Ruby had a nice weekend at the English Setter Club of America field trial.

Started off Thursday making call backs in OLGD out of 13 nice dogs. She broke on shot, but made a clean retrieve. Happy to see her in the conversation.
Ran Ruby in the Open All Age in the afternoon with the help of Mike Mullineaux scouting. She did a good job of showing herself even through a few mistakes made my me. She placed first of of 10 dogs. Thank you to judges John Frank & Dan Jolly for noticing and placing ruby and their time in the saddle. As well as all the judges over the weekends events.
Came back Saturday for the club event with the family and to run the dogs again in ALGD. Ruby managed to place 3rd in an 18 dog stake. Thank you to Lance Fargo for scouting Ruby and to judges Frank Joseph Luksa Jr. & Marcus Ramseur for their time in the saddle watching our dogs.

It was a great event this weekend at the English Setter Club of America I had a great time with friends and dogs. Thank you always to those who put the event together, volunteer to keep the grounds maintained, and all the other people who have a hand in a well run event. I very much enjoyed bringing my son to the trial and look forward to making more memories with him playing this game. He got to stack his first dog!

Three Zs Xena the Warrior Pointer

I really couldn’t be happier for Xena. Her and Mike Mullineaux are on a roll! That win puts her at 10 open points. We’ll have to get her into some retrieving stakes coming up soon 🙌🏼

This win holds a lot of weight to me. For me the standard of dog I’ve been around is Blaze & Rusty. Two dogs I’ve seen on many occasion, be it scouting, training, or even handling. These two dogs are what I hoped I could turn my trial dogs into. Multiple time champions that have taught me a lot. To be placed & stacked with those two dogs honestly is a honor for Xena and I. We’ve come a long way in a couple of years.

Thank you always to Mike and Julie for training, caring for and running Xena. Thank you to Joe Petrowski & Sharon Townley for noticing and placing Xena in the stake. Congrats to Lance Fargo & Nancy Huyser on your placements as well!

Tareheel Brittany Field Trial ; Boydton, Virginia

Three Zs Xena the Warrior Pointer- 1st OGD (33 Starters)

Took a trip down to Southern Virginia to run the dogs at the Tarheel Britt trial last week to kick off the field trial season! After running the dogs in All Age, I headed back north and left Xena with Mike Mullineaux so she could have a few more opportunities to succeed this year.

Mike ran Xena in a 33 dog open gun dog stake on Saturday after we left. I was elated to hear the news of her placement! Her first broke placement being a 5pt major is pretty damn cool. So many hours and helping hands have helped me train and learn with this dog. She earned a nice win. Thank you Mike & Julie always for your support and help with my dogs !

Mike took 1st, 2nd & 3rd in that open gundog all with dogs bred by Mickey Monica. 2nd place - Stone owned by Lance Fargo is a repeat litter ruby is out of. 3rd went to Go**ds (😂) Rubys littermate owned by Julie. Big congrats to the team!! Let’s keep it rollin!

Some shots from day 1 of the Amateur Shooting Dog Championship at the NGSPA Pheasant Championship

The grounds really are amazing and we had some great weather over the weekend. Having Ruby entered was an exposure and experience event for the both of us. I would have liked to see us on the ground longer but I can say I’m proud of a few things she did. We’re guna keep workin and for sure be back to this great event in the future!

Thank you to Mike Mullineaux for lending me a horse and being a great support always. Thank you to everyone at the event for just being super encouraging, offering advice and fun to be around.

Thank you to the Weim club for hosting the event and the judges for their time in the saddle !

Ruby took 4th in OGD while her littermate won the stake, a pup from a repeat breeding took 2nd and another pup with the same sire took 3rd. It’s been a really fun bunch of pups to work with the last 2 years!

Xena had a wildly entertaining brace. Divided find, stop to flush on a covey & a back. Proud she’s finally being consistent and clean this season so far
