November is Senior Pet Month! Take this time to celebrate the dogs and cats who’ve been by our sides through every stage of life. 🐾

Senior pets now make up 44% of the pet population, and they deserve care that meets their changing needs with compassion and expertise.

The 2023 AAHA Senior Care Guidelines for Dogs and Cats help veterinary teams create practices that don’t just accommodate senior pets but actively welcome them—with attention to medical care, behavioral needs, environmental comfort, and client communication.

Empower your team to be champions for senior pets. ❤️

👻 Halloween Safety Tips for Pets 🎃

🍫 No human treats!

Chocolate is toxic to pets. If your pet eats chocolate, contact an emergency veterinarian right away.

🚪 Trick-or-treat visitors can be spooky!
Witches, skeletons, and noisy trick-or-treaters may frighten your pet. Consider setting them up in a quiet room away from the door with a long-lasting treat.

💀 Scared pets may bolt and run.
Double-check that your pet’s ID tag and microchip info are up to date.

👗 Costumes aren’t for everyone.
Many pets do not appreciate wearing costumes. If your pet isn't used to wearing clothes already, skip the Halloween costume. If you do dress them up, make sure the costume doesn't restrict movement, vision or cause overheating.

Keep Halloween safe and stress-free for your pets—they’ll thank you with extra tail wags, not tricks! 🐶💕
