Trying to get a little ahead .... and the bobbin decided to not stitch its tensions right ....

I haven't had to unstitch quilting in a Loooonnnnng time ....

15 minutes of happy quilting is equaling 1 hour of frogging . That doesn't seem fair 🤣😂🤣😂

Star and Crown Progress:

Back in January - Pat Speth talked at our guild ( via zoom)

We were inspired by her Star and Crown blocks - and at our January Quilt Of Valor sew day -we started making blocks.

I put the blocks in a container to marinate - and then last week - the bucket magically appeared on my sewing table .... so I went to work.....

Got all the Blue Blocks finished, and started on the rest of the reds......

as of last night :

I actually got two more of the Red Blocks finished, but they weren't ironed when I went to take a photo.... I can feel the end of the quilt now.... Must.... Keep.... Quilting.....

Not so finish Friday: I had this top topped - but it needs borders - and so I was going to audition borders, attach them and!!! Quilt it...

Audition 1 (photo 2) -- Vickie and I decided nope - wrong shade of blue

So I tried #2 ( photo 3) and yep!!! We liked it!!

Ta Da!! ( photo 4)
I got the borders on, and there it sits.... waiting to have a backing and get quilted....

I guess two out of three isn't so bad?

Got a chance to get one of those Disappearing 4 patch Quilts quilted!! We found a cool spot on the porch and spread out for our photo... the girls knew you would understand their relaxed attitude today!

Now it will go to another to bind - and then off to be a Quilt of Valor

Are you ready to Vote? Voice an opinion? Well this is a fun one - because no matter which design is chosen.... A Veteran wins ( as in it becomes a Quilt of Valor to be awarded)

The Story:

I went down a Rabbit Hole and followed the link to a Jelly Roll 18 Pattern... it was awesome, and then!! I wanted stars - so I looked at my Own Happy Half Square Blocks page - Chose HHS Block 3 - and I made a Quilt.

But then!! I started dreaming it in Patriotic Fabrics... and then!! I realized we had a Sew Day coming up, and my Quilting Friends are the Absolute best - and they love to create things that I dream up... I also bring them chocolate.

We made a bunch of Jelly Roll 18 Blocks , and a bunch of HHS3 Blocks and came up with some layouts!!

A Finish!!! This was a fun challenge quilt. We were given a photo from which to extract the color palette - and then! Create a quilt.

I had a lot of fun sorting thru my fabrics to find the right colors to match the photo. And then - it needed a pop !

So I added the Orange to make everything just sing. and now!!

Disappearing 4 patch Quilts!!

Or at least That's what I think the block is!!

My guild made these blocks for our Quilts of Valor group, and two months ago some of the ladies started rowing them..

and this month - I took the rows and topped them!

and then Bella Modeled them for you - and look Mom!!!

My paws are NOT on top of the quilts!

August's RSC:

I think it is aquamarine - but I am choosing Teal or maybe some is Aqua - anyway.. I am in the same color family.... its just what I have!

I pulled a Pile of 3 1/2 inch strip scraps. I am sure that I got carried away cutting on one of my projects, and then they just went in the bucket....

So I cut them all 6 1/2 inches long -and got started on:

This 👇- the pattern I saw was called a Family Sized Potato Chip Quilt - and I can not find the link I used - but it starts like a Potato Chip block but you just keep going.... This is as far as I got by Sunday night - when I had to go play with the puppies.
