A Cause for PAWS Kewaunee County A group of concerned citizens are working to help the lost and abandoned pets of Kewaunee County. Since we don’t have a Humane Society, it is time for action.

It’s time for change, and we need your help.

A Cause For PAWS, Kewaunee County, is looking for volunteers who would like to transport animals from Kewaunee County to the Wisconsin Humane Society at either the Door or Brown County Campus. Please message us if you are interested!

Please be aware citizens who find an unsheltered animal in Kewaunee, Algoma, Luxemburg, and Casco can contact the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) in Door or Brown County to see when their intake hours are so they can bring the animal into WHS. In addition to citizens being able to bring the animals in themselves, we are in the process of working with police in these municipalities to create a process to help transport animals through a volunteer team. The city of Algoma is the only transport team that is up and running at this time. We would like to expand this volunteer service to other municipalities.

And another gathering of kittens who again needed help. They are both ringworm positive.

With medication, they can be healed and go about their lives, hopefully safely in new homes with loving families.

Untreated ringworm can be a tragic end for cats. Not to mention long cold winters and the constant struggle for survival.

May these beautiful babies thrive in a new life of love & good care! Thank you Wisconsin Humane Society for making that possible.

UPDATE****** The owner was notified and has decided not to claim the dog. The dog will be transported to the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Last evening Mike and Ashley Tedeschi were driving on Rendezvous Road when they came upon a large Black dog running in the road. Thankfully, they stopped and brought the dog to their home for the night. Mike and Ashley love animals and saved this dog's life. This is a perfect example of how community members working together can save the life of an animal. A large Black dog on a country road in the dark is at risk of being hit by a car and injured or killed. This could have also resulted in a traffic accident. Mike and Ashley posted on social media about finding the lost dog with his picture.

A Cause For PAWS saw the post and took the dog to be scanned for a microchip. The dog's name is Buddy. We have left a message informing Buddy's owner that he was found by some wonderful people who cared about saving Buddy's life.

Buddy is now safe and sound at the home of Sharon and Lance, until Buddy's owner picks him up.

Another happy ending because of the great people who live in this community! Thank you Mike and Ashley!
