ADOPTION PENDING

10 year old Faith is a tender-hearted lady who is dreaming of her forever family. She is a 13 pound chiweenie (chihuahua-dachshund mix). Her favorite thing to do is nap on the couch under a pile of blankets. Faith would be a wonderful addition to a home that has a calm and quiet environment. She will also be happiest in a home where her people are not gone for a long work day. Faith is a mellow girl who enjoys walks around her neighborhood and, since she should lose a couple of pounds, that is a good thing. This sweetheart is a bit of a homebody and she is always happy to return back to the house after her outings.

Faith has lived with other dogs and is very friendly with other dogs that she has met along the way. Her history with cats is unknown but she is very respectful so it is believed she would be fine with them. Because of the quick and unpredictable nature of young children her rescuers are asking for a home without children under 12 years of age.

Faith's foster family has taught her proper potty manners. Any adopter should be prepared to continue with this during Faith's adjustment into her new home.

Faith is posted for Save-A-Mutt. She is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Faith, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

He is so unique looking! Obie is a cross post for our friends at Save-A-Mutt.

Obie is a sweet boy with an amazing smile and he is ready to be someone’s cherished friend. This 9 year old young senior weighs 84 pounds. Obie is gentle and affectionate and he is a friend to everyone he meets. Obie is a champion lounger and enjoys a soft, cozy bed right next to his people. He would love a family that is willing to include him in their family adventures. This boy is ready to go!

Obie has decided that, although he is a gentleman when meeting other dogs while on walks, he does not want to share his home with them. Obie has displayed some prey drive, therefore, his rescuers are asking for a home without cats. Because of Obie's size and happy nature he could knock over small children therefore he needs a home without children under 10 years of age.

Obie is posted for Save-A-Mutt. He is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Obie, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630

Old dog haven HOME FOUND

Friends, Will you please hit your share buttons for this nice boy? We have not found a home to send him to yet and we really want to!

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME FOUND
(in W. Washington state or Portland, OR)

"Sunday" is a Chihuahua mix, not-yet-neutered male who weighs 13 pounds. This really cute nice guy is very perky but has issues: He is cryptorchid so will need a bit longer surgery to neuter, he has a big heart murmur so may need a cardiology consult before anesthesia, and he may have some ear problems as well. He did fine meeting a new dog at the shelter, accepted her correction well, and is very nice to handle. He would be best with female dogs only (since it likely will be a bit before he can be neutered); he needs to get out of the shelter to get started!

Here is where you can learn more about how to apply to become an Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home. https://olddoghaven.org/how-to-help/fostering/

A Final Refuge home is a permanent foster home, or as we also say a forever foster home. This means Sunday would stay with you for the rest of his life and our organization will pay all vet bills.

Copied from a friend …

I am a registered organ donor (family pay attention). If my brain has died, I’m done with my body. Throw a Party! Drink all the Juice, play the music loud and DANCE!!!! Give my organs to whoever needs them. Whatever still works, is up for grabs. Celebrate ME! I won’t need them. If you’re an organ donor, please copy. I’m curious to see how many of my friends and family are donors.

Old Dog Haven HOME FOUND

This girl needs our help! If you can't foster for Old Dog Haven, you can still help by hitting your share buttons. 🙏🙏

URGENT - PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME FOUND
(in W. Washington or Portland OR only)

Female (not sure if spayed) chihuahua, who weighs 7 pounds. This sweet little girl came into the shelter infested with fleas (treated for that of course) and thus with a severe flea-bite anemia. She was in pretty bad shape but with care and time she should recover. She's eating well and good on walks so hasn't given up at all. She definitely needs a dental when recovered enough and there is a large soft mass on her hip that's not been diagnosed yet. We would really like to get her out of the shelter and started on good care to fix her up.

If you would like to help this sweet old girl (we don't know her age) that the shelter is calling Bianca, she needs you! To join our network of forever foster homes, please read through the link below and contact us. We have MANY dogs on our waitlist!!
All vet bills are covered for the life of the dogs we bring into our care. This is possible because of donations.

