Success story:
I've been working with these 2 German Shepherd rescues, Donner and Blitzen. We have been working on all kinds of skills. Lately, we have worked on being ok not being in the middle of the action. When the owners have people over, the dogs would go crazy. Jumping, not listening, and being wild. We worked on putting a baby gate up to keep the dogs in a room. This would allow them to hear and see things but not be under foot. We worked on this being a positive thing. We worked on the dogs' self calming in this situation.
Well, the owners had a little Christmas get-together and put the 2 pups behind a baby gate in a room. They did AWESOME!! They owners were getting compliments on how well behaved their pups are.
It's stories like this that warm my heart and full my passion.

Worked with Gouda and Jake on being together, in the same space.
We practiced by walking together, doing tricks together, and getting rewarded in a calm state of mind with food, together. We talked about body language, what to look for, when to step in, and how to step in without making it worse for anyone. We talked about the human's energy and how that plays into these situations. Today, I worked with Raven and her people on how to be in public. We talked about what Raven needs so she can behave in public. She is a very high-energy kind of dog, so letting her get some of that out helps her focus. This makes it let frustrating and difficult to go on a walk with her. So today, we did a "stroll", this is where she got to sniff around walking any direction she wanted. This lasted 5ish minutes, then we asked for a "walk." This is where she walks with us, not stopping every 5 minutes or wandering all over the place. Raven did so well after we let her get some energy out.

Olivia got to experience a new part today. We worked on controlling our energy. This is a good behavior to have in multiple situations.
She did so well. She got to play in a stream and walk through the would!

Sunday Fraining Day!
Today, we worked on 'how to act in social settings'!
Olivia is a champion at this activity. We worked more on 'how to read the situation'. Reading body language is an important tool to have. It can help you tell if the situation is escalating or is this friendly play and more.
Next, I worked with Raven. This was Ravens' first time at this dog park with all kinds of dogs and distractions. We worked on her humans staying calm to help her stay calm. Your energy plays a big role in how your dog will behave. The more we work on this, the better Raven gets.
Then I worked with Finn. This was his first time to this dog park. By this training time, the park had almost cleared out. This was a good thing as Finn is very unsure about new things due to his past. He is doing so well, though. He would check in with his humans but go off and explore.
Overall, today was a success and fun training day! I love dog training! ❤️ 🐾

Did our first social setting session with Finn yesterday! He did soooo good. We walked around PetSmart and Home Depot. There were lots of new smells, sounds, and all kinds of people who wanted to say hello. I was very impressed with ❤️ how well Finn did.
