Hi all…It’s Abbie. Whew! This spay stuff is over with. I don’t feel too terribly bad and I’m glad it’s all behind me now.
I got a great report! My spay went well, all my screenings were good, and my exam found no issues. I did have 2 retained baby teeth pulled. There was a 3rd, but it did not have an adult tooth behind it and it probably will not grow in at this point. I need something there so it was left and should not be problematic.
I was aged at 1 year and weighed in at 3.2 lbs. My doctor jokingly said he had to use his magnifying glasses for my spay! 😂
Have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone!
Love, Abbie

I will let everyone know how it goes!

Hi everyone…. how about this happier face? I am feeling better. I am still very, very sore, but I am starting to be a little more active. We had a much better night last night and we all got some sleep.
I went to Hopkins Road Animal Hospital this morning and they checked my incision. Everything looked good. The final verdict for pain management was we added tramadol plus my gabapentin capsules which are higher strength. I still have a long ways to go, but hopefully I have the tools I need now to get me through.
I want to thank all of you for the prayers and concern for my well-being. It means so much to me and PNK. I want to especially thank you for the prayers. They are working!

Hi all….its Chewy. I’m sorry I am late with my medical post, but I had a really ruff night. The good news is my leg amputation surgery went well.
However, I am in a lot of pain. I could not sleep, my breathing was deep and fast, and I cried. I whined all night and could not get comfortable. Somehow, I think I just passed out around 2 or 3 AM. I am so sore all over. I can’t even stand for my Mom to touch me. This is a problem for one of my medications which is liquid. My Mom can’t get my mouth open.
So, we called Hopkins Road Animal Hospital first thing this morning and instead of liquid I will change to capsules which will be stronger. I do need stronger pain medicine. I also will have a patch Mom is going to pick up at her pharmacy, take me to Hopkins, and they are going to put it on. This is to help with my pain also.
I want to thank everyone who has asked about me and prayed for me. If it’s not too much, I ask for continued prayers to get this pain under control.
We will keep everyone updated.
Love, Chewy

🐶 Happy National Dog Day! 🐶
Hi everyone!
My name is Sonya and I recently joined the PNK family. I am an approximate 3 year old female weighing 8-9 lbs. My paperwork lists me as a terrier mix. I was found as a stray, taken to shelter, and no one claimed me.
I am a filthy, matted mess. I was infested with fleas. So I will be headed to see our wonderful friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs soon for a much needed spa day.
PNK is still getting to know me, but I have been super sweet to everyone. I am doing well with my canine siblings and love to play! I run as fast as I can around my fenced in yard 2 to 3 times and then plop down for my absolute favorite thing other than food….. a belly rub! I seem to have the gist of house training. Everything is still pretty new.
My spay, exam, and screenings are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10th. I will be ready to join you soon after or an approved applicant could take me before then for a trial to see how well I would fit in with their family.
Updated pics to come!

Happy, Happy Adoption Day!
Hi all…..it’s Fawn. I wanted to share the exciting news I have been adopted!
I have the best new Mom & Dad a pup could ask for. They have been working with me doing short trips to help me overcome getting carsick. I haven’t gotten sick once! I’m also doing great with my house training! Only one accident so far! I needed someone with time and patience and they have plenty of both! I don’t want either one of them to get out of my sight! I feel very happy and secure in my new home. That’s something I never had before.
I heard there were a lot of applications for me and I want to thank everyone for wanting to give me a good home. PNK and me also want to thank all of our awesome supporters for making this little girls dream come true.
I have a new name now….Molly.
Here’s to a long, happy, and healthy life together!

UPDATE: Adoption Pending!
Hi all….its Chewy. I got all cleaned up to be ready for my leg amputation surgery next Tuesday, Aug. 27th. Many thanks to our great friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs for my cute haircut and spa day! I think I look very handsome!
PNK and me want to thank everyone who has donated towards my surgery. It is because of all of you I can now have this surgery which will give me a much better quality of life. We are simply amazed by the generosity and kindness you have shown to help me. To say we are beyond grateful is an understatement!
Since my surgery is getting close, it’s time to think about my forever home. Everyone describes me as delightful. I have boundless energy and personality with plenty of kisses to go around. I will follow you everywhere! But, I am very careful and do not get under your feet. I am mostly house trained and have had only a few accidents. I am super friendly, never meet a stranger, and love all dogs! I am accustomed to moving with only 3 legs and do very well so don’t let my amputation surgery scare you away!
For those who may not have met me yet: I am an approximate 5 year old neutered male Brussels griffin mix. I weigh around 9 pounds. I will shed very little.

