It's been an exciting time in Suki's life lately 😁! Her first few rides under saddle are in the books. They went so well, and I'm super pleased with this smart little mare 🖤. ✨️A little Rio gotcha day appreciation post ✨️. 2 years ago, I was on my way to a horse show and was talking to my mom about different horse prospects for me. (I was hoping for a young flashy mare 😅). A friend texted me right then and said she found me a PERFECT horse. She had found me an older bay gelding with no markings, but I knew that he was the one and that I needed him. He was the first horse everyone had agreed on. I was so worried that he would sell over the weekend while we were showing out of state. I convinced my mom to bring the trailer with us to go try him the day we got home from the show. Going into trying him, I already knew I was going to bring him home unless he turned out to be crazy 😅. I climbed on him for the first time and knew that he was the one.
I have had so many hopes and dreams for him from the very beginning. He's just fulfilled them in different ways than I was expecting and for the better! Rio has changed the way I view horses forever, and I am so grateful. He has opened so many unexpected doors for me and has taught me so much. We have had a lot of ups and downs, so much rehab work, countless bodywork appointments, and figuring each other out. But I am so thankful for this big quirky pony 🤍. Cheers to 2 years!
