Want to participate in a Quilt a Long?

I am starting a Quilt of Valor Quilt along on Wednesday July 9th!!!

As you know -we do a few Mysteries around here - all patriotic quilts - intended to be Quilts of Valor - a foundation near and dear to my Heart!!

This time.. I will be revealing the Quilt on Wednesday. So this time - you can see what you are stitching on!! The fabric requirements and cutting instructions will also be revealed on the 9th.

Then each Wednesday a new step will be given. You can stitch along with us, or if you already know how to make the blocks.... you stitch at your own speed.

But if you beat me, I will track you down and make you buy me a milkshake!!!

Happy 4th of July !!!

It got hot - and I didn't want to cook so we loaded up and went to Oak and Maple Waffles in Greeley !!

We highly recommend !!

I had the gluten free Elvis waffles , and the guys had chicken a waffles ... and we are stuffed !!

Now ! I don't have to make dinner and can quilt !

Total win right ?

Remember my panel?

I am proud to say - it is now a top!!!

Just in case you don't remember - this is the panel I purchased at the The Fig Leaf in Ft Collins CO on the NoCo Shop Hop.

Go me!! I didn't put it in a pile!!

I have to say I really like this setting - so I have cut some more Flags for Sue to use as leader enders and brought out a few more panels that were marinating in my stash!!!

This ended up being 62 x 80 !! Perfect Quilt of Valor size!!

My Rabbit Hole quilt :

I know this - but I never remember this - Jelly rolls - or Strip packs have 40 strips - NOT 42!!! So when I do my math - I am always wrong *ugh*

I can't quite make a 6 x 7 setting - with 40 strips - so I started thinking about stars - the ones from my happy half square project - specifically - Block 3 ( pattern Is free on my blog)

so I decided to make some stars and see what I think - here is where I am!!

Full disclosure - we also decided to do this Jelly Roll 18 block for our QOV sew day - and!! now!! we are going to add the stars - and it will be like Stars and Stripes!!!

Made with my favorite color !! Plaid !! - and red white a blue !

Of course - it will be a Quilt of Valor 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I went down the Rabbit Hole, Saw a squirrel and made a hard right.....

a bit ago I was browsing blogs - and I was reading LA Paylors blog . She mentioned the Jelly Roll 18 pattern, so I went googling, and I found it - and a You Tube video ...and there was a printable pattern....

then!! I drug my husband all over the state and of course, might have bought a strip pack ( they didn't call it a jelly roll, but same idea....

And then it got hot.....

So!! Ta da!!! I have started a new quilt - and!! used one of the things I purchased!! ( the Bernatex strip pack from On Pins and Needles

Go me!!!

How many of you will attend the Weld County Fair in Greeley Colorado?

You can enter the fair now - deadline to register in July 7!
then make sure you come on out to see the Fair - especially the QUILTS!!!!

The fair gives the youth and adults of Weld County an opportunity to exhibit their skills in a wide variety of areas including agriculture, livestock, natural resources, engineering, consumer and family, fine arts, horticulture and family living.

Yellow was another one of our Rainbow challenge colors - and I had fun with it. Yellow is the color of energy - I am sure it energized me at times!!

I quilted it with a Dream puff batting - so the quilting really showed up. Its super soft and drapey too!!
