Testing Stays
Here we are rolling a tennis ball to challenge the dogs in their stays during an Advanced Home Obedience class. Our goals in Advanced Home Obedience is to challenge the dogs appropriately. We're not always able to do this in class, but we love when we can!
We have 4 Advanced Home Obedience classes starting in July. If you've taken Beginning Home Obedience and are looking for the next step, sign up here - https://familydogonline.dogbizpro.com/public/registration/index.aspx?cat=24

Congratulations to Tammi and her aussie Jasper for completing Advanced Home Obedience tonight. For their graduation they got to run a mini agility course.
They are going to be a great agility team in 2017! Can't wait to see them in more classes! -Jayne B
Cleaning up
Who says bad weather keeps us from training! Be creative. Teach your dog a trick, or to clean up after themselves! - Diana D & Piper
Scent discrimination in competition obedience class. Yes, Amy Trotter, does this exercise, too!
A lot of my students hike and enjoy outdoor activities with their dogs and want to be able to trust their dogs off leash. I talk a lot about the importance of foundation work on leash and on the long line. Adding as many distractions to their long line work, being clear and consistent with commands and no Nagging. This is one of our Ridgebacks, Leroy. He is a multiple Best In Field winner and has an incredibly strong prey drive. Leroy and my husband were out yesterday when they had a very close encounter with a bear. Although this video has been shortened, the encounter lasted over a minute. Keep watching, you will see Leroy. (We have different commands for our dogs when on horseback, than we do when we are working obedience on foot.) - Isabela
