With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited ​
-Keep your pet hydrated​
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment​
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves​
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately. ​

Yesterday we had our doctors, Dr. Jimenez & Dr. D***s along with LVT Yessenia visit with various grade classes from Bishop Elementary.

They talked about their career path, what a typical day at the clinic looks like & even some cool animals they get to work on.

The kids enjoyed it very much and had some awesome questions for them, they ofcourse loved loving on Gus! 🐶

Once again we are very grateful for these opportunities, & hope to see some familiar faces in the future as veterinarians and technicians! 🐾🩺

Mrs. Barrett’s Vet Med Senior class (bishop high school) brought us some goodies this evening. The tech and doctors helped sign off on their observations hours & helped them understand competencies they needed in order to get their certificate to become Certified Veterinary Assistants! We enjoy watching these students grow and learn! It’s also always a good thing to have some extra hands to help around the clinic! 🩺🐾📕

Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

Soft, consistent stool, as well as allergies, are common causes of irritation. If your pet is scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort around their rear end, contact us! We will help to identify the cause and determine the best course of treatment.
