Oates Veterinary Clinic

Oates Veterinary Clinic If you live in Kenton, Ohio or the surrounding central Ohio area, we would love to be your vet! In operation since 1971, Oates Veterinary Clinic, Inc.
(57)

Our doctors and staff are committed to providing you with full service veterinary care for your dogs and cats. originally owned by Dr. Carol Oates and sold to Heartland Veterinary Partners in 2019. OVC welcomes both emergency cases as well as patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Beyond medical care, our goal is to also make our clinic as comfortable, pet-friendly, family

-friendly, and calm as possible. We also offer a full service boarding and grooming facility and offer tours for anyone who is interested. In addition to our medical services, we strongly believe in education: both for ourselves and also for our clients. We are continually learning new techniques, in animal training and behavior, nutrition, and also in medicine and surgery. We love to share our knowledge with clients because we believe that the family is providing the majority of the care, and they need to understand what is happening medically and why we are prescribing the medication. Research on the internet is popular for many now and we don’t disagree that it can be a very useful tool. We can help you find reputable sites with trusted veterinary information so that you can find the information you need. We love the challenge of solving difficult cases not just for the pet but for the family as well. If you require help with a sick pet then please contact us and let us schedule an appointment for a thorough examination. Your pets’ health and well-being are of the utmost importance to us and we will work tirelessly to give your animals the care and attention they deserve. Please review the many services we offer under Our Services . Please contact us at (419) 673-0473 to schedule an appointment or tour of the hospital. We are centrally located within 35 miles of Findlay, Lima, Lakeview, Bellefontaine, Marysville, Upper Sandusky and Marion, Ohio. Travelling east on 67, we are 7 blocks from the Hardin County Courthouse and located next to the Kenton High School football field parking lot. We sincerely look forward to meeting you and your pets!

A couple of Fridays ago, Dr. Kelsey Oakley visited Kenton Preschool and talked to the kids about the importance of taking their pets to the vet. Her dog, Jim Capone, and two goats were also along for the visit. The kids had a great time, and the animals loved all the attention! Thank you, Dr. Oakley!

This kitty came to visit us after a nice client found her. She showed up around July 4th and was pregnant. The client is trying to find a home, or where she came from. She permitted us to share her contact information with anyone who thinks it may be their cat or wishes to give her a home. She was found around Robinson Avenue here in Kenton. Please reach out to (567)305-1336 if you are interested.

**Do not contact the clinic regarding this cat, as we do not have her here.**

On this day in 2010, the Oates Vet Clinic page was started. This was an early selfie that Monica did with one of our fantastic patients. Since 2010, Dr. Monica has managed the FB page. Our FB community is quite strong, and now we also have an Instagram account and also our own clinic YouTube channel.

Many of you have had your pics taken by Monica for our clinic accounts. Thank you for letting us show off our wonderful clients and their awesome pets!

We are very saddened to also have to announce that after 18 years of compassion and loving care for our clients and pets, Dr. Monica Decker will be leaving Oates Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Monica’s last day will be Thursday, October 24th. Monica has always been compassionate, friendly, and loving to both our clients and their pets. Although we do not want to see her leave, we wish her all the best in her new endeavors with Dr. Bill. We request that you help us in showering her with cards, gifts, and kind words, and thanks for all that she has done for us and the community. We will greatly miss Dr. Monica, not to mention her jokes, stories, and dance moves (especially the Michael Jackson moves). Thank you for all of the compassion, expertise, and love you have provided everyone over the years. We love you, Monica, and thank you for being a special part of Oates!
