Good morning!
Dog teams and single walkers, we will be meeting by 8:00 AM for a walk on the FLAT Lake Trail on Osteopathy (behind the hospital).
We would like to be walking by 8:05. There will be groups from CrossFit on the trail. Please be mindful of runners and keep to the right when they approach from behind.
Bring everything your dog might need on the trail. It is a paved and level Forest Lake Area Trail System.

Finally!!!
She was 2 weeks overdue for her groom.
I took to many photos. She had had enough.
Daisy was with us and that doesn't set well with Miss " I'm the only one."
She is spoiled.

Dog teams & single walkers, we will meet Sunday, 8 AM, FLAT Lake Trail in Kirksville. Loaner dogs available or walk with us.
There are rules to the walking club.
Dogs must be on leash and under control at all times.
Pick up after your dog and bring everything necessary for the trail.
It is not mandatory to sign up for the K9 Challenge.
Just have fun and get outside with us.

Cat nails are biologically designed to be sharp, that’s why their nails grow in keratin layers and they’re retractable. :)

Dremel is not the appropriate method of shortening for the anatomy of this type of nail. A dremel is beneficial for nails that grow from under the cuticle bed, like dogs, rabbits, humans.

The amount of time and stress needed for dremelling does not outweigh the limited or temporary benefit of rounded nails. As a professional cat groomer, I would rather use that time and capacity for their tolerance towards the dryer.

Remember this post?
I had a lot of phone calls asking for Mobile Nail Trims and not being a current client in the salon.
I would prefer to service my clients, but there seems to be a bigger NEED for mobile nail trims in the area.
Contact me directly and we will discuss day and map location.
There are requirements that must be met. before I venture out for home visits.
A pre-appointment deposit fee is also mandatory. Fees will be discussed to include mileage.
This service will be for businesses with cat employees (i.e. nursing homes, feed stores); house-bound cat owners and multi-cat homes.

Continuing education is so important however, you need to learn and implement a few of the good ideas.
Just an idea to put out there and get feedback...
Mobile nail trim, eyes, ears and comb out in between full coat grooming appointments.
This would be great for clients who find it difficult to support home maintenance for their cats.
An in-between service for local clients only.
Must be on a solid schedule. Another suggestion is this is a pre-paid mobile service.
NO bath service.
There will be a list of prerequisites before service, i.e.,
* Containment of cat prior to arrival.
* Calm environment.
* Work area such as a tabletop or countertop.
* Good lighting.

Please give some ideas, suggestions, feedback, etc.

My clients are the best!
I can give you a list of reasons.
I find so much joy in photos sent by my clients.
"At-home-relaxing-photos" are fun and one of my favorite things.
This handsome boy is "Onyx". You may have seen him, hint ,hint, at the top of my page.
He is patient and has a thick coat, enough for 2 cats. He doesn't mind creative shaves and is so sweet. And, yes, he has one blue and one gold eye.

Can you tell the difference between the photos??
The top one is BEFORE ad the bottom one is AFTER!!
Subtle differences.
Zoe Cooper has good home maintenance and is on schedule. Her coat wasn't heavily packed. She is a bigger kitty and has trouble keeping herself clean.
The lines in her fur around the neck and on her sides, shows the separation / clumping from kitty cat oils on the fur.
Zoe is squeaky clean and thank you to Stephanie for keeping her calm and keeping me company.

Any Mud Girl Warriors out there?
July 19, 2025, in Midwest Illinois is the Mud Girl Obstacle race.
Plenty of Mud and 17 obstacles.
Sign up today for $30 at Mud Girl.
This location will go as high as $100 when the race get close next year.
If anyone would like to get a team together, let's do it!
There is an additional $15 for insurance that is mandatory to race.
I have not personally been on THIS course, however I am looking forward to it. It is 3 hours closer than Minneapolis MN.

When it's August 17, Caturday, and Black Cat Appreciation Day.....
Here is "Coffee" Forquer, not at his best, but putting up with me at the very end of a good groom.
He was tired of getting rolled around while being hand dried.
He had a rude awakening that morning. He was awakened and then plopped in his carrier for a car ride to the salon. He is always chatty in the bath and told me all about his morning.
Coffee has an amazing coat and good home maintenance.
So, "Coffee" here's to Black Cat Appreciation!!

2.5 miles of beautiful weather and great conversation.
FLAT Lake trail was nice.

Let's WELCOME" Snowy" & "Luna" to PurrMore Cat Grooming LLC.
I always look forward to meeting new cats.
These two are here from San Bernardino, California.
Snowy was an absolute jewel. He knew exactly what to do and how to relax in the tub. His Mom has great at home grooming maintenance skills.
Luna was a champ in the bath. She finally laid down and enjoyed the warm bath/ spa day. She was a little chatty, and let her brother "Snowy" know she was okay.
