✨SPECIAL NEEDS✨
Callie came to us a few years ago after a community member cared for her and her kittens she had in a shed. The kittens found homes but she needed a place and we opened our doors. Callie was adopted shortly after coming to us but started showing issues with her mouth and was returned to us. It turned out she had stomatitis which is,unfortunately, very common in cats. Callie had some teeth removed but the issues came back. She had more teeth removed and then was started on steroid injections every 6-8weeks. A few weeks ago she had the rest of her teeth removed and is so far doing good. If you are familiar with this condition, you know care will continue to be ongoing. Silver is about 5 months old. He is an affectionate boy and loves his toys and roommates. Silver was captured as a tiny kitten at an areas we were working for TNR and has been fostered the last few months. 🌈🌈 We regret to inform everyone, Scrappy took a bad turn today and was immediately taken back to the vet. His breathing was very labored. During his exam it was discovered he had fluid in his abdomen cavity, and he further declined in the short time at his appointment. We opted to give him a peaceful end, but he passed before they were able to complete the procedure 😢 Doc highly suspected Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Thank you to everyone that supported this sweet kitty through all his initial medical issues when he came to us and those who donated recently.

We are looking to hire Kennel Attendants who are 18 and over, reliable, mature, and quick learners. It will be only 4 hours per shift for 2 or more days (weekends and holidays included). It can be a hard, demanding position but so rewarding for these animals. The pay is $10.00 per hour. Our hiring is simple, come in and volunteer one-half hour to show your skills and speak with us. Our boy Scrappy has some kind of infection going on and was out on antibiotics and steroids. We are hoping to see an improvement in the next day or so but he may need additional test to determine if there is anything else going on. So far diabetes and kidney issues have been ruled out. For those that don’t remember, Scrappy came to us severely ill and had to have all his teeth removed. He stayed looking rough but is a total sweetheart. Yesterday’s visit was just under $300. Very late THANK YOU post to our local Bealls! Several weeks ago they held a donation drive for us, and we received lots of goodies that included; toys, treats, pet hygiene items and more! Each item was individually bagged, and we have been happily unwrapping everything a little at a time. Our pets have been enjoying all the new items 🤗
