So proud of Lauren Morgan in her lesson yesterday! She has a beautiful sitting canter and the Pratt Institute Equestrian Team will be luck only to have her.
Lion's Share Jump School
Took Lion's Share for a jump school today at Carol Wasylyk's farm and he was magnificent! Second time I've ever had him in a ring, and he didn't miss a beat or look at a single thing. Love this horse! Thanks again, Carol, and also Hayden Cadwalader for filming! This is the perfect time to work with a young horse on the basics. Fingers crossed the Retired Racehorse Project will still run this fall!
So proud of Miss Taylor Morgan! Over her winter break from college, she blocked out her schedule to go hunting! She only missed a few hunts and has excelled in the field. We’ve had some pretty stellar hunts and Taylor is always there at the bitter end (literally...even when it’s 10 degrees out 🤣). Today’s lesson ended with some coop jumping as well as many down hill logs. Below is her first coop ever. You go, girl! So proud!
Jump schooling in session! Connie rocked it over her first ever coop! She has come quite a long way in a year and half of riding. So proud!
FOR SALE: Spud is a gorgeous and very sweet 9 year old TB gelding who is looking for his next career as a show horse. He is extremely willing in the ring and absolutely loves to jump! He is regrettably being sold because his owner only foxhunts and Spud prefers the ring over cross country. He has no vices and is sound. He is a very quick study and would make an incredible show hunter or jumper for someone eager for a project horse. You will not find a sweeter horse to work with on the ground or in the ring!
Fabulous jump school today with Tim and Andrea Hoover’s “Spud”. He is a rockstar in the ring and will make someone a fabulous show horse one day! He’s only been in a ring a handful of times, and has taken it all with ease. Good boy, Spud!! Thanks too to Carol Wasylyk for the use of your amazing ring!
Successful day here at Tick Hill Equestrian! So excited for Carol Wasylyk who is competing in the Thoroughbred Makeover/ RRP with her amazing OTTB mare. They’re a perfect match!
Chocolate Mousse is gearing up for cubbing season! Our first practice coop so we're sure to be ready for whatever faces us in the hunting field.
Cubbing is just around the corner; time to start gearing your horses up!
I'm happy to announce the newest addition to the family, Dream! Originally from an Amish farm, he competed in the Great American Trail Horse competition and we bought him sight unseen after he placed 3rd overall. We knew he was young, but didn't know he had only just turned 3! This summer will be tons of fun bringing him along and showing him the ropes of what being a foxhunter is all about. Such a big love bug in the barn, and has lots of potential which I'm so excited about. The video is of him getting used to some hunting fences....and he has only jumped a handful of times before this!
