❤️ Happy Adoption Update! ❤️

While PNK waits for their next group of pups, I wanted to give everybody an update.

My name was Nyla, now Telly. The bottom picture shows the condition I was in when I was pulled from the shelter. I am past filthy, matted, plus I smelt and felt awful. I had a very nasty UTI that took some time to resolve.

Fast forward to the top picture. Aren't I a cutie! I have the best Mom in the world. We go hiking, take trips to the beach, and hang out at the most quaint little coffee shop. I am quite a hit there!

But, my favorite place to go is visiting Mom's work where a lot of older folks live that don't really have much. I crawl right up in their lap. It's amazing to see the look of joy on their faces. Normally they never smile or talk or anything. But, with me cuddled in their lap, they begin smiling and clapping. Then they start talking about pets they had when they were younger. It's just amazing to witness!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I think I had a couple of Christmases as much stuff as Mom got me! I am definitely living my best life!

Happy soon to be New Year everyone!
Love, Telly

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕

Hi all....Its Mixie. It's my time! I have found my forever home. I am adopted!

Can't you just feel the love in this picture? Just look how my new Dad is looking down smiling at me. Yes, I was afraid at first but got very comfortable in his arms. You can even see the relief on my sweet face. This is the one. I have more family members who couldn't be in the picture today. I have my Mom and my older canine sister, Gidget.

I am a puppy mill survivor. Before PNK got me out of the shelter, I had only known darkness and a tiny cage. I ate, drank, and slept in my f***s and urine. Words can't describe the feeling knowing I never have to go back to that life again.

I am settling in very well. I'm learning what it's like to be a companion dog. It will take a while for my fears to completely dissipate, but Dad says I'm doing fantastic. I am having a lot of fun.

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me and to everyone who shared my post. Importantly, PNK and me are beyond grateful to all of our amazing supporters for giving me a chance to have a real life.

I'm going to bark it out loud! I am home for Christmas! Oh my gosh, that sounds so wonderful. I've got to bark it again...I am home for Christmas!

Here's to a wonderful holiday together and for a long, healthy, and happy life thereafter!
Love, Mixie

🌲 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 🎄

Hi all....it's Levi. I'm on the right. I waited patiently for my turn to say I am in my forever home. I am adopted!

I am pictured with my beautiful family including my 2 canine siblings. It's a house full of love for sure. I'm the kind of guy that just comes on in and makes himself at home and that's exactly what I did. I spend my days exploring my fenced in yard, playing with my siblings, and of course playing with my toys. There was a huge box full when I arrived! Of course we have to scatter them all over the floor. That's the only way to play! But, my favorite activity, is snuggling up in my Mom's lap. I never pictured myself as that kind of guy, but it sure feels good!

There have been so many positive changes in my life these last few months. I landed in a shelter so severely matted they had to shave me. I was so relieved and thankful all that nasty stuff was gone. That was the first step to get me where I am now.

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me plus everyone who shared my post. That's how I got here! I especially want to thank all the PNK supporters, for without you, this day would've never happened.

I'm keeping my name. I like it.

I am home for Christmas!
Love, Levi

❤️ADOPTED ❤️

Hi all.....it's Mixie. I am still hopeful I will be in my forever home before Christmas.

For those who may not have met me yet: I am a 2 year old spayed female Shih Tzu mix. I weigh 8 pounds. I am a puppy mill survivor. I do not shed.

I have gained a lot of confidence in my foster home. House training is still a work in progress. Due to my background, that is going to take time and patience. I do well with other dogs and absolutely LOVE my toys. I hoard them and stack them up on my bed. Foster mom said it is hilarious to watch me so I'm entertaining too! I have learned to love attention and cuddles. I have become quite affectionate. I don't walk..... I prance! I'm just so darn sweet and cute!

I have come such a long way. Now all I need is you. It would be a dream come true to celebrate my first Christmas of freedom in my forever home! Applications can be found on our website, at the top of this page, and the link will be added in the comments. I am located in Kernersville, NC.

Please share so I can be home for Christmas!
Love, Mixie

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕

Hi all...it's Minnie. It's my turn, it's my turn! I have found my forever home. I am adopted.

I don't mean to brag ( or maybe I do) but I have the best family in the world! That's my wonderful new Mom I am pictured with plus I have my Dad who has one of the best laps in the world. Dad & me have a heated blanket we snuggle up in on these cold nights. I can be quite the rubber band. Keeping with tradition ......I got a new sweater too! Pics in comments.

Wow, so much has happened in the last month. Before coming to PNK, for 2 years I knew nothing but darkness and a tiny cage. I ate, drank, and slept in my f***s and urine. I was filthy and very matted. I got all cleaned up, spayed, health checked, and here I am. I have everything a little doggy would want. What an amazing journey.

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I heard there were a lot! I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. Special thanks to all the PNK supporters, for without you, I would not be able to be here. You all are the best!

Oh my gosh, it's going to be so cold tonight in our area. Guess where I'm going to be? All wrapped up in my heated blanket. If this is a dream, don't wake me up. I am right where I want to be.

I have a new name.....Lacie. I love it! It's very distinguished and sophisticated.

I am home for Christmas!
Love, Minnie ( Lacie)

❤️ ADOPTED ❤️

Hi all....it's Levi. I bet everyone has forgotten about me. I have been laying low watching my friends get their forever homes just in time for Christmas. Then I realized there's less than 2 weeks until Christmas! I need to get on here and find my Christmas home.

