It is Summer Vacation Time!!

We would like to let everyone know that there is a rise in Bordetella aka โ€œKennel Coughโ€ cases across Washington County! Keep a look out ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ” for coughing, decreased eating, drinking, and sleeping more. If you notice ANY of these symptoms ๐Ÿ˜ท, please call The Kewaskum Veterinary Clinic at 262-626-2380.

Where do dogs get exposed to Bordetella?
EVERYWHERE!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Bordetella is a very contagious bacterium that causes respiratory disease in dogs. Dogs can get Bordetella by inhaling bacteria when visiting places where other dogs have visited, such as dog parks, boarding facilities, groomers, or doggy daycare. Once your pet has become infected, they continue to spread it for up to 3 months, even if they are not showing symptoms.
Make sure you are washing your hands๐Ÿงผ๐Ÿงฝ before and after visiting these locations, as Bordetella can survive for up to seven days on surfaces.

Who is this lovely lady!? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ
Kayla W., CSR

Kayla has been voted as May's employee of the month!!! One of the first faces you see when you walk into our clinic, this girl is always such a delight to work with! ๐Ÿ˜ฝ She always has a smile on her face and can always connect with our wonderful clients. A girl who can do it all ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ–ฅ๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ—ฃ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

WE APPRECIATE YOU ๐Ÿ–ค

Kayla has been one of the Customer Service Representatives at Kewaskum Veterinary Clinic since 2018. Although originally from Colorado, she has spent the majority of her life growing up in the heart of the Kettle Moraine. Kayla has always had a strong love for all animals, particularly equine. Kayla shares her home and her heart with her boyfriend, daughter Ashlynn, and a โ€œfewโ€ furry roommates. The inside animals consist of three dogs (Tyson - Rottweiler/hound mix, Chase - Brittany Spaniel, & Otis aka โ€œPup-Pupโ€ - yellow labrador) and four cats (Eddie, Demon, Kevin, and Owen - all DSHโ€™s). Outside you will find five horses (Chloe, Vegas, Izzy, Rip, and Raya) and a few sassy chickens. When Kayla is not at the clinic, she enjoys camping and traveling with her horses, swimming on the pontoon boat, or relaxing on the beach. If that doesnโ€™t keep her busy enough, Kayla also enjoys playing volleyball with friends on a local league and coaching her daughterโ€™s volleyball team.

๐Ÿชฐ๐Ÿ’ฅ KVC ANNOUNCEMENT๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿชฐ
It's that time of the year again! These flat, round, circles [usually found in the fur-less areas] are NOT ringworm, but actually the result of a tiny, pesky fly called "no-see-ums" ๐Ÿ˜ซ They begin to emerge in the warm weather and are commonly found in the grassy areas. Although these bites look scary, they do heal over time and do not require medical help. Mild discomfort may be seen.

PLEASE CALL US IF THE FOLLOWING ARE PRESENT
โŒ raised or swollen rings
โŒ moderate discomfort
โŒ do not disappear after a couple of days
This might indicate something other than a "no-see-um" bite and could require medical treatment.

If you have any other questions, just give us a buzzzzzzzz ๐Ÿ˜…

July 1st
๐Ÿšง๐ŸงฑConstruction update๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿšง
Wisconsin DOT will begin construction on US 45 on July 8, 2024. Please reference below for the recommended detour routes. Please don't forget to add extra drive time to your commute when navigating through Kewaskum.

๐Ÿšง๐ŸงฑConstruction update๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿšง
Starting today (May 3rd) the construction crew has begun to get closer to the Kewaskum Veterinary Clinic.๐Ÿฅ As the construction continues the crew has asked that Any and All drivers that are coming to us put their blinker on and wave๐Ÿ‘‹ at them to gain entrance into the clinic. This will prompt them to move trucks if needed. Starting Monday (May 6th) our driveway will be blocked๐Ÿšง. However, we will remain open. The construction crew will create a temporary driveway to allow access to our parking lot. Again, when you pull up to the entrance, be cautious, have your blinker one and wave๐Ÿ‘‹ to a crew member who will safely direct you through the construction. Thank you for your patience!!

We have created a map of the recommended detour routes to the clinic. We will continue to keep you updated as construction continues.

If you are coming into Kewaskum from the South on US 45.

There are two routes you can take.
Route #1: You are heading North on US 45 and reach the stop light at Dairy Queen. You can continue to go straight through the barricade, but use caution as only one lane on the far left is open.
Route #2: You are heading North on US 45 and reach the stop light at Dairy Queen (and do not want to attempt going through the barricades). Turn left (West) at the light onto Highway H. Go West on Highway H to Edgewood Road. Turn right (North) onto Edgewood Road. Then take the next Right (East) onto Brooklane Drive. Turn left (East) onto Clinton Street. At the stop sign, turn right (South) onto Roseland Drive. The next intersection is US 45. Turn right (South) on US 45 to the clinic.
