Touched my coat or breathed my air.

How can they make judgement...

When they have nothing to compare.

They have never seen me gently...

Pull someone from the edge.

Theyve never seen my silence...

Calm the voices in their head.

Theyve never felt their own heart rate..

Be regulated by mine.

Im not asking much from you...

Just a little of your time.

Come spend it in my presence...

Close your eyes, feel at peace.

Be completely in the moment...

For it will put your mind at ease.

I am not a magic healer....

I leave that to the best.

I am just a humble horse...

It was a cold evening but one of our volunteers came to the barn with a new volunteer. It was a great time showing her the ropes and feeding the horses and cats. 🥶🐴🐈‍⬛❄️❤️

Update: Due to inclement weather and frigid temperatures, we are canceling the Day of Service but we hope to schedule a cleanup day at the farm soon. Thank you!

Please join us on Monday morning (January 20th) for a Day of Service at the farm. Cleaning and projects will help us prepare for the new year, care for the horses and cats and classes/lessons for our Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities. We will be working from 9 a.m. until Noon. Snacks and beverages will be provided. All ages welcome.

Some pictures from the last few days. Our Winter Intern/Volunteer took some pictures yesterday (her last day before returning to school). I always love the notes Lena leaves me on her last day. Lena worked on so much around the barn and working with four of our volunteers. Thank you! She was also there this week as we said goodbye to Nevada.

Dusty and I are learning to navigate without his brother. He has required a bit more attention and some new adventures for Dusty with adding Gizzy to the field I put Dusty in. These two are not the bestest buddies but they are doing better together everyday. I spent some time with Dusty while he ate his dinner. And as you can see from the pictures Gizzy isn’t jealous at all 🤣 checking to see what we are doing with Dusty. Also a picture Sara took of Noah giving Dusty kisses.

Sara and I spoke at last night’s Veteran Night at Morr Indoor Range and Training Center. We had a great evening and look forward to it every year. They have Veterans Night once a month - normally the first Thursday of the month. Thank you for always being supportive of our mission!
