We have just a few quality females and one male on our family farm in Northeast Missouri. All of our dogs get to live the fun-loving, adventurous and active life that every Aussie deserves! They are a part of our family in t

hat they live with us and work with us every day. We take great pride in our puppies - they receive the best health care, diet and socialization that a puppy can be given! They are handled daily and are introduced to a home lifestyle so they are best prepared to enter their forever homes! If you are considering adding a furry companion to your family, be sure to do your research on the breed and the breeder. If there is anything we can do to make the process easier for you and your family, please feel free to message us with your questions! We are passionate about Australian Shepherds and do everything we can to promote the breed! Today, we mourn the loss of our beloved Cinch. He filled our hearts with 14.5 years of wonderful memories. He was a friend, a trail boss, a babysitter and sired a handful of best friends. Cinch lived an active, healthy life all the way up to the end - for that we are grateful, but is it ever long enough?

Meet Reva! She may look like a black tri, but Reva is a minimal blue Merle. You can see her only merle marking running across her shoulder. She is spunky and sweet and everything neat! (She also has a tail - her and Princess Leia we’re a mere 6oz at 3 days of age so they both kept their tails which now the other puppies think are great toys.)

The Dale x Renegade litter has arrived! 4 girls, 2 males Names to be decided. One little girl is not doing as well as the others and could use some positive vibes and prayers. We will contact those on our waiting list in a couple weeks once I’m confident that everyone is doing well and thriving. 💕

I suppose I need to officially announce that we are no longer expecting a Bird x Nugget litter. Bird is doing just fine and we will try again, but sometimes things just happen and we don’t have an explanation. 💔😩 We are, however, preparing for the arrival of the Dale x Renegade babies due this week! So excited to meet these little meatballs! 😍😍😍

In other news, Renegade has added a few more letters to his name. He finished his ASCA Rally Novice & Rally Novice Excellent titles this past weekend, as well as passed his Trick Dog Intermediate test. He’s such a love. 💙🖤

Another exciting and bittersweet announcement 🥰🥰 Dale Evans is confirmed pregnant with her last litter. She is bred to the best boy, Renegade. These should be some big babies not lacking in substance and coat with superior temperaments. We will be busy come August and I will be enjoying every moment of it! 🐾❤️🐾 Waiting list has started!

Renegade and I had a phenomenal trip to the UKC Premier Nationals in Kalamazoo, MI! I could go on and on if how I am if this boy, but I’ll try and keep it simple by highlighting his greatest moments. Thursday was the 2022 Top 10 Event. He finished 2022 as the #1 Australian Shepherd in UKC and on Thursday he defended his title by winning Best of Breed under Judge David Kittredge. Friday he won Reserve Grand Champion under Judge Matthew Proctor as well as clutched his performance qualifier for Total Dog by giving me an outstanding Rally 3 run. Saturday was Renegade’s day! He won Best of Breed over 18 phenomenal Aussies under Judge Pat O’Donnell. This win also meant he was officially qualified to compete for Total Dog! He went on to win a regular Group 3 under Pat O’Donnel and then an impressive Total Dog Herding Group 3 under esteemed Judge Donna Beadle. There were 44 well-deserving dogs competing for placements in the Total Dog Herding Group - we were totally shocked and honored to leave Group with a ribbon. Renegade is such a wonderful dog with the best personality on top of being so handsome. He won so many over at the show with his friendliness and silliness. 💙🖤💙🖤 We will hopefully be having a few Renegade babies in the near future! 😍🙏💝

We are headed to the UKC Premier tomorrow! Renegade will be shown in the Top 10 Event representing the #1 Australian Shepherd of 2022. Jozee and Toni finished in the Top 10 in their division for Junior Showmanship in 2022 and will get to compete against some amazing Junior Handlers! We are so proud of these dogs and of Jozee for all her hard work! We can’t wait to update you!

Junior Spotlight! Jozee Garcia and her dog Toni (Loretta x Cinch) traveled to the 2023 USASA with me to compete in Rally, Obedience and Junior Showmanship. This was her first AKC event! A couple highlights would be a 2nd place in a huge Rally Novice class with a perfect score (there were nine 100s in the class!) and winning her Novice Senior class in Junior Showmanship class. Most importantly, she had fun, Toni had fun and all of Jozee’s hard work, training and grooming continues to pay off! Very proud of her! We’ve already set goals for next years USASA! 👏👏👏

Our Story

We like to keep things simple and fun here at Ironwood Ridge Aussies! Our goal is to provide high quality, healthy Australian Shepherds. We have just a handful of females and two males in our program. All of our dogs get to live the fun-loving, adventurous and active life that every Aussie deserves. They also have a couch to crash on at the end of the day. Ownership of all of the dogs in our program is divided between three families; Janine & Jami Sevits, Kaity & Jake Sevits, and Meredith & Joel Sevits. Our farms are all connected at the fenceline and we’re proud of the life we can give our Aussies (and our human children for that matter!). Janine and Jami began raising working Aussies more than 25 years ago. We now focus on a well-rounded Aussie that can fit a variety of active environments, from companionship, to working farm dog, to agility, to obedience and much more. The loyalty of the Australian Shepherd is unmatched and we can’t imagine our lives without these amazing dogs. We take great pride in our puppies and besides a health puppy, a well-socialized puppy is what we look forward to sharing with our potential owners. Socialization begins at birth and is an ongoing process everyday until they leave us. We use Puppy Culture on all of our litters. Our puppies are actively handled everyday, they are introduced to age appropriate stimuli and stressors, they are litter trained, begin crate training, begin clicker training and much, much more. Many people don’t realize what kind of lasting impact, positive and negative, can be made on a puppy by 14 weeks of age. This is precisely why it’s important to know how your puppy is handled and engaged by your breeder. If you are considering adding a furry companion to your family, be sure to do your research on the breed and the breeder.
