Hurricane Ian looks like it won’t directly hit us, but always good to have shot records on hand in case of any shelter or evacuation with your pets. FYI: All Monroe County shelters are pet friendly but you will need to bring animals with a carrier or cage. Pets may wander off if a home is damaged- This is why microchipping your pet is so important. - AND make sure your info connected with the chip is up to date. Stay dry, everyone. This morning, I walked out my door to find a smashed Heinekin bottle shattered all over the sidewalk. I immediately got to work cleaning it up, not just for my pup, but any animal that might wander into its path of shattered glass. A small shard in a paw can cost hundreds of dollars at a vet (not to mention a need for the hated "cone of shame"). Walkers--keep your eyes out for glass on our sidewalks-- there's a LOT out there. And please, pick up every bit of it if you can-- the shards are the worst!
