This is how reliable we are at Kimberton Critter Care. We waited until after 8pm and threat of lightning had passed, went to our clients who are out of power and we turned out their beloved horses and mucked the stalls by flashlights!

Patches urgently needs a home. 💔

This sweet pup is often overlooked by potential adopters, but it is urgent that she finds a place outside of the shelter to rest her head.

Patches suffers from food allergies that can make her skin flare red and itchy. While this can be very easily managed in a home, it is a bit more difficult in shelter, as she can find fallen treats and other food items she should not have more readily.

But despite her allergies, Patches is still the most loving and grateful dog. She was rescued by our Animal Law Enforcement team last year, but her spirit has never dulled. She adores being with people, exploring new things, and working on new tricks.

As more days pass, it's heartbreaking to see this sweet girl miss out on the love, stability, and companionship she so desperately craves.

If you can foster Patches, please email [email protected].

If you can open your home and your heart to her permanently, please stop by our shelter and head to the adoptions desk!

⚠️WE NEED BEDDING⚠️

Our Philadelphia headquarters is almost all out of blankets and beds for our animals. If you have any to donate, Cake Batter and his friends would greatly appreciate it!

We could use soft blankets, comforters, large dog beds, and cat beds.

Donations can be dropped off at our shelter or sent to 350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134.

Thank you!

Just when we thought we saw the worst, a dog in even worse condition shows up.

This is Chance. Quite honestly, we know nothing about her. One of volunteers at ACCT Philly posted her in a rescue group and the picture is all we needed. We immediately emailed to tag her. We don’t know her age or the circumstances of how she showed up at the shelter but we know she is a walking skeleton at just body score of 1 (emaciated), she’s suspected post partum and she’s being very sweet with the staff at the shelter.

She will be arriving at the rescue tomorrow where she will begin the road to recovery. We will be making sure she sees our vet asap to get bloodwork and to put together a plan for her.

Please consider helping us with her initial vet care and diagnostics. Thank you.

Did you know?

Back in the early days of his career, Sylvester Stallone was so broke he ended up homeless and unable to buy food. At his lowest point, he realized he had no option but to sell his beloved dog and best friend, Butkus, whom he simply couldn't afford to feed.
After selling Butkus to a stranger for $25, he walked away crying.
Just two weeks later, Stallone saw a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner. It inspired him so much, he wrote the script for Rocky. As he started approaching movie studios, he had one request: he would star in the movie. With offers for as much as $350,000, Stallone still refused until they agreed for him to play the lead.
But the compromise came at a cost, with Stallone instead receiving just $35,000 for his script.
The first thing the actor did when he received the money was return to the liquor store where he had last seen Butkus. After standing there for three days, he saw the man who had purchased his dog approaching and begged to buy his dog back.
It would cost him $15,000, but it was worth every cent to Stallone. Butkus would appear in the film with his owner.
Rocky went on to be the highest grossing film of 1976 and won three Oscars. It also propelled Stallone to fame.

The woman with the dark hair is my mom. She passed away quickly and unexpectedly when I was 20. Today is her birthday. This little piggie needs to go to a home. This is a mini pig, so this is definitely a pet. Pigs are more intelligent than dogs and do not do well in a shelter situation
