MUD BAY at Shoreline is RWR Store for Tons of Love holiday-giving event is here! Look at our lovely lady Luna! This sweet kitty is awaiting her forever home. Anyone want to bring this black beauty home to start 2025?

Luna is one of those cats who needs a little time to warm up to new people and places, but once she does, she's all yours. 😍 She has quite the playful, sweet personality once she's comfortable. She will make someone a wonderful companion!

The ended yesterday but we need your support all year round!

One thing you may not know is that because we are a small rescue, we don't have large facilities to house dogs when fosters aren't available. We have kennels in Eastern Washington that can house a handful of dogs, but the conditions there aren't ideal, especially in the winter.

So, when we can't find fosters, we sometimes have to board dogs. Each of the dogs pictured here have spent differing amounts of time in boarding, and the costs add up. We wish our dogs could be nestled in warm homes all the time, but this in an unfortunate side effect of these challenging times. Helping us set aside funds for these costs would free up money for other important needs, like emergency vet care.

If you're not able to donate, but might consider fostering, please visit www.redwagginrescue.org to learn more.

On this day, we wanted to tell you the most harrowing-to-heartwarming story this year.

Two doodle-type dogs were found in the county with porcupine quills lodged in their snouts. Red Waggin' volunteers got them to the vet quickly so they could receive emergency care and thankfully, they both were on the road to recovery soon. We named them Phoenix and Phantom and brought them to our kennels.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. We had a litter of puppies that came in and they all started exhibiting signs of Parvo. Phantom thankfully stayed healthy, but Phoenix became quite sick. This meant more vet visits, more medicine, and lots of subcutaneous fluids, but Phoenix soon was healthy and ready for a foster home.

Both of the boys are having a happy ending. Phantom, now Skyler, is living his best life with his adopters. Phoenix is as happy as can be in his foster home and we're hoping there will be an adoption on the horizon for him.

This story, with all its twists and turns, isn't unusual for the rescue and the animals we meet. We often find sick or injured animals and need to nurse them back to health before they can be placed in a foster or adoptive home. These costs can be staggering and we rely on donations to stay engaged in the work. Please join our efforts and donate today!

We are normally all about the animals, but for today's , we wanted to put the spotlight on some special people who made Red Waggin' what it is today.

The lady pictured is Cindy, who was the spark for our founder, Carrie's, first venture into rescue 14 years ago. Cindy worked at the local hardware store and asked for Carrie's help rescuing a dog, Miss Blue (pictured), who was about to be euthanized. Carrie and Cindy worked together quickly and, after many phone calls and emails, were able to get Miss Blue to a safe and loving home.

Officer Kepple of the Connell PD was also key in getting the rescue going. He cared about deeply about all the dogs in the community and would call Carrier when one came in without an owner or when he found dogs that were sick or injured. He also gave his free time to the rescue, feeding motherless puppies and cleaning kennels. He has now retired, but other Connell PD officers continue to play an important role in taking care of the misfortunate animals of the area.

Also pictured is the Connell team of volunteers that take care of the animals east of the mountains. They, along with a network of volunteers in Western Washington, help make sure the animals brought in are cared for on their journey to their forever homes.

Unfortunately, Cindy passed away this year after a brief illness. Her last request to Carrie was about the rescue of a senior dogs; she cared for animals right to the end. Her legacy is the work we do every day and so we ask for your support today to keep that work going.

You can continue Cindy's rescue and donate to Red Waggin' today at this link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=CN7LZX9W3NTBS

GivingTuesday is less than 24 hours away! We are asking for your support via donations so that we can keep doing the work we do. This is absolutely critical in this time of great need while we are finding fewer fosters and having adoptions happening less quickly than in the past.

Okie and Smokie are a great example of some of the work we do. These two special boys have a neurological disorder that impacts their movement, but have been lucky to find a foster dad who loves them and takes great care of them! He's hoping to adopt them, but the care these two need now and in the future can be costly. So, we're seeking sponsors to help create a "rainy day" fund for this sweet little family.

If you want to donate tomorrow (or now is fine too!), visit our donation site: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=CN7LZX9W3NTBS

We haven't featured Brighton in a while, so please SHARE so he can get some attention. This handsome boy with the GIANT ears is waiting for his a foster or forever home.

Brighton is currently living in our Eastern Washington kennels and gets little time out and about. He recently got a walk and game of fetch and, as you can see, he loved it! Do you need a fun and funny play partner in your life? If so, Brighton is your guy!

🖤 It's Black (Pet) Friday! 🖤

Did you know that black cats and dogs are less likely to get adopted because of old superstitions and the fact that they are harder to photograph well? (Yes, it's true.)

Of course, we all know that black pets are as excellent (and maybe more) than their more colorful counterparts. If you or someone you know are looking for the pet of your dreams, why not give Luna, Rudy Roo, Kingston, Lucas, and Miley a look? You can learn more about them at https://www.redwagginrescue.org/adoptable-animals

One more post and then we eat!

We are thankful that Pepper Jack was adopted recently by the couple that fostered him. We love seeing a dog or cat end up in a happy home! 😍

And it's not just Pepper Jack! Braxton, Amelia, Tate, Wicket, and so many have found their forever home recently in the last few months. Which lucky animal will be next?

Thank you for following our page, donating to our rescue ( is coming up!), fostering animals, and otherwise supporting us. We couldn't do it without you!

What else are we thankful for? Kylo found a temporary foster home with other dogs to play with! Just look at that happy face! 😍

We are thankful for all of our fosters, as without them, we would never be able to do the critical work we do. Whether they're providing short- or long-term care, it's invaluable. If you have questions about fostering, please visit our website at www.redwagginrescue.org or email us at [email protected].

We're still accepting long-term foster and adoption applications for Kylo, so check him out if you want to add THE BEST dog to your life.

What are we thankful for? MudBay Shoreline and the folks who donate to us there. The donations we receive allow us to keep our animals fed and happy (and occasionally, well-dressed). 🥰

MudBay Shoreline is also featuring us on their GivingTree and folks there can buy specific items to support our rescue. If you're local, stop by and check it out!

Our Story

Red Waggin' Rescue is a 501(c)3 pet Non-Profit organization EIN# 45-5455943. We are based in Connell, WA but have foster homes across Washington State where our adoptable pets stay until they find forever homes.

To contact us, please email [email protected]. To view our pets available for adoption, our adoption policies, or to apply for a pet online, visit: RedWagginRescue.petfinder.com We are run by part-time unpaid volunteers and our pets stay in foster homes, so we do not have an open facitlity for public viewing. Donations: Our adoption fees cover the basic vet care (including spays/neuters and microchipping) for our dogs and cats. However, we are always in need of a little extra for extra vet care. Many of the animals we rescue are in need of extra care besides the basics and in the end the adoption fees don't always cover the full cost of the animal. (Eg: Fractures, dental cleanings/extractions, and illnesses) Any amount you can spare, even $2, helps care for these animals and to find them new homes.

You can donate directly to the rescue by using the friends and family option on Paypal.com to [email protected].
