Let’s talk about nervous pups! Maggie is the prime example, she always shakes and acts super nervous to come with me to get groomed. Once we are inside she definitely owns the place and is completely comfortable! Sometimes our pets can get nervous being dropped off at the vet, groomers, daycare, kennel etc. They will shake, whine or even refuse to go with another person. I never take it personally and I’m thankful that I have clients that trust me and know that I would never harm their pet. I always tell my clients once they are inside 9/10 times they calm down and are actually happy to see me. I always say it’s like taking your child to school/ daycare. They are always reluctant to leave mom or dad but once they leave the child is fine! Reasons pets may be nervous to go other places without us can boil down to so many things but the most common are: ENERGY! Animals are energy readers. If we are nervous, mad, sad or just having an off day our pets can pick up on that and it effects them too! Maybe our pet woke up and they just are feeling well. Their joints may be hurting, tummy could be sick etc Homebodies. If you never take your pet outside of our homes then how will they know they world isn’t so scary? It’s our job to properly socialize our pets! The best way to do this is training classes! Obedience training etc. And the very REAL reason… dogs/ cats just DONT enjoy getting groomed or going to the vet. Many will tolerate it and some even seem to like it but if they could talk I don’t think getting a bath would be at the top of their list 🤣 Again, thank you to all my clients who trust me with their babies ♥️ 🐱 🐶

You know what I LOVE?? Clients who bring their puppies to get groomed at an early age Getting your puppy used to regular grooming is absolutely one of the best things you can do! This makes for a confident pup that is not fearful of the grooming process. This is only Lilys second time getting her nails dremmeled and as you can see she handled it like a champ! Great job Lily!
