Bruce was recently surrendered after his previous owners could no longer care for him, but he hasn’t let that dim his gentle spirit. He’s an absolute sweetheart who gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats, making him the perfect companion for just about any home.

🥶 With the cold weather advisory in effect from midnight through 10 a.m. Monday morning—and continuing in the days to follow—please keep your pets safe and warm! If you’re cold, they’re cold! 🥶

💥 Important Reminder: If you’re providing outdoor shelter for community cats, always use straw—never towels, blankets, or any cloth material. Fabric can absorb moisture from the air or get wet, freezing overnight and putting the cats at risk of hypothermia. Stay safe and help protect our furry friends!

TRAPPING ANIMALS IN INCLEMENT WEATHER IS WRONG AND IT IS ILLEGAL!

We define inclement weather as being any weather which includes flooding, ice/snow, high winds, heavy rains, temperatures above 95 degrees or below 45 degrees. Our first concern is the Health and Safety of these animals.

Animals that CANNOT move to a safe shelter can quickly succumb to Hypothermia in extreme low temperatures. Hypothermia can rapidly lead to death. Animals that are trapped out in your yard or field CANNOT remove themselves from your trap and get to a safe shelter, thus making you responsible for their health and safety!

-TX Penal Code 42.092 defines “animal” as a domesticated living creature, including any stray or FERAL CAT or DOG, and a WILD LIVING CREATURE previously CAPTURED.

-TX Penal Code 42.092 states “custody” includes the responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of an animal subject to the person’s care and control, regardless of ownership of the animal

-TX Penal Code 42.092 requires ALL owners or CUSTODIAL OWNERS to provide necessary food, water, and SHELTER to the extent required to maintain the animal in a state of good health

-TX Penal Code 42.092 defines “cruel manner” as any manner that causes or permits unjustified or unwarranted pain or suffering

-TX Penal Code 42.092 defines “torture” as any act that causes unjustifiable pain or suffering

-TX Penal Code 42.092 states that a person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly tortures an animal or in a cruel manner kills or causes serious bodily injury to an animal AND/OR if a person fails unreasonably to provide necessary food, water, care, or shelter for an animal in the person’s custody

Holly is an 8-month-old shepherd mix with a heart as big as her soulful eyes. This bright and affectionate pup is the total package—intelligent, loyal, and undeniably beautiful. She’s eager to share her love with a family who will cherish her as much as she deserves.

Holly’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was left at our front gate on a cold, rainy night, but even that tough start couldn’t dim her sweet spirit. Despite everything, Holly remains hopeful, waiting for the day her forever family finds her and gives her the second chance she’s been dreaming of.

Now, it’s our mission to help Holly find the loving home she’s been patiently waiting for—but we need your help.

As we close out 2024, we reflect on a year filled with incredible achievements and countless lives changed. This year, we rescued 405 animals and found loving homes or safe placements for 367 through adoptions and rescue transfers. Additionally, we provided 1,820 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, making a significant impact in preventing unwanted litters and reducing overpopulation in our community.

These milestones were made possible by the generosity and support of people like you. As we pray for even greater things in 2025—more lives saved, more families united, and more progress in our mission—we invite you to be a part of this journey.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Safety for Pets 🐶🐱

PREPARE
• Take your dog for a long walk or let them play actively in a securely fenced backyard during the day to help tire them out.
• Remind guests about the importance of keeping your pets safe during celebrations.

🏷 IDENTIFICATION
• Ensure your pet’s microchip details are up to date, especially if you’ve moved or changed your phone number.
• Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with a name tag and your current contact information. This can help anyone who finds your pet reach you quickly.

IF YOUR PET GOES MISSING
• Share their photo, your contact information, and the location they went missing on social media as soon as possible. This can significantly improve your chances of finding them.

❤ PROVIDE COMFORT ❤
• Keep your pets indoors.
• Close curtains and blinds to reduce visual stimuli.
• Distract them with games, treats, or familiar comfort items. Playing music or turning on the TV can also help drown out the noise of fireworks.

PREPARE FOR THE UNEXPECTED
• Accidents happen, so stay ready to respond if needed.
