Cupcake is doing well. She almost took a treat from me all the while telling me just how much she didn’t not trust me. She did eat the treats when I set them down and let me sit by her outside her pen. She still won’t let hubby near her stays on other side of pen. But it’s progress.

Mahrya, Gunner and Teagan are the family who set out to save this girl we rescued today. She contacted at least 10 rescues to try and get her rescued. This potentially could be a difficult rescue given this pig has been running the neighborhood and not contained in a fenced area. We could not have done this without their help and the help of our friends Patrice Mayberry and Lee Mayberry. We fortunately we able to get her in the trailer on the second try which we were very grateful for. Unfortunately the people where she stayed were not the kindest towards this pig and poor Teegan saw some treatment towards the pig that wasn’t the kindest and upset her. We let her know that she was now safe and wouldn’t have to endure anymore unkind behavior. How this sweet little girl cared about this pig was so pure and heartwarming. She wanted to name her. Welcome Miss Cupcake 💕. We will update more tomorrow after Cupcake has a little time to decompress tonight.

Prayers needed we are on our way to do an emergency 🆘 ‼️ rescue of a pig to prevent her from being shot. She unfortunately is not contained in a fenced area. Fingers crossed 🤞 we can get her and bring her to safety.

Maple update!

She is doing so well. Her tail is always wagging. She loves to eat and currently eating 6-7 lbs of food a day. She is filling out and beautiful girl.

Look at all these sweet babies. New property did well with big storm no damage. Pigs thought it was great all the holes they dug filled automatically with water. We are excited by no lingering mud for weeks. Maple is doing great! That’s Buddy, the piglets and Benjamin who is a naughty boy but a big love. Thank you all for the outpouring of love with the loss of our Goldie. Her buddy Tiny has been having a rough time without his friend he’s finally eating and back up getting in wallows again. We worry about him as he is also old for a farm pig at 9 years old.

We are heartbroken this morning we found Goldie had crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge. She was one of the oldest pigs we had at 11 or 13 which is old for a farm pig and had arthritis with some mobility issues. She was a sweet, happy gal who after being by herself for many years joined Tiny who also by himself most his life. They loved hanging out together and getting muddy. Fly high and move easy sweet girl until we meet again. 😇 We will be burying her and putting a memorial stone and plant a fruit tree in her memory. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Maple update! She’s doing great. Eating lots of food, resting and taking her pain medicine. Her only complaint is we had to take her big water trough out as she’s not allowed to submerge in it 😭. So she gets sprinkled down to stay cool.

Thank you for all the prayers 🙏 ! Maple and Holyfield did well with their surgeries and are on their way home. Vet does not think Maple is over a year old and she only weighed 238lbs. Even better their vet bill was a little over $100 less than estimated.

We need your help!! We have her spay scheduled for 7/2. Our vet is able to do her rather than having to take her to a university. Her spay will be about $650 depending on her actual weight. We’ve already had a generous donor give $200 towards this cost. We would love to fundraiser rest of this cost. Any amount is helpful no donation is too small!

Maple has arrived! She arrived this morning after traveling all night. She is so sweet. She checked out her new space then decided it was nap time from her all travels 🤣. Baby slurps are the best. Buddy is growing and eating pretty good these days while we wait on a plan from UT. Dodge update!! I am amazed at his resiliency. From first time I met Dodge 24 hours after a horrible car accident where he had this very blank stare almost lifeless look in his eyes and he had trouble walking and very wobbly. He lost his brother 😢. We were told he had a T2 fractured vertebrae did not see any obvious brain damage however it was obvious he was neurologically. They thought he maybe blind. With some rest, time and love he is totally different pig. I wasn’t sure how well he could see but today I know he can see at least some as he explored and did not bump into anything and is looking towards you and up. Most of all he has life back in his eyes 👀. He’s piggy downers and tail wag is to die for!! We cannot Thoink you all for the prayers and donations towards his recovery. Piglet update!! Thoink you all for the encouragement, fundraising and prayers about this lil boy. We named surviving piglet Dodge (as in Dodge Ram tough). We think he may have a concussion or head injury however he is eating and drinking with encouragement. He continues to be at UT and will have a CT scan to check his head and jaw as he may have injured it also as he will only eat on one side of his mouth. Please continue prayers for this little boy who they believe is 4-5 weeks old and only weighs about 4 1/2 lbs. We are praying for a Pigmas miracle for Dodge to be home by Christmas.
