Aunt Chili reporting for babysitting duty ๐ซก
Ciri is very affectionate and attentive with her new baby. Such a good Momma! But Chili? This lady is ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. When I open the door to our master bedroom, Chili darts in like a bat out of hell and makes a beeline directly to baby, instinctively wanting to warm & *proteccc* ๐ฅน Ciri seems to enjoy the company too. Some moms would not be as welcoming!
When the time comes, I have no doubt Chili will be a great mom. Just like her sister Ciri ๐
I walk into the nursery for morning rounds and this is the first smiling face I see ๐ฅน

We had ๐๐๐ Third Generation baby born last night! Mom and kitten are both doing fabulous! In the 7 years since starting Cayleeโs C***s, I can officially say we have welcomed our very first ๐บ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฌ๐ป๐ถ๐ต ๐ฅน
A little about this sweet baby: This is the first child of Bane and Ciri ๐ฉ๐ผโโค๏ธโ๐โ๐จ๐ฝ ๐๐๐คโ๐จ ๐พ๐๐ง๐, one might ask? Ciri is formerly Cayleeโs C***s Annie from our Broadway Litter! An INCREDIBLE representation of our program that I just COULD NOT let go of. Of course, by the time I realized this, she had already been chosen by a wonderful waitlisted family. New Mom and Dad were instantly attached (I mean, how could they not be?) So, on she went ๐ฅฒ However, this particular โGoodbyeโ would be much more of a โSee ya later alligatorโ as an exciting agreement was made that Ciri be sent home to enjoy her adolescence under breeding contract! Now here we are, over one year later with a couple crazy โgirls tripsโ under our belt.. and a love child has been born! (To top off the excitement, baby made their grand appearance on the same day that our brother & sister-in-law got married) ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ 24, 2024, what a day ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ฅฐ
Thank you Matthews family for your flexibility and support throughout this whole process. We pulled it off! Your girl is a rockstar! A NATURAL if Iโve ever seen one! Soaking in her very first morning of motherhood as we speak. More updates to come.

Princess Leia, formerly โOpalโ from our Precious Gems litter, is hands down the heart of our home ๐ฅน (in feline form). ๐: Although Basil may appear White to the untrained eye, she actually possesses no white at all! Basil is considered โChinchillaโ or โShellโ. A very fancy way of explaining that her coat has only 12% or 1/8 of the hair shaft colored with the rest being a pale silver. Shell is almost like a pearl, consisting of a solid base color and a subtle, iridescent sheen on the surface (which is caused by their minimal tipping). A couple ways for adopters to better distinguish this difference (without fully understanding detailed lineage) is to be aware that without a kittens parents being White, their direct offspring can not be either. White Maine C***s will also have soft pink noses without dark eyeliner whereas Chinchilla/Shell Maine C***s usually have black, rosy or wine colored noses with a noticeably thick, black eyeliner. Sometimes paired with a dark lip liner, too!
