Alumni Update from Monica- Just wanted to touch base about Sammy.
Its been 4 years since we adopted this crazy boy. He loves being outside with his favorite toy and going for walks. He sure loves to bark at everything. We couldn't imagine our lives without him. ❤️🐾❤️

November Needs at the Kewanee Shelter- canned pate cat food, canned dog food, dry kitten food, dry adult Purina complete cat food (blue bag). Other needed items are disinfecting wipes, spray cleaners like 409 or Clorox with bleach, large boxes of baking soda, clumping kitty litter and paper towels. Thank you! ❤️🐾❤️

Kitty Lucky wasn’t feeling so lucky when she had to return to the Shelter for her last Distemper vaccination. Evidently weighing her on our scale did not make her happy and the vaccination added to her crabby mood. Lucky’s cat mom says she’s never heard her even hiss before, so time for Lucky to go back home where she feels safe, secure, and loved. ❤️🐾❤️

These are the 3 bunnies. Two females and one male. They are all siblings and came from the same litter. They are I believe like 6-7 months old. My kids have handled them every day so they are friendly and don’t bite. For questions call 309-883-6831

Alumni Update from Cindy- Phoenix (black) has taught her 14 year old brother Poppy to dance for treats!!! They have become best friends. ❤️🐾❤️

Shelter pup Roman was so funny and outgoing but easily distracted and he was sure was lacking in obedience training. We did accomplish the sit command with him at the Shelter, but look at the amazing job Hannah is doing with his training. What a smart boy you are Roman! ❤️🐾❤️

Alumni Update from Anna- We LOVE Ginny!! We call her Gigi ❤️🐾❤️

Toshka……what can we say to convince someone to give him a chance? He is so loving to us, but please understand he’s intimidated by strangers. He will warm up to you, we promise! It just takes time and you need to give him a chance. Toshka does not especially care for other dogs and no cats, but he will provide you with all the love and snuggles that you will ever need. He warms up more quickly to women than men, I’m sure that has something to do with his past. But he has made friends with many of our male Shelter volunteers, just takes a bit longer to develop a trusting relationship. Stop by and meet Toshka, remember it will take more than one meeting but you will find out what an amazing dog he is. ❤️🐾❤️

Kewanee Animal Shelter Video Series-Missy

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to introduce you to Missy. When Missy came to us from a rescue, she was so scared that she would growl and show her teeth when we approached her. We let Missy warm up and begin to trust us on her own time. And I must say, we were surprised by the results! We never expected all of the love and cuddles. Missy would do best in a home on the quiet side. We would prefer she went to a home with a fenced in yard and no young children as she still is pretty timid and does not like to be on a leash. We had a beautiful sunny day and Baby Boo took advantage of it! She discovered what fun a simple little ball can be. She is learning to play with toys and loves outdoor time with the other smaller dogs. Baby Boo is waiting patiently for someone to give her a forever home. She is dainty little Chihuahua and weighs in at only 10.1 pounds. She is everyone’s best friend and would make a perfect lap dog. Be sure and stop by the Kewanee Shelter and meet this little sweetheart. Visiting hours are 8-11:00 am and 5-7:00 pm everyday of the week. ❤️🐾❤️
