All good things must come to an end.

It is with immense gratitude and love that I announce after 2+ years, I’ve decided to close the shop at the end of the month.

Due to COVID, the price of goods has increased exponentially. That is causing our brands to have to increase their already high prices to keep up. On top of that, shipping delays are making it increasingly hard to be able to plan when anything will get here. Throw in some anti-maskers who like to berate and harass small business owners, and you get a situation that is less than desirable.

While we’re on the topic of anti-maskers, please stop harassing us, stop spamming our instagrams and google pages, stop calling our businesses incessantly, stop coming into our stores and yelling at us, stop threatening lawsuits, just stop. What you don’t understand is that if we get COVID, we not only have to close our businesses for 10-14 days, but we also have to pay to disinfect our stores and all the other costs that come with COVID. We’re small business owners, that would seriously impact our livlihoods. If you don’t want to wear a mask, you don’t have to come in. It’s that easy.

Anyway, as much as I love curating sustainably and ethically made products for all of you, the business itself is just not sustainable anymore. I have nothing but love and gratitude for all of you and will always look back on this time fondly.

The shop will be closing on Nov. 30th or as soon as everything sells, so come in now for 40% off storewide and/or to say hi!

I look forward to walking around town on weekends in the future and seeing all of you. Also, if you’re hiring look out for my resume! I was a paralegal in the city for 8 years before opening up the shop in 2019 and I have BAs in Government and French. I also have extensive volunteer experience as I have been volunteering all over Ulster and Dutchess counties since I was in middle school, as well as in the city and while in college in PA.

Happy Sunday and Happy Pride to the LGBTQIA+ community! I don’t have any specific pride merchandise as I don’t think it’s something a cis woman should profit off of, but I wanted to let you all know that this space is safe for all.

If you’ve been in before, you may have seen these items as I have them year round. I believe that representation matters and I will always try to find things that you can see yourself in.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend! The weather is less than ideal today, so take shelter in all of your favorite local shops and maybe get some last minute presents for the mothers in your life.

A week ago I took a walk all over uptown (walking club with my bestie ) and took approximately 1,000 photos of all the flowers. These ones are from the tree to the side of on Green St.

With the nicer weather tomorrow, get out and smell all the flowers and don’t forget to tell your mothers you love them!

Since everyday is Earth Day in the shop, I thought today would be a great day to introduce you to the newest brand we’re carrying, !

I found these flowers on Fair on my walk into the shop. The flowers are blooming and it’s going to be 74° today! The door is open and the spring sale is still going on!

Kids tees and shorts are now in the shop! These tees are going fast, like so fast that I got them on Wednesday and need a restock ASAP. Thankfully, is a local brand, so I should have more next week!

These tees are all handmade in a barn in Rhinebeck. They use eco friendly inks and the softest cotton shirts that are all ethically produced in the US.

If you don’t see the size you need, check back next week. I’m also going to expand the sizing and get them in adult and baby, so you’ll all be able to match!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we celebrate all women. Let’s celebrate women’s achievements (big or small), let’s amplify women’s voices and let’s not forget that when we all stand together, we are mighty loud.

Tomorrow let’s get back to work. This year’s theme is , so let’s challenge the gender bias, challenge the constant inequalities women face and challenge the status quo.

Most of the brands in the shop do just that. They hire women all over the world, pay them fair wages and give them benefits. In the fashion industry, that’s pretty unheard of.

I started my journey into slow fashion because I became aware of the dangerous and horrifying treatment of workers in the fashion industry, and most of those workers are women. So now, the ethical treatment of workers is the first thing I look into when I choose brands for the shop. I also look for women owned brands and POC women owned brands because I truly believe that women will change this broken world, we just need to amplify our voices.

I think this is what the youths do? Made my first TikTok to let you all know we now have in the store!

We have a lot more colors than just the four shown and we have cases for iPhones 6/7/8, 11 and 12/12 Pro, as well as AirPod and AirPod Pro cases.

Pela cases are the first compostable cases. The average person only keeps their phone for 18-24 months, which means a LOT of plastic phone cases end up as waste for 100s of 1000s of years.

You said you weren’t over tie dye and I listen (sometimes), so we’ve got a new tie dye set in the shop and online!

This set is 100% organic cotton terry, so it is perfect to take into spring and summer.

They hit the shop last week but it took me awhile to get my model ( she’s available for bookings. Please book through me so I can take a manager’s fee😉) to come in and for me to edit the photos (please don’t judge my awful photoshop to remove the card display from the wall and the chair from the corner of the photo), so I’m already out of a size. We have a few more of these Kingston and Hudson Valley bags left.

These are Apolis bags and handmade in Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi mothers who handcraft the bags receive above Fair Trade wages, annual profit dividends and a retirement fund!

They both have water resistant linings and can hold 75-100lbs. They are perfect for the farmer’s market, which happens to be back in town tomorrow!

Hi friends! I’ve been quiet on here because I needed a bit of a break from social media and then when I was going to come back, it no longer felt appropriate.

However, it’s come to my attention that Kingston students are in need of headphones. As I’m sure you know, school is 100% online, therefore students are using their laptops and headphones everyday.

The Everette Hodge Community Center put a call out last night for headphones. They’re looking for new or lightly used headphones with microphones on them too (these smarties need to answer questions).

I had a surprise package this morning. It wasn’t a present, I just forgot I ordered more collars and CATNIP toys.

One week until Christmas! If you want to the favorite auntie or uncle, get your niece or nephew one of the dolls (we have both pictured plus so many more).

Not only will your niece or nephew love them, but your sister or brother will too because they teach kids about giving back. For every doll sold, 10 meals are given to kids in need. This year, our little store gave 400 meals!! 400!! And we only had them in store since August!

I’ve been getting these dolls for my nieces and nephews for years and they love them. Today is actually my sweet nephew, Griff’s 2nd birthday. Of course, I got him a new doll, but due to the condition of the roads, I’m unable to bring it to him. Thankfully FaceTime exists because I was able to see him and show him his present and you know what he did???? HE HUGGED THE PHONE!! And said he loved him. Seriously, kid’s love them even through the phone.

We’re open AND we have the perfect snowflake ornaments to commemorate the snowfall.

All of our ornaments are made by a local HV artist named Polly Myhrum. She’s actually been making pottery for my family for as long as I can remember. My mom had a gift shop (think Hallmark but better) in Highland when I was young and she carried Polly’s pottery.

Having something in my shop that my mom also had is so special for us. After all, my mom has given me a lot of things (frizzy curly hair, great skin [still don’t need Botox], not her blue eyes), but my favorite is the drive and mental strength (also physical - we’re both surprisingly strong, but that’s not the point) to have a small business. So thanks to my mother for all the gifts you’ve given me and the world.

Anyway, we’ll be open until 5ish if you want to stop in or order online!

Our Newest brand comes from across the pond! is a fair trade children’s brand and one of the first fair trade certified brands in the UK.

Nick, the founder of Little Green Radicals, says he knew he wanted to create a fair trade company, but had no idea what he wanted to sell. That was until he read about the realities of cotton farming.

The price of cotton fluctuates often and many times it drops so low that the farmers can’t cover their costs, especially when they use pesticides. Because LGRs is fair trade, the farmers get a guaranteed price for their cotton and a premium, which they decide what to do with. Fair trade also means good working conditions throughout their supply chain.

LGR also uses only ORGANIC materials. Did you know that cotton is one of the most intensely sprayed crops? That’s not only bad for the farmers who have to spray the pesticides but also for the planet and the humans who have to wear the finished products. LGR clothes are all made from 100% organic and fair trade cotton.
