I’ve been bad about getting good pictures, but here is a little Brother update featuring his cute nose! Brother is making great progress working on his leading, petting, and lunging. The wins for today were finally getting his mane all the way brushed out and him feeling comfortable with me putting the noseband of his new halter on and off while keeping his head lowered. Today I started working on being able to pet him with both hands, which he thinks is a little scary still 🤪. This morning he initiated wanting pets on his head which is an exciting development! 💚

Day 2 of working with #8751. He did great with leading and I’m super happy with the progress we made with letting me pet him. This gelding seems pretty levelheaded and wasn’t bothered at all by all the kids, animals, and cars going by his pen.

This weekend marks 3 years since Pippin became mine. I can’t believe it’s already been 3 years with him, it feels like just yesterday that we were picking up my awkward little weanling. I’m so thankful for all the memories with him and I can’t wait to make even more 🤍.

It's been an exciting time in Suki's life lately 😁! Her first few rides under saddle are in the books. They went so well, and I'm super pleased with this smart little mare 🖤. ✨️A little Rio gotcha day appreciation post ✨️. 2 years ago, I was on my way to a horse show and was talking to my mom about different horse prospects for me. (I was hoping for a young flashy mare 😅). A friend texted me right then and said she found me a PERFECT horse. She had found me an older bay gelding with no markings, but I knew that he was the one and that I needed him. He was the first horse everyone had agreed on. I was so worried that he would sell over the weekend while we were showing out of state. I convinced my mom to bring the trailer with us to go try him the day we got home from the show. Going into trying him, I already knew I was going to bring him home unless he turned out to be crazy 😅. I climbed on him for the first time and knew that he was the one. I have had so many hopes and dreams for him from the very beginning. He's just fulfilled them in different ways than I was expecting and for the better! Rio has changed the way I view horses forever, and I am so grateful. He has opened so many unexpected doors for me and has taught me so much. We have had a lot of ups and downs, so much rehab work, countless bodywork appointments, and figuring each other out. But I am so thankful for this big quirky pony 🤍. Cheers to 2 years!
