Penelope – 5 years old, Female- Domestic Shorthair

Meet Penelope!

This black-and-white cat is just five years old and is looking for someone to care for her! She is social with people but timid in new places. She takes time adjusting to new surroundings and should be very slowly introduced to new spaces. Penelope has a history of not getting along with other animals, so she should go to a very calm home with no other animals.

Penelope has moved a lot throughout her life and gets very stressed during them. She's looking for a human who knows how to calm her down and enjoys being with her. She enjoys bonding with people through play, so it's suggested that the adopter has lots of toys, hides, and cat furniture. Once Penelope is adjusted, she'll be your favorite cat! Her bond is strong and ever-rewarding!

Penelope is available for adoption at Humane Society of West Michigan. To learn more about adopting, please visit: www.hswestmi.org

It's hard to leave your pets at home when you have errands to run, but being separated could cause your pet to become overly anxious. It's important to be aware of separation anxiety to help your pet overcome it.

Make sure to schedule an appointment with your VCA veterinarian to discuss how to handle your pet's separation anxiety.

Humane Society Spotlight Cat of the Week:

Pumpkin – 8 years old, Female - Domestic Shorthair

Pumpkin is a sweet and vocal girl looking for her furever home! She's social but timid, so she will need her space to return to when she gets overwhelmed. She loves seeking attention and gets vocal when approached. She loves getting pets and hanging out with her people. Pumpkin would do best in a quiet, laid back home. She has previously lived with other cats and would likely prefer another laid back cat to live with.
Pumpkin is available for adoption at Humane Society of West Michigan. To learn more about adopting, please visit: www.hswestmi.org