Great 4th of July doggie tips from our Obediance class:

The staff at Family Dog Training Center would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day. Please take extra care when it comes to your pets and remember these important last-minute reminders for pet owners:

FIREWORKS: Do not take your dog to fireworks displays. Keep your dog indoors after the heavy fireworks start.

FOOD: Make sure all food and drinks are up and out of reach of your pets. Many BBQ type foods can be harmful and toxic to your dogs and cats. Let guests know that your dog does NOT need table scraps.

NAP TIME: If friends and family are over, or if you're going to an event with Fido, don't forget a crate, bed or blanket. Allow your dogs plenty of opportunities to get away from the chaos. Place the crate or bed in a quiet room for a perfect retreat. If the weather is warm, place a fan in front of your dog's crate. A radio will help block out the noise so your dog can rest.

IDENTIFICATION: Make sure your dog is microchipped (contact your vet) and there are current ID tags attached to your dog's collar. Clear photos of your dog (both sides, front and head close-up) can help with publicity in the event your dog does become lost. (Way too many pets run away on the 4th of July and are never reunited with their loved ones.)

EARLY BEDTIME: Exercise your dog's mind and body early in the day. Give your dog his dinner late afternoon. Keep him on leash (even in your fenced yard) for potty breaks, then make it an early evening.

Place Fido's crate or bed in a room where you can cover the windows from the flashing lights. Use a fan/AC and radio or TV to help drown out the noise from outside.

THE DAY AFTER: Be sure to walk your yard before allowing Fido out in the morning. Pick up all litter from fireworks that have landed in your yard. Scraps of paper and bits of plastic are choking hazards and may still contain toxic chemicals. Check your fence and gates, just in case someone else's dog tried to get into your yard overnight.

ADOPTED

Celebrating her 13th birthday in rescue. Chula is ready for her adopter! How is it that this darling girl is still in need? Let's share her again today and hope this is her lucky day!

"Hello! I’m Chula! I’m a spry little old lady who just turned 13! But don’t let that number fool you! I am 1/2 Boston Terrier- 1/2 French Bulldog, they call me a Frenchton! Sweet and loving! I’m a fit 23 lbs due to being an active gal on my walks!

I love walks and appreciate one good walk a day – but two if the weather’s good and my person is up for it. I’d be an excellent walking companion for someone who is active and enjoys walking regularly.

I do spend a bit of time napping in my bed during the day in between outings. I enjoy running around the yard and sunning on nice days, so for me a fenced yard is a priority.

I would prefer to be your one and only as I don’t care much for other dogs-I want to be queen of the castle!

As for cats I have not lived with a cat- I would need to be cat tested. I could possibly live with one cat that is dog savvy. I’m not much interested in children at this point in life. A calmer home is desired.

Overall I am a pretty low maintenance type of gal! Quiet kind of lady- rarely bark unless I’m on bow wow patrol at the window and see a dog! I am told I have impeccable house manners. I know sit, shake and probably have some other tricks I haven’t shared just yet!

I am house trained and crate trained.

I would enjoy a home where someone is working from home or possibly an active retiree that will be able to take me on the walks I so enjoy! Snuggling on the couch with my person, perhaps some pets and a belly rub would be nice! Possibly sleeping in my person's bed if invited. My Foster Mom says I am a pleasure to have around, polite and lovely!

Overall I am a healthy girl-I may have lost a bit of my hearing, but I sure can perk up when I hear the leash and harness jingle or the rustle of the treat bag! I have a bit of a fussy tummy, and I do require prescription food and single ingredient pork treats. But I really love my food AND my favorite pork chips.

I would love a home with my own person, my owner passed away, fortunately the rescue helped me out of the shelter. My owner loved me dearly and was a bit of a little spoiled diva🩷 Well that goes with being a Frenchton!

I am microchipped, spayed, up to date on my vaccinations.

Am I the sidekick you’ve been looking for?"

Chula is posted for the CL Boston Terrier Rescue Foundation in Seattle, WA. If you are interested in learning more about Chula, please inquire via email to [email protected] or [email protected]

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
