Just look at that FACE 🥹
Cissy is believed to be an Australian shepherd mix around 1-3 years of age. She’s here for a very short one week board and train but that doesn’t mean we won’t try to teach her as much as possible while she’s here!
Cissy is available for adoption to through APAC! Reach out if you’d like the link to apply to take this sweet girl home!

This is Sunny, a 1 1/2 year old Blue Lacey! Him and his awesome owners are finishing up some private lessons with me. They are KILLING it!

While he is learning all the new skills like how to walk nicely on leash, stay on a “place” bed, recall, sit, down, etc, his owners are also learning how to confidently reward and correct him when necessary so they can continue to train him throughout his life.
It’s only been 3 lessons and he is already showing significant improvement in his behavior!

Stop forcing your dogs to interact with other animals they don’t want to (or need to) interact with!

If your dog is unfriendly with people or other dogs, the BEST thing you can do is advocate for your dog. Don’t make them go up to strangers and force an interaction that they don’t want or need.

It’s not okay for your dog to be freaking out, barking, lunging, pulling towards another dog or person. They need to know how to be able to coexist in the same room as someone they don’t like. Just like we do. Teach them how to be completely NEUTRAL to their surroundings instead!

They absolutely do NOT need to “play” with some random dog you met on the street. The most important thing in your dog’s life is YOU, and should always be YOU.

How is your relationship with your dog?
Do they listen to you even without food or toys?
Do they look to you for guidance, acceptance, permission?
Do they WANT to be with you, play with you, train with you?
Are they happy ALL THE TIME, to a point of annoyance??

Thinking of adding a new furry friend to your family? Or maybe you already have and are struggling with getting them to settle in?
Here’s how to have a successful transition for both you and the new dog or puppy…
1. Don’t give them a ton of freedom.
The biggest mistake most pet parents make when adding a new pet to their family is allowing them to have full access to their home with no structure or boundaries DAY ONE. This allows for any and all bad behaviors to continue or worse - start. You want the dog to understand that these bad habits and behaviors will not be allowed from the very beginning. The first introduction to your home should ALWAYS be on leash and completely supervised. This way you have guaranteed control of the dog. Set some boundaries and don’t allow them on the couch or bed. This will be extremely important in building clarity in your relationship!
2. Crate train!
There’s no reason to wait to start crating a dog. In fact, if you start day one, they are more accepting of being crated since that is how it has always been. Even a dog that has never been crated in their life can be crate trained. A crate is not only their safe place but where they can sleep without interruption from loud noises, bright lights, etc. (The best place for their crate is in a quiet, DARK room where there’s little no foot traffic.)
3. Probably the most important tip is NEVER LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED!
Domestic dogs are not made to be unsupervised. A good rule of thumb is if you can’t pay attention or keep your eye on them: Put. Them. Away!
Set them up for success rather than failure.
4. Easy on the affection.
This is probably the most difficult one for many pet parents. If you immediate flood them with affection, this can actually hurt your relationship more than help. Most dogs don’t actually want the attention from strangers so immediately forcing them to be touched by you sets a rocky foundation from the start. That doesn’t mean you can pet your dog, just make sure to limit the amount of affection and give them space to adjust and warm up to you and their new home. Hand feeding their meals and go on calm walks instead!

Hello! My name is Sierra and I am the head trainer and owner/operator of Canine Karma Training LLC - Texas.
I specialize in behavior modification and take a relationship-based, balanced approach to dog training. I have been working with pets and their owners for over 8 years! I believe that all dogs need play to have a happy fulfilled life and a that dog’s desire for training should be foundationally reward driven.
I have always been passionate about animals from a young age and dreamed of having a career in the pet industry. I started my own business (Blazing Tails Dog Training) several years ago and trained and learned from a variety of dogs in those years. Before that I was boarding dogs in my home and walking dogs in my neighborhood and surrounding areas for several years.
I have always had a passion for the psychology behind the behavior of animals which made me realize that I could not stand aside and watch my clients struggle with their dog’s behavior. And so in 2022, I began offering training to my boarding clients and realized - THIS is what I want to do for the rest of my life!
In 2024, I decided to take my training and expertise to the next level and apprentice with David and Isabela Herbert of .karma.training in Virginia and expand the brand to Texas. After months of shadowing, training client dogs daily, and even taking charge of the board and train program, I now specializes in rehabilitating and modifying the behavior of dogs! My talent for understanding the behavior of animals and their owners has led to success in rehabilitating dogs having issues with aggression, fear, separation issues, and more. I look forward to helping your dog have the best life possible too!

‼️ Heidi still needs a home! ‼️
Heidi is a female Belgian Malinois with s***k! She not only has a great personality, she is also just an all around GOOD dog. She walks nice on leash, is easy to groom, shows no aggression or reactivity to people or dogs, is crate trained, and house broken. She knows sit, down, place, heel (even flips into it!), recall, and has great foundations for learning lots of other things! She has been a joy to train and she lights up every room with her happy little face. She would make a great companion (she loves everyone!). She does not do well with having to directly interact with other female dogs so there should be no other female dogs in the home. She LOVES male dogs!
Let’s help Heidi find her forever home so please share this post on your story to spread the word! Willing to travel! (Currently I’m in Virginia and will be making the trek back down to Texas in a couple weeks)karma.training

Happy 3rd birthday to the bestest boy in all the land! 🎉
I remember when I picked Echo up at 9 weeks old, he was the most perfect puppy I had EVER seen! I feel so blessed to have such an obnoxiously handsome dog and it still blows my mind that I get to be his handler!
Now he’s officially a MAN 🤯

No dog is too little or too old to be trained. Even the frenchies, Cosmo & Miley can do it!
