This is Miss Pecan’s sweet little singleton puppy.❤️
We have only had a single puppy 1 other time, so it’s pretty rare, but we are so thankful we have other puppies right now so she is growing up with some adopted siblings.🥰❤️

He has been patiently waiting for them to grow and we are just starting to enter the age where they can start interacting with him.💙🐾

A few pictures from the puppy pen.🐾
Hallie is such a wonderful mama and these puppies are really chunking up and thriving.✨

The first 2 weeks they are in the neonatal stage, which means their body is working on several things - regulating body temperature, putting on weight, and getting ready for their eyes and ears to unseal. This all happens during activated sleep, which means their bodies are twitching and moving while they sleep to strengthen their muscles and prepare for future mobility.❤️🐾

A little life update - Sometimes with puppies it feels like there is so much behind-the-scenes work and then when puppies arrive I have so much to share, but right now we are putting in lots of work preparing for these wonderful spring puppies.🐾
We are SO excited for our spring puppies, but it’s going to be lots of work with multiple litters so here are a few things we’ve been up to lately:

- Preparing puppy pens- Hallie is all snuggled into her puppy pen, and getting ready to welcome her puppies hopefully next week!

- Making sure all of our girls are physically ready for their puppies which means lots of grooming and especially trimming their hair around the milk bar so puppies have easy access. We also make sure they are up to date on dewormers (there is a specific kind that’s safe for pregnancy) so they can pass that protection to their babies.♥️

- Continued careful exercise - They still love to be outside and get exercise, but we are careful that they do it in a safe way with puppies in their bellies.🐾

Miss Olive graduated from her first puppy training class!🎉🐾
We don’t require that our puppies have professional training, BUT if there is an aspect of training where you are struggling to find success a trainer can be a tremendous help.
The time and effort you put into your puppy will pay off for years to come.✨❤️

An update on sweet Maxie: “So glad we found you all, and so glad she is part of our family!! She gets two 30 minute walks almost everyday, plays and trains. She has never cried or whined. Barks at a sit to go out, so we know when to take her! She is in an obedience class and doing well with training! Thank you again for such a beautiful dog!!”❤️🐾

Here are some of my favorite things about Labs✨

1- Labs love to be with us!🥰 I want my pup to want to hang out with me, whether that’s going on a walk, playing in the yard, or just hanging out with our family.

2- Speaking of family, it’s extremely important that I can trust my dogs around my children, and while their environment plays a big part, and we focus on raising them in a way that supports family life, genetics is HUGE, so we only raise puppies that come from parents that display the temperament suitable to family life.❤️

3- Labs love food! While this does have a downside (and I’ll make a post about that), I would always prefer a dog with a strong food drive because it is a huge aid in training!

4- They truly do have hearts of gold.💛 Every dog has their own strengths and weaknesses (just like people!), one of their biggest strengths is their desire to please.🥰
