Teal was the RSC color for July - so the top was finished by then - but!! the big goal was to quilt it before August was over.

Success!!! I had fun quilting it !! the back is paisley too - Yay!

I had the privilege of quilting this quilt , and I LOVED it!! But!! when she showed it off a guild - I fell in love again.

I just love these colors and all the happy that they bring - but! seeing how the quilting stood out - made my heart really happy!

I used a combo of stencils and free hand quilting ;-)

Thank you Ms L for letting me work on your masterpiece!

Orange Rainbow Scrap Challenge

Well - I am having fun with this one - I have a crazy idea, and we will see if it pans out. But - did you know that we are running out of August? Hunh - Not happy about that.

I do have all the blocks done.

I am working on the layout

Maybe by the end of the week it will be a top

Before you tell me blocks are out of order - they aren't - I have an idea... I feel that I can make this look like what I see in my head. Maybe. Sometimes what I see isn't what others can see - hunh! I think that explains my problems right there.... maybe my brain is disordered haha!🤣🤣

The best thing about my *Month of me* ? I am finding things that I forgot about ;-)

Back in 2021 - I saw these blocks on Bonnie Hunters site, and then I saw them on Quilt Fabrications, and then the EQ blog - and I made TWO... TWO people , and I pulled fabric to make more, and then I am not sure what happened!!

Probably I had to clean off my sewing table to do that dreaded binding of some quilt, and I just piled them places... but now!! They are out again!!

I had two blocks and just fabric in the pile and now..

And 4 more cut out! These are detailed little buggers! But aren't they cute?

In June my friend Deb and I led our Quilts of Valor sew day experience ! Deb had embroidered all these amazing squares.

I designed the Quilt around them, and cut the blocks for our group to stitch.

Blocks were made - and I came home and threw them on the design wall.

This is Number 1 of the Two Quilts we made blocks for.

each embroidery block is different, and we used them in the center of the stars. Then did a chain block - and Ta - Da!!

Indigo Way Progress

I have the inner top done!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

I think I know the reason I don't tackle a lot of quilts like this. I am kinda ready for it to be done. Which probably alludes to the whole * I have no patience * thing.... ah well - at least its pretty!

I didn't like the busy ness of the setting triangles that Bonnie had in her pattern. Well, in reality, I didn't like the amount of time it was going to take to make the setting triangles that Bonnie had in her pattern - so I went with solid white.

I am going to add a small border and then do something else in the outer border - just not 100% sure WHAT yet. It will come to me at 2 in the morning!

I do have extra pieces left from not making the setting triangles.

My Husband so kindly reminded me that my Month of Me is half over - oh the pressure to get SO much more done, and goof off at the SAME time !!

Pink Lemonade Table Runner:

Way back in January 2023 I made some Pink Lemonade tops - and of course... I had left overs.

It was time... Time to put those leftovers into something and get it out of the to Quilt pile...

Its super scrappy and super leftover-y - but!! I like it. I put in on our entry table and of course... Its already got piles on it - but! Its cute and happy and brings some light into the house.

My String Quilt is FINISHED!!! and... I still have strings - just not in those colors anymore ;-)

I really like the Darker Blue in the center of the string block. I think it provides some consistency to the chaos that is (are) String Quilts.

Baby Bella Loves it too.... She is very protective of my quilts. However she does think that fleece blankies are hers for the terrorizing... and dragging around the house, and up on the couch, and in front of the window.

I quilted flowers all over it. I think it reminds me of a Flower garden - that Riot of color!!

I can not procrastinate any more... my list says so!!!
AS the block are finished I am getting them up on the design wall . It is a busy one , wish me luck

Oh and the log cabins are part of a Block drive for our QOV - Patricia sent them to me and I just had to ohh and ahh ;-)

In my continuance of the *Month of Me* it was time to dig in to the stash to find Orange. Orange is the Rainbow scrap challenge color this month.

I do not have a lot of orange - is that because I have used it? Or not shopped enough for it? But wait!!! what is that in my Husbands closet - an Orange Plaid shirt.... heck fire!

