So sad to hear about Ace. We have confidence the girls will pick it up!! You’re a great teacher!

I had one of these balls from Equi-Spirit Toys & Tools in Ottawa. They are simply THE BEST! I’d had it for at least 10 years and sold it when we left - it’s still going strong with the new owners.

I’d been thinking of novel ways to get my gelding Ace to move around more. He had loved chasing the ball in Ottawa and was very oral. He loved to pick things up and this ball has tabs that allows the horse to do that. I’d ordered it the day before he passed away😢

So yesterday, it arrived. I blew it up and tried to perk up the girls, who are missing their main man. They aren’t convinced yet, but there are so many fun things to do with these balls. I’ll post some updates as they get back to their old selves and are more playful. It will take time.

Hello, this is Kenny Williams, co-creator of Equispirit Toys & Tools.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Lisa Ross Williams as the result of her long battle with cancer that she heroically fought for over six years. Lisa passed away on February 12th, 2023, at home with our animals being able to say goodbye.

As many of you know Lisa and I created Equispirit Toys & Tools because of the play drive of one of our horses, Riley. Having tried many things, we found the need to create a superior play ball for horses, mules, donkeys, cows, dogs, and camels, and even more animals we could have ever imagined. Over the years Lisa and I found so much happiness and joy in all of the moments you shared with photos, videos and funny stories of your experiences. We could truly feel the love for your animals come through with every email, post or video sent through to us and we loved seeing how much fun your best friends were having with the Equispirit experiences you were able to give them.

Her cancer was the reason that we needed to find someone to take over Equispirit and keep the quality and superior customer service at the forefront moving forward. It was a hard decision because we built the company on the love we have to create happiness for all animals and their owners.

I would like to thank Spring and Tiger Tail for maintaining the quality and customer service many of you have come to enjoy over the years and for giving me the opportunity to share this sad news with you personally.

Did you know that Equi-Spirit Toys and Tools has been in business for 18 years all because of a week old orphan foal Lisa and Kenny saved from auction in 2000? That both Kenny and Lisa are veterans USAF? We have no employees; Lisa does all of the processing and paperwork while Kenny packs all the orders with a personal message of thanks.

We so appreciate all of our customers who have stuck with us through the challenges of COVID, Lisa's cancer and the unfortunate long backorder for balls. That support literally saved our 18 year old company.

We, Kenny and I want to reach out and thank our Equi-Spirit customers who have been very patient with us being on back order for quite a while (good news is we will have our stock finally in around May 6th). This all first started with our ball cover sewer only working on essential PPE's through 2020 (our balls were non-essential) so we struggled to find another contract sewer which is not easy as these balls are quite complex with our special patent. Turns out the guy is a shyster and kept missing deadlines over and over as well as lying right to us as to where he was in production. We of course, passed on info to our customers. Thankfully, our previous sewer stepped up and started producing our ball covers again.

A majority of our customers are very understanding, but there were some very nasty people who just could not understand our situation and that we had no control over this at all (not like we can sew covers ourselves). No problem, I cancelled the orders and refunded; they will not be able to reorder in the future as they have been barred from our store.

This COVID issue almost put our 18 year old, veteran-owned company out of business. We are thankful for the people who stood behind us!
