These mortar trays are one of the best options for a worm bin. I've been using them for several years. They are the perfect depth for Red Wigglers.

Tomatoes are finally coming on the vine! I've been adding worm castings about 1 time per month. I was starting to think that I wasn't going to get any this year.

Here's some of the food that the red wigglers got this week. The worms don't go for the apples and oranges right away. They have to break down first and then when the worms feel like it's safe they will come in and eat what's left.

Waiting, waiting...... Leaving this one on the vine as long as possible. Trying to get one more really red and ripe watermelon before the Fall weather kicks in.

First ripe Brandywine hybrid tomato of the season. Mine are just now ripening at the end of the season since I planted late. No chemical fertilizers, just my own worm castings and one application of fish emulsion fertilizer earlier in the season.

I'm very happy with the Brandy Boy variety of tomatoes this year. Since I planted late I'm just now harvesting from the vine. I can't wait to slice into this first one.

My watermelon's seem to be almost doubling in size every day. I gave them some aerated vermicompost tea about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