My hair has really grown since I came to PNK. I was so matted I had to be shaved. I have really blossomed into a beautiful dog!

As a reminder: I am a 2 year old neutered male and believed to be a Shih Tzu mix? I weigh around 15 pounds. I shed little to none.

In foster care, I am housestrained and a super sweet little guy. I am very friendly to everyone I meet. I do well with other dogs, but prefer calmer dogs that are not in my face. I LOVE playing with my toys and enjoy a good game of fetch. I will bring my toy back and drop it at your feet. I also love my cuddles. I've got a pretty good bark on me so I'll let you know if something's not quite right. I do not bark excessively, however. I listen well, ride well, am pretty calm, can entertain myself, and easy to care for. I'm just an all-around great dog.

So who's it going to be? You? All right! I can't wait to spend Christmas with you. Applications can be found on our website, at the top of this page, plus the link will be in the comments. I am located in Kernersville, NC.

Please share so I can be home for Christmas!

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day 💕

Hi all....it's Sandy. I am thrilled to say I have found my forever home. I am adopted!

Oh my goodness, I have hit the doggy jackpot! My new Mom is the absolute best! I also have a canine brother, Charlie. We look like we could be brother and sister. Isn't my Mom brave to have 2 terrors, I mean terriers. 😜

Charlie and me have the best time running and playing in our fenced backyard. Mom says I am an absolute doll baby..... sweet, mischievous, loving, playful, and so entertaining! Yep, that describes me all right! She bought me a beautiful new sweater I like to strut around in. Pics will be in the comments.

Sometimes I think I'm dreaming. Can life really be this good? Then I realize it can and is! But, it certainly didn't start out this way. The stray life was hard. Then I landed in a shelter. I was terrified. That is a fear I will never have to feel again.

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I heard there were a lot! I really appreciate everyone wanting to give me a good home. As always, many thanks to all the PNK supporters for helping make my dream come true!

I have a new name.....Sadie

I am home for Christmas!

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕

Hi all....it's Umi. Now it's my turn to say I have found my forever home. I am adopted!

I am pictured with my new Mom or Moms. What a lucky girl I am! I have 2 laps for sitting and snuggling plus 4 hands for those all important belly rubs!

It has been quite a journey for me. I have been passed around a few times because of my excitement and energy, but I have finally found someone that understands me. I am enjoying our walks so I can sniff, sniff, sniff, and sniff some more. We have plenty of room for it. There is a lot of love in my house.

I want to thank my amazing foster parents for helping me on this journey. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here. I would've been in a shelter. That's no place for any dog. I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. Importantly, I want to thank all of PNK's awesome supporters! Without you, none of us would be here. I am home for Christmas!

Here's to a long, healthy, and happy life together!
Love, Umi

❤️ ADOPTED ❤️

Foster Mom, I feel kind of strange and different.

Well, Sandy, you just got spayed, which is surgery. It will take a little bit for the effects of the anesthesia to wear off. Then you will feel more normal, especially by morning. Plus, if you do what I say and rest, eat, and take your meds. Would you do that for me?

Yes, I will, Foster Mom. You know I love to hear I'm a good girl.

You are a wonderful little girl, Sandy. Now before we buckle up and head home, can you tell everybody your medical report?

Yes, of course! Hi all....I am happy to report my spay went well and my exam found no issues. However, my intestinal parasite screen was positive for roundworms. I have medication so those little suckers will be gone in no time. I was aged 1-2 years and I weighed in at 9.4 pounds.

I overheard there were a ton of applications for me and PNK is no longer accepting anymore. Wow! I really appreciate everyone wanting to give me a good home.

Speaking of home, it's time to go home and get in my warm, comfortable bed. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Have a great weekend, everyone !
Love, Sandy

❤️ ADOPTED ❤️

Hi all.....it's Minnie. We are finally on the way home from my spay surgery this morning. I feel a little groggy. But I sure am cute!

My exam did shows my eyes are a little cloudy, which seems to have come from chronic infections from my puppy mill past. Of course we never received any care. More than likely, all the matts I had rubbed my eyes and kept them irritated. No treatment is needed at this time and my vision is fine. All my screenings were good. I was aged 2 years and weighed in at 7.3 lbs.

I am now ready for my forever home! I am so sweet and cuddly. Let's be cuddly together! Applications are still being accepted and can be found on our website, at the top of this page, and the link will be in the comments. I am located in Kernersville, NC.

OK, Foster Mom kick it! I am ready for my soft warm bed. I hope to meet you soon!

Please share!

Project No Kill Canine Rescue

Project No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc. is currently a “foster based” organization and rescue group for small breed dogs in the Triad, North Carolina. Our organization seeks to eventually build a no-kill animal sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs in the Kernersville, N.C. area. In addition to providing transitional housing for dogs waiting for a loving home, we also plan to incorporate educational programs and companion animal services to members of our community after the shelter is constructed.

We are currently seeking foster families to help save dogs now while continuing to work towards our goal of building the sanctuary. We are also looking for volunteers to help transport the dogs, to assist at events, and perform other tasks for the organization. Our volunteer and foster applications are available in electronic format (see “About Us”).

As we continue to work towards our goal we have multiple dogs in foster homes waiting for their own loving home. You can see the dogs currently available here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoptable-dogs.html

The adoption application can be found here https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-fostering-and-surrender.html. The final adoption fee is $175.00 which includes, spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, f***l screening, and any other medical needs necessary before adoption.
