EDIT:
Sadly, I was in fact one of the 28,000 cast members laid off.. my goal right now is to kick off this business so I can someday make it on my own ❤️ thank you everyone for the support!!
Hey everyone! This is will be kind of a long post but I hope you take the time to hear me out!
My name is Erin. In March this year I was furloughed from my job at Disney. Thankfully for quite a few months we had my husbands unemployment then he went back to work- however.. I'm still furloughed and as of right now, it looks like I actually am part of a massive layoff happening in the company due to me being part time.. Although our standard bills are ok, my medical bills have grown and grown since my near death experience with my appendix back in April.
This really has kicked my butt into gear with finding other options for work. With two kids and a husband that works full time and does online schooling - it makes my availability small for job searching. That on top of the fact there are now THOUSANDS of other part timers from Disney like myself looking for work.. its near impossible to find a normal job in my area.
But who needs normal anyways??
So I decided to finally put my head together and use what I have to make something in a category I'm passionate about- PETS. Currently I'm focusing on "over-the-collar" style personalized bandanas but eventually I'll be offering custom collars and leashes as well! They can be personalized through embroidery right now but I'm looking at changing over to vinyl as soon as possible(I feel the vinyl looks way better with the smaller projects.)
It's going to be a slow start and any assistance I can get would be greatly appreciated. From a share, to a like, to a donation- literally anything helps when starting from the ground up. In fact, if you buy a bandana and take a good picture of your pet wearing it- you'll receive a 10% off coupon 🐕 My goal is to eventually get to the point where I can make products and donate them to rescues and shelters for adoption events or photos- which is why I named this business "Ruff Edges". Because shelter dogs might have their small impefections- but they're just as good a dog as any other