Hi everyone!
My name is Abbie and I recently joined the PNK family. I am an approximate 1 year old female Chihuahua. I weigh a very tiny 3 lbs.! Little me was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. No one came for me. I was terrified there.
I haven’t been with PNK long, but in Foster care, I have been very sweet. I LOVE to be held. Being so tiny, I do get frightened easily. We are working on house training, but my Foster mom takes me out every hour and with this routine I have had no accidents. I am a minimal shedder. I love other dogs and I love to play! I’m also very quiet and have done well sleeping in my crate at night.
My spay, exam, and screenings are scheduled for Friday, Sept 6th. I will be ready to join you soon after. Applications can be found at the top of this page, on our website, or you can email/message us, and we will send you a link to the application.

Happy, Happy Adoption Day!
Hi all…..it’s Skippy. I am thrilled to share the news I am in my forever home!
I am pictured with my wonderful new Mom & Dad. They have been so patient, kind, and loving with me. That is exactly what I needed to help me adjust. I can be very timid and shy. I know I look scared in this picture, but my confidence is growing every day. I have been in my new home for several days, and Mom and Dad said I am doing so well! We go on lots of walks and I have met a few neighbors. They loved me and I loved them right back!
I have come such a long way from a dirty, smelly, matted, and terrified little dog my previous family put in a shelter because they were moving. Now, I have a house full of security and love. It is an incredible feeling, and I want to thank all of the PNK supporters for making this little guys dream a reality! PNK and I will be forever grateful!
I have a new name now…..Benji.

Hi all…..it’s Fawn. I am so sleepy. I can barely keep my eyes open. My little tongue is even hanging out. That’s OK. Everybody said I did great with my spay today. They said my tail never stopped wagging! That’s me!
I got a good report. My exam found no issues and all went well with my spay. I did test positive for Coccidia which is a common infection of the G.I. tract. I have no symptoms, but will be treated. I weighed in at 9.7 pounds.
I am headed home to sleep it off in my soft, comfy bed. I am hoping I will be able to eat. I’m not hungry right now. Foster Mom said I had to eat a little so I could take my meds which would make me feel so much better tomorrow. I promise I’ll try.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

UPDATE: Adoption Pending!
Hi everyone….my name is Chewy and I really need your help!
I need my right front leg amputated. It’s a very expensive surgery with an estimate of $1000. It’s an old injury that my former owner never cared enough to fix. PNK has already had me neutered, examined, X rayed, plus a dental with 3 teeth extracted which came to $511. So they really need help with my amputation surgery. Pics of the estimate and my last vet visit will be in comments.
I have been in and out of the shelter the last couple of years. My owner just left me there this time. I was covered in fleas. I really needed a new home and medical care. I do well on my 3 good legs. My bad leg is just a nuisance. I hold it up most of the time. X rays showed it could not be pinned back in place so our vet recommended amputation. The surgery is scheduled for August 27th at Hopkins Road Animal Hospital. Then I want to find a real home.
A little about me: I am an approximate 5 year old neutered male weighing 8- 9 lbs. I am believed to be a Brussels Griffin mix.
My foster dad says I am just a delight! I have boundless energy and personality with plenty of kisses to go around. I will follow you everywhere! But, I am very careful and do not get under your feet. I am mostly housetrained having only a few accidents. I am super friendly, never meet a stranger, and love all dogs!
If anyone can help give me a better quality of life, even if it’s a small amount, it will be so appreciated!
Hi all….its Skippy. I wanted to let everyone know I have recovered from my neuter and I am ready for my forever home!
For those who may not have met me yet: I am an approximate 2 year old neutered male weighing around 15 pounds. I am believed to be a Yorkie-Poo. I do not shed.
In foster care, I have been so sweet and gentle. I love other dogs! My energy level is on the lower side. I am mostly house trained, but in my new home, I may need a refresher. I can be shy, and it may take me a while to get used to change. I am trying to build my confidence. I do great riding in a vehicle. I really am a beautiful dog! Just look at that face!! 😍
Applications can be found on our website at the top of this page or you can message/email us and we will send you a link to the application. I am being fostered in Kernersville, NC.

