completely paralyzed from the neck down from essential oil poisoning) and Baron (the dog whose collar was so deeply embedded into his neck, that his head’s stability was compromised). There was also Charlie (with constant seizures), Hollis (with Oral Melanoma), Jimmy (a broken jaw), Percy (with acid burns) and Twyla (a hospice case with underdeveloped kidneys).

Rescue is a tough business. To save a dog and find them the perfect family is no doubt the best feeling ever… but with these saves also comes occasional loss. Sadly, for some, it is too late by the time they come into our care. For these babies, we offer love, compassion and comfort for however long we are blessed with them. Every dog deserves dignity and compassion after all.

We know that times are tough right now and finding a few dollars to spare isn’t always easy. However, please know that every dollar helps. Even a dollar or two from multiple donors can add up to an impact way greater than one may imagine. We would like to also take this opportunity to thank you for your support and generosity. Whether you’re a silent follower or an active participant/donor, we greatly appreciate you. The saying “it takes a village” is very real for rescue, and we certainly could not do what we do without our village. Thank you in advance for considering making a donation on this very special day. We are very excited to see what dogs we can help in 2026!

A fee free link to donate is in the comments. Zelle, paypal and venmo are still available as well as the donate button on this post.

Baby Blue and Big Red are still looking for their forever homes. Our boys are sweet, fluffy, playful and ready for their very own families.

The girls always get more attention than boys no matter the breed sadly. Pixie is still with us as well but we are still going through a few applications for her. We are still accepting applications for her as well.

Meet and greets are scheduled after approved applications.
Applications can be found on our website. www.dogdaysrescue.org

Good morning everyone. We have an update on our little terrier baby. It's not much but it's what we have so far. Pictures below are her at 4 months old when she was adopted from us and now, 2 years old. 😞

Her bloodwork is messy. Kidney values, liver values, even her thyroid numbers don't look good. Nothing looks good.

Her eyes are filled with puss. A condition called Uveitis which can be caused by a number of different things. It's uncomfortable at best, painful and can cause permanent blindness at worst.

We are treating her with a daily fluid flush, eye ointment, antibiotics and high quality food and supplements. We'll be doing more bloodwork to see if any of her bloodwork has gotten better with the fluid flushing and quality diet. An ultrasound will be done to check for lasting damage. If her bloodwork hasn't gotten better we're going to have to do a lot more for this little love and we're afraid of what that will mean for her life expectancy.

For now, we choose to remain hopeful and give as much love to June as possible. She's so sweet and deserves so much more.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to her ongoing care. If you would like to donate, here are the ways you can;

🚨 EMERGENC/URGENT 🚨
We were contacted by a previous adopter about the baby they adopted from us about 2 years ago, she has possibly invested highly toxic camphor 10 days ago! She's now got a poor appetite, cloudy eyes and issues with her back legs.

They cannot afford to take care of her any longer, out out appears for possibly some time, and are relinquising her back to us.

We don't have the fosters and we certainly don't have the funds but we can't turn our backs on our poor little girl in her time of need after we've made a promise to her. So we're here, asking again for your help.

Please, donate a dollar or two. June needs to get to the vet ASAP to find out what's going on. She's just 2 years old, she left us as a baby. She's going to need bloodwork, xrays and likely ultrasound. Then we need to figure out treatment for whatever is going on. Please, help us help her!
