Hi all....it's Josie. Mr. Happy who just got a whole lot happier. I have found my forever home. I am adopted!
Sometimes you walk into a place and you know you were meant to stay. That's how I felt and that's how my Mom & Dad felt. Talk about an amazing Mom & Dad. Just look at those smiles. I've got the best!
I am a young pup, so I've got a few things to learn. But, my Mom & Dad have all the patience needed to work with me to make me the best I can be They are fencing in the yard for me! I'm going to get to run and play freely! I have the energy for it! But the best thing is guess what they had waiting for me....toys! Lots and lots of toys! Oh my gosh, do I love my toys! Yep, this is my house.
I have come a long way from a very filthy, smelly stray, who found himself stuck in a shelter. Now the world is mine! What a feeling! I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. Importantly, many thanks to all the incredible PNK supporters for making this little boy's dream come true!
I have a new name now.... Archie.

Hi Friends,
Due to a medical procedure ( outpatient surgery), I am having next week we will be closed for intake until August 1st. I apologize for any inconvenience. I am already counting the days until I am on my feet again and doing what I love…. helping these little lost angels.
We will not completely disappear on Facebook as we will be posting things throughout the temp closure. We have a happy adoption to announce, pics and news about our booth at Unique Treasures, plus plan to do updates on other dogs we have helped.
I truly appreciate each and every one of you for your understanding and support.

Neuter? What neuter?
Hi all…..it’s Josie. This neuter thing has not made me miss a beat today. As soon as I woke up from surgery, I was bouncing around in my kennel. Needless to say, I will have no issues eating and taking my meds. I’m not exactly sure about staying calm though. 🤔
Now to the important stuff….. my neuter went well, my exam found no issues, and all my screenings were good. I was aged 1-2 years and weighed in at 13.2 lbs. I am a healthy young man!
They told me I was so sweet today! That’s me! Mr. Friendly. I never meet a stranger and I love everyone, human and canine.
PNK is no longer accepting applications for me. Thank you everyone for the interest!
Home we go! I feel fine and want to play. I think Foster Mom may have a different idea. But, I don’t want to rest. Bummer! Maybe I’m more tired than I realized though.

Hi all….its Josie. Wow, I look, feel and smell so much better. Many thanks to our amazing friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs for working me in and making this happen for me! She is the best!
As a reminder: I am an approximate 1 year old male small mixed breed. I think I have some Shih Tzu in me. I will shed very little. I weigh around 14 pounds.
So what have we learned? I love, love, love toys! Toys make the world go around. I like to flip them up in the air and bring them to you to throw. I am house trained. I love to play with other dogs. I am still very much a puppy so I love to play with everything! I have typical puppy energy and curiosity. We are working on “ no bite “ while playing. I will alert you if I hear something outside. I do have quite a bark so an apartment or condo may not be the best choice for me. I really am the sweetest, friendliest dog you will ever meet. No one is a stranger. Prepare for kisses! Plus, darn I’m cute! 🥰
I am now ready for my neuter, exam, and screenings, which are this Monday, July 7th. I will be ready to join you soon after. Applications can be found on our website or at the top of this page. I am being fostered in Kernersville, NC.

Hi everyone!
My name is Josie and I just joined the PNK family today! My paperwork reads I am a 1 year old male small mixed breed. I weigh around 14 pounds. I was found as a stray, taken to a shelter, and no one came for me.
I am pretty disheveled and dirty. I am in need of a bath and trim. We will be visiting our wonderful friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs soon.
Since I just arrived to Foster care today, PNK does not know a lot about me yet. It’s one thing though it didn’t take long to figure out. I am as sweet as they come. I will go up to a stranger and start licking them in the face. I like to be held and lay in your lap. I did potty as soon as I got out of the shelter so maybe I’ve had a little house training? Time will tell. I have done fine with all my canine foster siblings so far.

Hi all….It’s little shy Richie here to share the great news I am in my forever home! I am adopted!
Just look at my wonderful, happy family! And look at me! I’m not hiding! I’m finding my courage. Every day I get more playful and confident. I love all my family members, but I follow my Mom everywhere! I do still look at her for permission to do things. But, in time, as my confidence builds, that should fade away. My Mom said I was doing great and this was meant to be. I agree!
I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. As always, PNK and me are so thankful for our incredible supporters for making this once terrified little shelter dogs dream come true.

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕
Hi all….its Bo here to tell you the best news! I am in my forever home. That’s right! I am adopted.
It’s just me and my wonderful Mom. Don’t we look so cute together? It did not take me long to settle at all. I love our walks around the neighborhood and meeting new people and other dogs. I am enjoying my reduced calorie food. I am determined to get my weight down to 15 pounds. I want to be around for a long time. It’s obvious I’ve had a background of training. I know lots of commands. Especially “ go get Mr. Squeak.” I love to play!
I came to PNK very matted with urine and f***s stuck all in the matts. The smell was horrible. But look at me now! Many thanks to all the PNK supporters for making this former shelter dogs dream of a forever home come true. We can’t do it without you!
I’m keeping my name. I like it. But I’ll probably always be known as the dog with one ear up, and one ear down. Yep, that’s me! 😁

Guess who everyone? Yes, it’s me Jester. Guess what everyone? I am in my forever home. I have been adopted!
My day finally came! It’s just me and my new Mom. Exactly what I needed. I follow her around everywhere. I love our walks around the neighborhood. My Mom is also installing a fence for me. More play area! She says I’m such a sweetie and so smart. Yes, I am both. I give her endless kisses and she gives me endless belly rubs! It’s great!
I want to thank everyone for the love and encouragement when I was down thinking this day wasn’t going to happen. It just takes a little longer for some of us that have unique personalities. As always, PNK and me want to thank all of our amazing supporters for helping make this former shelter dogs dream of a forever home come true!

Well, everybody, I made it through the day. I feel kind of stunned. I’m not even really sure what happened. I know I am glad to be on the way home to something familiar.
Good news! My neuter went well, my exam found no issues, and all my screenings were good. I am a healthy little boy! I was aged 2 years and weighed in at 12.6 pounds.
They said I did really well. I was happy to see everyone this morning. I wagged my tail at both humans and canines. I was very brave. And you know what…..I didn’t hide behind Foster Mom. She said she was so proud of me. I am getting there.

Project No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc. is currently a “foster based” organization and rescue group for small breed dogs in the Triad, North Carolina. Our organization seeks to eventually build a no-kill animal sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs in the Kernersville, N.C. area. In addition to providing transitional housing for dogs waiting for a loving home, we also plan to incorporate educational programs and companion animal services to members of our community after the shelter is constructed.
We are currently seeking foster families to help save dogs now while continuing to work towards our goal of building the sanctuary. We are also looking for volunteers to help transport the dogs, to assist at events, and perform other tasks for the organization. Our volunteer and foster applications are available in electronic format (see “About Us”).
As we continue to work towards our goal we have multiple dogs in foster homes waiting for their own loving home. You can see the dogs currently available here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoptable-dogs.html
The adoption application can be found here https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-fostering-and-surrender.html. The final adoption fee is $175.00 which includes, spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, f***l screening, and any other medical needs necessary before adoption.
Project No-Kill accepts owner surrenders on a case by case basis. General criteria: up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter (if of age), vet records, no history of aggression, under 25 pounds, and others. Owner surrenders must include a donation to the Organization towards the care of the dog being surrendered.