Happy, Happy Adoption Day!
Hi all….its Krystal. I am thrilled to share the news I have found my forever home!
Wow, what a journey it has been! I came to PNK in early June….filthy, matted from head to toe, and smelled awful ( pic in comments). Just look at me now! I am pictured with my amazing Mom and all 3 of my canine siblings…. Molly, Millie, and Minnie. Here I am on Mom’s lap with none other than a toy!! To say I love my toys is an understatement. Mom and Dad laugh at me because I hoard them! I knew I was home when I walked in and saw a huge basket of toys! 😍
I have so many to thank. First, I want to thank all my angels who donated for the vet care I needed. You all are simply awesome and I would not be here, happy and healthy, if it wasn’t for all of you. PNK and me are eternally grateful! I also want to thank my amazing Foster Mom for taking such good care of me plus opening up her heart and home to me. I will love you always!
I spend my days romping and playing in my large fenced in yard and of course hoarding toys! We are all still adjusting, but I love my new siblings which also includes a feline and a turtle! I really do have an incredible family who promised I would never get in the condition I was found in. What a feeling! There is going to be lots of spoiling!
I have a new name….Micki Leigh.

Hi all…it’s Fawn. First, I hope everyone is safe from tropical storm Debby.
Second, Wow, do I feel better! I am all clean and the nasty matts have been removed from my back. Many thanks to our great friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs for my spa day!
For those who may not have met me yet: I am an approximate 2 year old female Shih Tzu mix. I weigh about 9-10 lbs.
So what have we learned? In foster care, I have been very friendly and sweet to everyone. I will shower you with kisses. I love to play! I get along well with all my canine foster siblings. I do not shed. We are working on house training. I can be timid and nervous in new situations. I have gotten nervous riding in a vehicle and got carsick. I do not seem to have experienced much in my young life.
My spay, exam, and screenings are scheduled for next Friday, August 16th. I will be ready to join my new family the following week! But, It’s all over. Right now, I’m so sleepy and happy to be on the way home. I’m also happy my neuter went well, my exam found no issues, and all my screenings were good. I was aged 2 years and weighed in at 15.5 pounds.
Well, home to my nice comfy bed to sleep it off. Foster Mom said I could have a little chicken with my food tonight if I eat and take my meds. It’s a deal!
Have a nice evening, everyone!

❤️ Happy, Happy Adoption Day! ❤️
Hi all…..it’s Scout. Guess what happened everybody? You’re right! My foster parents adopted me. My wish and dream came true!
Please forgive my Dad. I begged him to smile in this picture but he’s a little shy. However, I’m not. I also have a younger canine sibling, Walton, to run around and play with. We do have fun in our large fenced in yard. Since my neuter, I’ve been much happier to hang around inside with my parents though.
Remember, PNK thought I was older than 2 years? I am. I’m actually closer to 7 years old. I also have a grade 3 heart murmur. My parents didn’t care. We were all meant to be together.
PNK and me want to thank all of our incredible supporters for making this middle-aged little man’s dream come true. I have my own family who will never let me get in the condition I was found in.
Have a great weekend, everyone! I know we will!

😍 Introducing the new Skippy! 😍
Hi all…. words cannot express how much better I feel and look. I had a ton of matts, so I had to be cut pretty short. I admit I was nervous, but I did really well. Many thanks to our wonderful friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs for my amazing transformation!
For those who may not have met me yet: I am an approximate 2 year old male small mixed non-shedding breed. We believe a Yorkie mix. I weigh around 15 lbs.
I haven’t been in Foster care very long, but I have been so sweet and gentle, plus amazingly calm and docile. I love to just sit with you and receive attention. In return, I give kisses! I do well with my foster canine siblings. I seem mostly house trained, and my neuter should put me there. I do well on a leash unless it’s something I am unsure of, then I will stop. I am also unsure of riding in a vehicle, but once placed there I do great. I will build my confidence. I have been through a lot.
My exam, neuter, and screenings are next Tuesday, August 6th. Applications can be found on our website and at the top of this page in our bio. You can always message us and we can send you the link. I hope to meet you soon!

