3 weeks old✨
The puppies are out of the neonatal stage and reaching new developmental milestones! Their eyes and ears are open and their baby teeth are juuuust starting to push through. They are starting to stumble around on their wobbly legs instead of crawling on their bellies. This week we are starting to introduce new toys and objects to them, but we’re taking it slowly so we don’t overwhelm them. With puppies slow IS fast.💛

Miss Lucy Goose will be going to her new home next week! She has been extra special as she was a single puppy from Stella and Toby, and she’s brought so much joy into our home! No doubt she will be taking her happy, cheerful personality along with her to her new home. ✨

We are thrilled to share that our sweet girl Rosie had her first litter of puppies! She is do amazing and is such a good mom 💕

These cuties are still a week or two from really walking, but they’ll soon have their eyes open, and every day they gain more of an ability to regulate their body temperature. 🐾

What a week! Maggie and Sasha both had their puppies! 🐾Unfortunately we said goodbye to 2 puppies way too early, but we are cherishing Maggie’s 7 and Sasha’s 6. 💕

Our sweet Riley girl is officially retired and went to her new home this weekend 💜
It was so hard to say goodbye to our girl who has been our sidekick (especially Luke’s) for so long. I expected the sadness but I was surprised how fulfilled I felt after she went home! You know how people talk about their fire passion? Well for me that is raising wonderful family puppies/dogs and finding the perfect homes for them. God has put this passion so strongly in my heart and I truly feel that it is part of my calling.
Riley will be spending her golden years in a wonderful home with a loving family, and her granddaughter! 💕

Here is something most people don’t talk about, but if you own a dog there will most likely be a time he gets sick or needs to be taken to the vet to try to figure out what’s wrong. 🐾

Earlier this week sweet Stella gave us a scare! Her eyes began to look pretty red and she was tearing up. When I saw this my first biggest fear was puppy strangles. Puppy strangles is a very random disease a puppy can get, there is no known way to prevent it but it is easily curable. The problem is it can be hereditary so if Stella got it she couldn’t join our breeding program. I took her over to our vet on Monday and he checked her out and said she doesn’t have strangles but most likely conjunctivitis, which is basically when bacteria, viruses, or matter gets into their eyes and bothers them. We had already put her on an antibiotic that seemed to be helping so we could keep her on that and she is now totally back to normal. ❤️

We are so thankful for our vet and highly encourage everyone to begin building their relationship with their vet before they bring a puppy home. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them! 🙌

Luke told me the other day that he thinks my love language is kind google reviews 😂

But the thing is I think he might be right! I can’t say how fulfilling it is when I read a genuinely kind Google or Facebook review, it really does make my day.

I’ve also come to realize I’m probably going to cry (and eat waaayyy too much ice cream) the first time someone leaves a nasty review. 😬 But with the industry we are in, and how people have VERY strong feelings about breeders, I know it will probably happen sometime. We have already been on the receiving end of some pretty nasty voicemails so I feel like I’ve been semi-prepared 😅

But at the end of the day both Luke and I feel so strongly that there is such a need for honest and ethical breeders and we really believe in what we do. 💙 Thank you so much for being on this journey with us and supporting us, we wouldn’t be doing this without you all! 💕

I was emailing someone the other week and they mentioned this quote. IT'S SO TRUE!

Around here we say a lot "A tired dog is a happy dog" but the reality is that it also makes for a happy owner. A dog, especially a lab, needs and thrives on exercise. It can be as simple as fetch in the yard or a walk around the block. With this gorgeous spring weather let's remember to let our dogs out to enjoy it too! ☀️

I can’t overemphasize the importance of having low expectations with a high level of commitment. It’s so easy to bring a puppy home and secretly wish our puppy will be potty trained from day one, snuggle whenever we want, etc., but if we can keep our expectations low while remaining committed to doing the work to train and care for them, we just might be pleasantly surprised at their progress!✨

✨EASY FROZEN DOG TREATS✨ I love having these dog treats on hand, and this one is very simple with just pumpkin purée and banana! If you need it even more simple you can fill a penguin with dog/puppy food, fill it up with water or broth, and let it soak for 15 minutes. Stick it in the freezer for a few hours, pull it out and you have an easy meal for them that will help cool them off in this heat!☀️

New life✨ We are cherishing these days with our little guy and these precious puppies.🥹 Our girl Channing had our very first litter of Golden Retriever puppies and also our largest litter with 14 puppies! She is an AMAZING mom and taking wonderful care of them.
