Our not so little anymore goslings Nora and Elin are being taken care of by the flock. Mama Pepper is broody again and only takes car of them when she has on of her breaks. Daddy Efraim is very caring and they turn to him, or me, when they feel insecure or hungry. Humble also babysitts them sometimes together with Efraim and Chi-Chi. Just like last year when she as the first hatched gosling took care of all that came after her. I wish she would get her own goslings she would be such a good mum. I get the honour to give the two little once the occasional cuddle - there's nothing quite like a goslings happy sound!

A day in a small duckling's life. Enjoying the sun, being helped along by Uncle Bumble, walking in formation.
Bumble is very good with baby ducklings and goslings but the mamas don't always appreciate his help. Nothing quite as cute as a huge gander light buffing a little duckling forward towards mama duck. I think he learned this growing up with ducklings.

Salt and her nine little cuties were out all day. She's my tamest duck and brought her little ones up to me and basically asked for food. Which they of course got. I always forget how small they are, look how big “my” ducklings are already 🫣

A heartbreaking day for me over here on our “littlefeathersfarm” I had to cull our first duck.😞

I have no idea what happened to her, but something attacked her at the neck/chest in the creek. The one in the front where I always felt they were safest. Her whole neck was bare and front/meaty area was hanging. I wont share those pictures publicly.

There was nothing I could do and a vet was not an option for us at the moment. I am devastated. We are not eating her. I did it myself and burried her. I plan on putting my tulip bulbs there to bloom in spring.

I hate today. I have not sobbed like this in a long long time. She was still so perky and wanted back out with her pack. But looked horrid.

*No, We do not think it was Tank…I let them out right before I took Mariah into school, which is when I put the dogs away.

I don’t remember seeing the ducks when I got home & let the dogs out, as I was quick about getting inside. So we aren’t 100% sure but he is showing no signs of it being him….

I noticed my girl walking up the driveway from the window with her sister and my other set. Tank was following behind them as usual. Nothing suspicious. I think it happened while I was dropping Mariah off when Tank wasn’t there standing guard…or within the 15-25 minutes I was home before I noticed her. I found chunks of meat and her feathers in the creek😞 My sweet Farrah.

A woman should have the right to decide what happens with her body. It shouldn’t have to be protected by a constitution, it should still be, it just shouldn’t have to be, you know what I mean? Her body her choice yeah?
It’s a basic human right to be able to dictate what happens with your body. A woman’s right, yet millions just lost their ability to choose at the hands of just a dozen people, most being old pasty men an a dude named Clarence. That’s not equal nor right.
What will they take from women next? Birth control? Even their hygiene products? What will they take from the everyone else? The ability to marry your beloved? Will they stifle the chance for a Man and Man to find love with one another, a Woman and Woman? The ones who want to transition genders to feel more comfort in their skin, what’ll happen then?
I’ve amassed 10k+ followers over the last couple of years posting ducks I watch over, not raise, I don’t own them they are wild. It’s nothing crazy, however it’s something and over 50% of you following are women. I just think some things you shouldn’t be quiet about and since I have the ability to voice my opinion, I choose to voice my support.
I may just be a man behind a duck account but I do want you to know that I hope things will get better for you, I want them too. I hope in my lifetime I’ll be able to see that you’re treated as equal as you should be, your rights should be your rights, at your control, not by some man’s discretion. I’d say you are the most integral part of society, you should be treated as such, it’s 2022 and long overdue.
You have my full support, however much it means for you.

Menions treat women with respect, give them support, they deserve it.

Don’t care about these issues that I support, hit the unfollow, find another duck account to look at there’s plenty around, be nice or say bye bye. I may not interact with comments but I do check them to make sure none of you are being weird. I do appreciate the nice comments I read and the people who leave them. Dms I don’t see at all I have them off.
