Here's another "mean" (informative) post.
Folks, breeding marms is not gonna get you out of debt and it's not nearly as easy as you may think. When you raise 2 marmosets together it doesn't matter if they aren't related they consider themselves siblings and the chances of them breeding are slim to none. What happens is they not only become aggressive towards humans they also become aggressive towards each other because they want to reproduce but NOT with their sibling. Sometimes one will even end up being killed.
Even if you put 2 adults together that doesn't mean they will breed. They may not even get along and fight. I have many pairs that have been together for years and they have never bred. They're just friends. If they were hand raised by humans they don't make good parents so you have to take care of the babies from the first hour of life, if you get to them before they are killed or die. You have to keep them at the right temperature, temperature fluctuations will kill them. The humidity has to be at the right level. They are super easy to aspirate and also can get bloat. They have to be fed every 2 hours around the clock and the majority of people can't keep them alive. These tiny monkeys are very fragile.
Many females have complications and most vets even if they treat marms won't do a c-section on one. So they die. Do you have the 1,200 or 1,500 if you find a vet to do a c-section? Knowing the female and babies will most likely die anyway, would you pay that much hoping to atleast save the mom? Do you have 4,000 to 4,500 to get another female and hope the female accepts your male cause not all of them will and if she doesn't she could kill your male. But if you don't get another female your male may die of depression from losing his girlfriend. People that have zero experience, they've never even raised a marm or have one that's a few months old think they are gonna be a breeder. It's mind blowing to me. Raise one, spend tons of time with them. Get them spayed or neutered, have a great companion while gaining experience about the species. Then after you've had them for a few years you'll know something about them instead of just attempting to breed something you know nothing about. How many will die while you're just winging it?
It's a lot more complicated then just throwing two marms in a cage and getting rich. In fact, if you do it right, you don't make much money at all.