Hi everyone!
My name is Skippy and I recently joined the PNK family. I am an approximate 2 year old male small mixed breed. Maybe some Yorkie in there underneath all those matts? I weigh around 15 lbs. I was surrendered to a shelter because my family was moving. I don’t understand why I couldn’t go with them and why they let me get in this condition.
I am really filthy, stinky, and matted. So we are going to visit our great friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs tomorrow! I hope it will give me a mood uplift as I have been confused and sad. I just feel awful. But, I have been very sweet, calm, and a perfect gentleman.
I am scheduled to have my exam, neuter, and screenings next Tuesday
August 6th. PNK will provide more information after I am cleaned up and get more settled in my foster home.

Hi all….it’s Krystal. Last week when you saw me I had just got spayed, so I wanted to share a more recent picture. Plus, I wanted to let everyone know I have recovered well from my spay and dental, and I am ready to be adopted! My hair has also grown back nicely since my sedation shave.
As a reminder: I am a 3- 4 year old spayed female. My paperwork reads I am a Shih Tzu or a Shih poo. I am a non-shedding breed. I weigh around 10 lbs.
I am 90% house trained only having a couple of accidents in the last few weeks. I get along well with other dogs and I am also cat friendly! My Foster Mom says I am such a sweetheart and definitely a Velcro girl! I will stick right with you. I sleep quietly in my crate at night, have moderate energy, and absolutely LOVE playing with my toys. Afterwards, I like to take a long nap. You can definitely call me a lap baby! I do great walking on a leash, riding in a vehicle, and I do not bark unnecessarily.
So what are we waiting for? I think we’re ready to be a family. Applications can be found at the top of this page in our bio. You may have to copy and paste it to put it in your browser. You can always message us and we can send you the link.

So what have we learned? I am a true sweetheart who loves to be with my people. I get along great with all dogs plus, I am house trained! I do well on my leash and enjoy going for walks.
But, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I think my Foster parents are going to adopt me! I overheard them talking about how I needed a home and how well I was doing here. I hope so because I don’t want to leave. I’m happy here.
I’ve been so excited to share the good news and my new look with you! I’ll keep everyone updated!

Hi everyone!
My name is Scout. My paperwork states I am a 2 year old male Poodle. PNK thinks I am older. I weigh around 14 pounds. I was found as a stray, taken to a shelter, and no one came for me.
It is really hard to tell much because I am so filthy, smelly, and terribly matted. I have a sore spot right above my tail. I am just pitiful, but very sweet.
At first, we thought I would need a sedation shave, but our awesome friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs is going to try to work her magic. We are confident she can do it! I am getting neutered this week so I’ve got to get all handsome so I can find my forever home. I am being fostered in Kernersville, NC.

Hi all….its Macy. I am thrilled to share the news I am in my forever home!
Sometimes you just know. Just like my new Mom knew when she saw my picture. I am so thankful they chose me because what an incredible family I now have! I feel a whole lot of spoiling in my future, and I am ready for it all.
You can just see the love in the picture. Look at that big smile on my Mom’s face. If you look closely, as I try to steal a kiss, I am smiling too! We also have my wonderful Dad and my canine sister, Lizzie. I also have 2 other Westie siblings. It’s been a couple of days now and we are becoming a pack.
Wow, did my life change quickly for the better. I came to PNK with sores all over my ears and missing half my body hair. My ears have almost healed, and my hair is growing back nicely.
PNK and me are so incredibly grateful to all our followers/supporters for making dreams like this come true for all of us.
I have a new name….Sadie May

