One of our residents, Tony, took this selfie and wanted me to post this PSA message to y’all:

HEY! You there! THIS JAR IS EMPTY! WHAT’S THE DEAL??

(You see, Tony likes peanut butter. He takes his meds with it, he gets it added to his food when he is needing a little extra oomph…he particularly likes it stuffed in a Kong toy because it is a long lasting snack that way.

If you’d like to help the Toneman out, not to mention all his friends, we would greatly appreciate jars of peanut butter (xylitol free). Oh and while you are at it, paper towels are in short supply as is CLUMPING cat litter.

Thanks for your constant support of KCHS. We couldn’t do it without each and every one of you!)

Happy New Year Kingman! Have you made your New Year's Resolution yet? How about trying Kitten Yoga? We thought this might be fun way to raise money for KCHS. We already have a yoga instructor but we need a place to hold a Sunday afternoon class with about 10 participants that will allow us to bring kittens and maybe offer Mimosas or wine? Any suggestions?

So happy to be wrapping up the year n a positive note. Our favorite bulldog, Duke, went home with his new family, Ariel is starting a new life in Belle Plain and Oliver the cat will be picked up by his new family at Petco this PM. Happy New Year to all of our Adopters and Adoptees!

These two pups are cute and friendly and totally lost. Someone must be missing them. They are obviously well cared for and used to being indoors. Both are males and appear to be around 6 months old. They were found south of Cheney. Our shelter is completely full and they need somewhere to go. If you have any information or would be interested in fostering these pups, please give us a call at 316-542-1812.

Max and Neo is a fantastic company who sells quality dog collars and leashes and lots of other cool dog stuff. Their products are just top notch. But even better, they support rescues and shelters, and a few times a year send us a box of goodies. Free goodies. Many of our adopted doggos get to go home in style because of Max and Neo.

If you are in the market for new dog attire, check them out. And let them know how much you appreciate their good works with rescue orgs.

UPDATE on DAKOTA from his foster family. Dakota is becoming an amazing dog! 💓

We are currently fostering Dakota! He was a bit of a wild one when he first came into the shelter with his 8 siblings, but with time and patience this little guy has became one of the sweetest dogs we’ve had. He loves cuddles, gets along great with my other dogs, and just enjoys life. He is an 8 month old sh*tzu-poodle mix. He could be a perfect family dog with some patience, love, and Cheerios!

A big THANK YOU to the Kingman County 4-H Ambassadors for a hugely successful Chili and Bingo night. Great turn-out! Chili and chicken and noodles were delicious and they raised over $1,100!! Let's do this again!

Our big $500 winner is Deborah Ann.! We couldn't be happier! Deb is our #1 foster mom for the "littles". She's helped us find a lot of homes for our little dogs over the years. What a deserving winner! Merry Christmas Deb!

Our girl Bailey deserves to be out of the shelter for Christmas!! That’s all she wants from Santa. And that’s all we want, too.

She has been with us for over 18 months. Yes, you read that right, 18 MONTHS! July 2022 is when she checked in.

We don’t get it, she is the sweetest, most beautiful girl. Smart and snuggly all rolled up into a big jingle ball. Leashes and treats are her jam, she loves to go for walks and get her biscuits, too.

And here’s the best part, a Christmas angel has sponsored Bailey’s adoption fee!! What?!?! 😇 🎄

That means she can go home with you TODAY, for free, once your adoption application is accepted.

Hey all you dog people, we cats need some attention here now. Awhile back you all went crazy sending puppy food for those darn meer cat puppy things. BUT WHAT ABOUT US?

We are hungry and we need food. Our people are struggling to find big cat food and little cat food of the Purina Chow variety. PLEASE HELP US!!

Also, litter. Yes litter! When a cat’s gotta go, a cat’s gotta go.

We would be purrfectly thankful to anyone who could bring us or send us Purina Cat Chow or Purina Kitten Chow. Plus CLUMPING litter. There’s a difference, our human servants have a hard time cleaning the non clumping stuff, so CLUMPING is where it’s at.

Check our wish list in the comments to find examples of what we need, and feel free to order from there. Or pick up and drop at the Shelter is always an option.

Bailey had the best day out today, promoting KCHS at the Holiday Craft Bazaar for the Kingman Parade Day festivities. She was the bestest girl, so well behaved. She loved all the kids, and just took everything in stride. Thanks to all who showed her some love today, hopefully she will find a home soon!!
