To our brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to have what we have today. Many of today's youth are too young or just have not seen or understand what sacrifice truly looks or feels like. Let us teach and share what the true cost of freedom is. A friend or a loved one, a son or a daughter, or a mother or father who is willing to fight for this country and put their lives on the line to pay the price to keep paying the cost so all of us can live a free life. I never thought I would see our country and many of our lawmakers disrespect the freedoms and protections that God has given us and that our brothers and sisters have died for. I pray that God shows them the light and saves the future of this country.

As we remember all of those who have served we pray for your day to be safe, sunny, and free.

Living with Horses

Who would have thought an ocean boy like me would find his calling on land with the horses. My name is Richard Kirkman and I live in a small town in North Florida called Keystone Heights. It is here where I have found so many amazing people. I started back in 2011 rescuing a few horses here and there. The feeling was so rewarding almost addicting.

My background was in business and education. Now I am a horse trainer and lesson instructor at RK Stables. We have four trainers and many more individuals that are making this dream a reality.

It is my belief that everyone should at least once in their lives experience horses. Unfortunatly many stables and barns feel that only the rich should enjoy the horses. Yes, it is costly to care for them but as care takers there is always a way to be able to offer people the ability to see what makes the horses so amazing. My goal is to teach all ages how to ride and correctly care for horses. To enjoy them and give the horse a purpose. The reason my passion is so strong for introducing people to horses is that they have the ability to heal the human soul. When one's heart is broken a horse can help through the pain. If a child has no friends or is just miss understood, a horse can listen and show affection. If a person does not believe in themselves a horse can help them build confidence. I personally have felt this healing power that they have. There is nothing more therapeutic than this.

I hope that no matter where you live you will seek out a barn or stable near you and grab a loved one and spend a few hours with a horse. You do not need to ride just make a friend. Your heart will thank you for it.
