Valley View Ranch Equine Rescue Est. 1985 (501c3 non-profit) is based in King City, Ca is operated by Marlene Dodge as Founder/President. Marlene runs the ranch as a rescue/rehab and sanctuary for the horses that can’t make it through re-hab and re-homing. Marlene is also very active in rescuing horses from auctions and transporting rescued horses from one site to another. This transport and aucti

on rescue service has forged friends across the country and has provided an amazing network to communicate the need for rescues, connect orphan foals with nurse mares. This network also unites to support horses and owners that have suffered natural disasters, or domestic violence and other tragedies that affect the horses in need. Marlene’s rehabilitation program also includes hosting students that want to learn how to run a horse rescue and learn the training process at the ranch. Marlene is a world of knowledge about horses and horse rescue, she is often asked to speak about these topics at events across the country. The ranch is always open though, it’s appreciated that you reach out and call the ranch or connect via messenger before traveling out to the ranch.

I’m headed back to drop off another load of supplies for the Texas panhandle fire victims. If you would like to donate towards this project. I am currently helping fleet of angels and equine wellbeing rescue (Arizona) so you can donate to either org to help us get much needed supplies to them.

Also. If you would like to send a message to the group of guys working day and night to get those supplies out to where it needs to go. Just comment on this post and I will cut and paste to a text for them to see.

Our special little mini has been a resident therapy mini for wonderwood ranch for a few years now. We sent him there to help children that were intimidated by bigger horses. He loves doing his “ job”.

I would love to thank our local Monterey county SPCA. They were amazing at helping us replace part of the hay that we lost due to the massive storms here. Not only did they provide 20 bales of hay. They also provided us with 20 bags of senior feed. Bags of dog food, cat food, and some bird feed.
We are eternally grateful for your support and extremely rapid response to our dire situation.
Our horses, dogs, cats and some of the wild birds that haven’t been able to find feed in the non stop barrage of rain/floods Thank You.

We are asking for some help. With the cost of gas rising EVERYTHING is affected. Can you contribute to our regular purchase of hay for the rescued horses from baby to old wise ones? This costs thousands of dollars a year, with this year being a challenge due to this gas crisis. Transportation of the feed is extreme this year! We always have a need to pay for teeth care, vaccines and medical care for the horses we pull from the auctions. Rescuing them is only the first step. Supporting them, training them, re-homing or providing sanctuary is a work of love and… being very honest, your donations help us do this in the best possible way.

Consider a share, a like a comment. It sure helps keep the work of this great rescue group in the eye of the public.
