We are Kristen and Brandon. We started out rescuing Chihuahuas and eventually expanded to all small breed dogs. Sometimes you will see other sizes of dogs or a couple cats, because we help other rescues out when we can. We run the rescue out of our home, and do most of our adoptions at Pet Supermarket in Dothan, AL on Highway 84 West next to Flowers Hospital. They host us on Saturdays for adoption events as well when we’re not working.
We rescue dogs from kill shelters, other rescues, owner surrenders and strays. We get them up to date on their vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered and put them on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworms.
We foster all the dogs ourselves so we can make sure they are properly cared for and healthy. It also enables us to tell you about their personalities and likes/dislikes etc., but this also limits us on how many we can rescue at one time. Any rescue that overwhelms themselves is not being fair to the dogs and their well-being and that rescuer will surely either burn out or neglect the dogs’ needs. We treat our rescues just as if they are our own family dogs.
Please let us know if you’d like to add one to your family!
