12/02/2025
For those who may not know, the goal of this unique and special day is to “create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond the day, and touches every person on the planet.” For dog rescue, this is an especially important day because as a 501(C)3, we rely on donations to continue the work that we do. This year, we are fortunate to have a $1000 match which means that any donations received up to $1000 will automatically be doubled.
Like many other rescues, we too are short on fosters and money is tighter than ever, but we continue to do what we can. 2025 has been yet another year of saves. From a severely neglected Doodle with eye issues, to a Terrier with toxcicity poisoning, not to mention a litter of ringworm puppies, the vet bills have inevitably added up quickly. Surgeries, bloodwork, dentals, neuter/spays, check-ups, shots and medication all make for a hefty tab. This is why we rely on help through donations to cover these costs, which in turn allows us to continue our mission of saving more dogs.
Our passion is to help the ones who need us the most. Dogs like Will (the Doodle who was intentionally set on fire and suffered massive burns), April (the dog who was completely paralyzed from the neck down from essential oil poisoning) and Baron (the dog whose collar was so deeply embedded into his neck, that his head’s stability was compromised). There was also Charlie (with constant seizures), Hollis (with Oral Melanoma), Jimmy (a broken jaw), Percy (with acid burns) and Twyla (a hospice case with underdeveloped kidneys).
Rescue is a tough business. To save a dog and find them the perfect family is no doubt the best feeling ever… but with these saves also comes occasional loss. Sadly, for some, it is too late by the time they come into our care. For these babies, we offer love, compassion and comfort for however long we are blessed with them. Every dog deserves dignity and compassion after all.
We know that times are tough right now and finding a few dollars to spare isn’t always easy. However, please know that every dollar helps. Even a dollar or two from multiple donors can add up to an impact way greater than one may imagine. We would like to also take this opportunity to thank you for your support and generosity. Whether you’re a silent follower or an active participant/donor, we greatly appreciate you. The saying “it takes a village” is very real for rescue, and we certainly could not do what we do without our village. Thank you in advance for considering making a donation on this very special day. We are very excited to see what dogs we can help in 2026!
A fee free link to donate is in the comments. Zelle, paypal and venmo are still available as well as the donate button on this post.