Hi all…. It’s Krystal. I waited to do my medical report this morning because I was not feeling well at all last night. I could not eat anything until about 8 PM when I finally ate just enough to take my pain pill. I’m still not hungry this morning, but ate a little. I’m sure I’ll be feeling better later today.
My spay and dental went well. My teeth cleaned up nicely and none had to be pulled. My exam showed no issues.
I did want you all to know I am doing much better with my house training. I’ve got the gist of it and have had only one accident in the house and only one in my crate in the last 2 weeks. So, I’m getting there! I am working hard to get my forever home! I am also doing much better with my play biting. Well, it’s really not biting, it’s more like a nibble, but I’ve learned that’s not a nice thing to do.
I was aged 3-4 years and weighed in at 10.2 lbs. I put on a few! We are unsure of my breed. My paperwork reads both Shih Tzu and Shih-Poo. I am a non-shedding breed. Applications can be found on our website which can be found at the top of this page or you can message/ email us and we will send you a link to the application.
I’m going back to sleep. Have a great day everyone!

Hi all….its Macy. What do you do when you are recovering from your spay surgery? You snuggle up with Foster Mom or your favorite toy!
I let Puffy go first with her medical report yesterday, as I was not feeling quite as well as she was. I could not keep my dinner down last night, but breakfast did stay with me. So, I am feeling much better now.
I got a great report! My sores in and around my ears are healing up nicely. I no longer need my anti-inflammatory/antibiotic spray. Foster Mom can just use Neosporin now. She said I was the absolute best for meds! Not to mention, I am the sweetest girl! Nothing but tail wags and kisses.
My exam and screenings were all good! I was aged 2-3 years and weighed in at 13.6 pounds. Applications can be found on our website at the top of the page or you can message/email us and we will send you a link to the application.
I think it’s time for some more snuggles. Enjoy your evening, everyone!

Hi all….its Puffy. Whew! What a day! I’m glad it’s over.
I am recovering well from my spay and all my screenings were good. When my uterus was removed, there were 2 large pockets of infection. Not quite on the pyometra level, but close. I was given an antibiotic injection to clear up any residual bacteria. I should be feeling like a new girl soon.
I was aged 2 years and weighed in at 5.3 pounds.
Due to the large amount of applications already received, PNK is no longer accepting applications for me.
I am headed home to my nice cozy bed until dinner and meds time.

Hi everyone!
My name is Macy and I recently joined the PNK family. I am an approximate 3 year old female small mixed breed. I weigh around 14 pounds. I was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. No one came for me.
As you can see, I’m in kinda rough shape. I am so embarrassed. It appears a flea infestation has caused me to lose half of my body hair. It has also caused me to scratch sores in my ears. I have been treated for those nasty fleas and my hair is growing back nicely. I also have an anti-inflammatory/antibiotic topical spray for my sores, and they are showing much improvement. Foster Mom said I am SO good for my meds.
In the few days I have been with PNK, I have been super sweet and friendly to everyone! I get along well with other dogs of all sizes. I am mostly housetrained and adjusting to my foster schedule. I’m an energetic little girl who loves to play with her toys and other dogs! I will shed very little.
There’s been a change in our spay schedule. I am taking Krystal’s place tomorrow, July 16th. Krystal will have her spay/dental this Friday, July 19th.
I know I’m very new, but if you’d like to put in an application, they can be found on our website at the top of this page or you can email/message us, and we will send a link to the application.
I will update everyone on my medical status and any new information after my exam/ spay/ screenings tomorrow.

What is better than 2 PNK pups? 3 PNK pups!
Hi all…..it’s Chrissy. Can you tell which one is me? I am on the left. I was adopted as soon as I was medically cleared. My urinalysis showed my UTI was completely gone, and I was given an antibiotic injection just in case there was any residual bacteria. I feel like a brand new dog!

My brother and sister also were adopted from PNK. We have Rosie in the middle and Disney on the right. I have completed this beautiful family! We all are adjusting well and getting more comfortable each day.
I have come a long way from a matted, filthy, stinky stray to the happy little girl you see in this picture. I now know what love is and it is a beautiful thing. I am going to spend my days soaking it all up. Many thanks to all the PNK supporters for making this little girls dream come true.
My family is still deciding on a new name but we are thinking Daisy. I like it!