I am in business!!! All the oranges have been pulled- and now! are cut into 5 inch squares - so I can continue my goal of making a Lightning Streak Quilt top per month.....

June’s rainbow scrap challenge color was Blue !!

I had a huge variety of blues in my 5 inch square box - and decided that I like the look of Blue and white ! So that is what I paired it with .

Got it made in June - quilted and bound in July ! ( okay it was almost midnight on the 31st / but still ! )

And now!!’ It joins the others 🙂

My Goofy Geese Quilt top is now Quilted!!!

I always have a leader/ender project going while sewing - and one day I decided I had enough l/e Geese... so I threw them up on the design wall and let the wind blow them any which way.

Not really - but!! The Geese were being goofy and going in all sorts of directions - so I let them!!!

Last night at our Guild meeting it was asked what you use to write on your labels.

My June Blue RSC top is done!! Off to pick a backing and see if I can get it quilted before the end of July....

Ohhhh i remember seeing a blue and white stripe somewhere in my stash - like a chambray color... that might be cool for a back.... if I can find it again!!!

Back in April I needed the *in between* Leader/ender project I could use with all the T shirt Quilts I was making. I decided to make a Churn Dash Block a Day and at the end of April - had 30 blocks!!

Go me!!

My *Just One Thing* Churn Dash is now complete!!!

( and yes, I may have started another *sigh*)

Talk to me Goose.... How big does a King size quilt REALLY need to be?

I have been quilting some amazing King Sized Quilts for Clients recently (seriously - it has been a run on King Sized - I think I am on my 18th one this year!! LOVE it!) - but they all range in size -

96 x 100
100 x 100
115 x 115
120 x 120
100 x 120

When I ask google the size of a King Mattress I get 76 x 80 and so I measured my bed - because!!! I got a King sized bed last year, and now it needs its own quilt.... mine is 76 x 80 in.

Do I really need a 100 x 100 sized quilt for it? If you have one that is that big - how do you like it on your King? Does it fall to the floor?

I am kind of thinking 86 x 90 would be a good size - but then - am I right??

Hope everyone had a great 4th!!! Ours started out cool - so we got all the horses ridden!! It was awesome!!

And funnily enough - I actually have a Patriotic Finish !! That was not intentional - I swear ( I am really not that organized) but I like how it worked!!

I made these blocks Many years ago - I even have a Tutorial for them!

I am pretty sure I showed you this when it made it top stage - but now!! It has made it to Quilted Stage!!!

These blocks were made by the Quilters at Sew Downtown and given to my Quilt of Valor group to make Quilts. of course, I snuck in a stole a few blocks to make this quilt top... and

now I have added the Quilting. YAY

It will now go to the next person to get the binding - and will soon be awarded as a Quilt of Valor

I get teased a lot about my Leader/Ender projects - and I get picked on about the piles by my sewing machine - but I am a DEDICATED Leader/Ender person!! My Grandma used this method when stitching garments, and she would have Quilt blocks made at the end of making a dress... She used them to *stitch off* the garment, and to make sure the needle didn't get stuck in her good fabrics...

Well!!! I have been making Half squares ( ahem - I know!!) with my 5 inch squares here and there, and assembling them into flying geese.

Thursday night I might not have been able to sleep so I started throwing those Goofy Geese up on the wall...

And I might have decided I kind of liked that random pattern - so I added some creams and white, played a little tetris with figuring how to piece it - and now!! I have a 60 x 70 ish top!!!

Love this colorful Quilt of Valor !! My friend Terri’s sister Susan made it !

I quilted it with the pattern called sparklers from Dawna's Design Threads

Each one of those stars has an eagle in the center of it 🦅 the veteran who recieves this one is going to LOvE it !!

Today is Finished ( or not) Friday on my blog - and there are so many cool quilts to look at... My Finish is my May Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt.

My challenge is to :
1: Use the color chosen
2: Finish the top in the month that the color is chosen
3: Quilt the top by the end of the next month

This month!!! I won! I snuck this in between some awesome custom Client quilts.....
