Some tips for folks whose pets don't appreciate fireworks.

Many pets are fearful and anxious when exposed to fireworks: a response may range from a momentary freeze to extreme panic characterized by bolting or escape attempts.

CLGW is our internet provider. They are usually great, but they are down. We have no internet and no phone service until it is back on. We are here from 1:30 to 5:00 Wednesday afternoon. We are hoping for phone service soon.

Dr. Mobley is in the office today, but we are VERY short-staffed (one versus six). We also can't do much about the driveway, so very slick.

I'm looking for an associate veterinarian to join me at my practice. I've been running an extremely successful veterinary clinic in Kennett, Missouri for many years now. We generate over $800,000 every year and have a very established client base.

I'm looking for a bright young person that would ideally be interested in buying my practice after having worked as an associate vet for several years.

A little shout-out to Amazing Anna and Marvelous Meranda for staying so late on Tuesday. The sketch gives you an idea how large Oscar's tumor was before the necrotic part broke open and bled all over the driveway, front porch and exam room floor. An eleven-pound Dachshund can't afford to keep losing blood like that. He looks pretty good post-op.

Oliver's owner says that he ate a piece of a purse strap and vomited it up 2 days ago, but hasn't been eating since. You can see a tiny metallic foreign object on this stomach X-ray. There's a lot of other stuff there, too, for a dog who hasn't eaten in two days. We induced vomiting. And got a lot. And then got a lot more, about a pound of stuff before we finished. He's a finicky eater.... not.

We apologize if you've had trouble getting through on the phones, or getting scheduled. We still have one staff member out on maternity leave, and two are now under quarantine. We're still working, but with half our staff out, it's hard to keep up.

Running just a bit late, 8:30 and not home for supper, but Kobe needed surgery. He was vomiting and his X-ray looked like there might be something in his stomach. Look at the close-up. Then you can see what Tom says is Optimus Prime... and some string, and something else. It was blocking his pylorus. Big surgery.