Hi all…..it’s Puffy. Look at me! I never knew I could feel this good plus I can see! Many thanks to our awesome friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs for my spa day I needed so badly! It took multiple baths to get all the gunk out of my hair and it will take even more baths to get all the urine stains completely out of my tail and backside.
So what have we learned? In foster care, I have been so sweet and loving. I enjoy sitting in your lap and giving kisses. I do well with other dogs, love to play with my toys, and chew on my Nylabones. I am not housetrained yet. I do p**p outside, but still have p*e accidents inside. However, I’m a young pup and I will get it. It seems no one has shown me any of this before. But, just look at this cute face! 🥰
For those who may not have met me yet: I am an approximate 7 month old female Maltese. I weigh 5-6 pounds.
I am now ready for my spay and exam this Tuesday, July 16th. I will be ready to join you after I recover. Applications can be found on our website or you can message/ email us and we will send you the link to the application. I am being fostered in Kernersville, NC.

Hi all….its Chrissy. I was an office favorite at my vet visit today. I just ate up all the attention as I stare at the treat bag being rattled for this picture!
I got a good report! I am recovering from my spay very well. All my screenings were good, but since I am still occasionally dribbling urine, my doctor would like to do a urinalysis to make sure my UTI has cleared up completely. Of course, when I was taken outside, I did nothing! Foster Mom will try to catch a sample in the morning.
I was aged much younger. They believe I am closer to 1 year as opposed to 4 years. I weighed in at 8.1 pounds.
I did absolutely fabulous in the vets office. Where I was once uncomfortable being held, I now find it to be very comforting. Foster Mom is so proud of me and I am proud of myself.

ADOPTED ❤️
Hi everyone!
My name is Tigger. I am a 3 year old male small mixed breed. I don’t have an exact weight but I think I am around 10 pounds? I am 1 of 4 dogs who was seized by Animal Control for running loose. My family decided to surrender us because they can’t keep us contained.
I know PNK normally takes photos of us as we get our freedom ride out of the shelter, but I am pretty fearful as you can tell in my shelter video. No aggression, just fearful. So, for safety, I rode to my foster home in a crate.
Right now, I just want a quiet place to decompress and adjust to my new surroundings. Everything is scary right now, but PNK will share pictures and more information when I’ve had some time to relax and build trust. We will all come around. We always do!
Stay tuned everyone and please share! Love, Tigger
Pupdate: Week 5!!
Hi Everyone!
Look at us! We’re 5 weeks old now!
We are learning a new routine. We’re eating soft food from a bowl now. Sometimes we step in it and make a mess. Then we have playtime. We run, wrestle and play with our toys. We get pretty tired so back to our pen to take a nap. We do this routine 4 times each day. Mom still lets us have milk a couple times a day.
Our Foster Mom says we are good boys. We love when she holds us. She thinks we are adorable and a joy to watch. We hope you do too.
We have our first vet appointment November 21st to get our first set of vaccines. It’s time to start thinking about our forever home! Applications can be found here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-and-fostering-process.html.
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Love, Uno ( brown) and Dapple

Pebbles continues to be an excellent Mom! In one month, they will receive their first puppy shots. Time will fly by!
We have had several inquiries about adopting. They will be ready at 8 weeks which should be right after Thanksgiving. If you are interested, you can submit an application here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-and-fostering-process.html.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Project No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc. is currently a “foster based” organization and rescue group for small breed dogs in the Triad, North Carolina. Our organization seeks to eventually build a no-kill animal sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs in the Kernersville, N.C. area. In addition to providing transitional housing for dogs waiting for a loving home, we also plan to incorporate educational programs and companion animal services to members of our community after the shelter is constructed.
We are currently seeking foster families to help save dogs now while continuing to work towards our goal of building the sanctuary. We are also looking for volunteers to help transport the dogs, to assist at events, and perform other tasks for the organization. Our volunteer and foster applications are available in electronic format (see “About Us”).
As we continue to work towards our goal we have multiple dogs in foster homes waiting for their own loving home. You can see the dogs currently available here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoptable-dogs.html
The adoption application can be found here https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-fostering-and-surrender.html. The final adoption fee is $175.00 which includes, spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, f***l screening, and any other medical needs necessary before adoption.
Project No-Kill accepts owner surrenders on a case by case basis. General criteria: up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter (if of age), vet records, no history of aggression, under 25 pounds, and others. Owner surrenders must include a donation to the Organization towards the care of the dog being surrendered.
