This handsome pup comes in a pint-sized package, weighing in at only 33 pounds! Meet Nova! 🪐

Nova is about 4 years old and is more than ready to finally find his forever home. What breed is he? We have no idea! Our staff has made their best guesses, and we all believe that he may be a husky/shepherd mixed with a dachshund/corgi, with a few other breeds thrown in the mix. All we know is that his DNA test would sure be interesting!

Nova is incredible with other dogs, and absolutely loves joining our client’s pups in daycare every weekday. When he’s not in daycare, he’s hanging out with his two besties, Crosby and Cupcake. He is very active and playful and is always up for an adventure! Nova would thrive in a home with a pack of canine companions, and maybe some cats too! Nova prefers older children, 12 years and up.

One of our favorite parts of the job is getting to say “goodbye” to our incredible pups ❤️

We wanted to take a moment to wish a big congratulations to a couple of our adopted pups from the month of January!

Garland (left) and Robbie Rottie (right) have found their forever homes and continue to see us as boarding and veterinary clients. We are so proud of them and wish them all the best in their new adventures! 🐾

There's no pup who can rock any outfit quite like our adoptable friend Crosby! 😎

Crosby has become an avid fashionista due to some ongoing medical concerns that cause his skin to have some itchy flare-ups. Despite this, Crosby remains positive and oh-so handsome!

Crosby is about two and a half years old, but we believe he has an old soul. He enjoys the simple things in life, like lounging in the sun and enjoying delicious food. He is a homebody who enjoys the company of other animals, although he prefers to coexist rather than play.

Snow, snow, and more snow! ❄️

Adoptable Avril is popping in the say that she hopes you stay safe, stay warm, and have fun in this upcoming winter weather!

Avril enjoys making snow angels and frosting her whiskers, then warming up in her bed and dreaming of her forever home.

Avril is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs in at about 70 pounds. She gives excellent hugs and promises to keep you warm during frosty nights.

Tank, here! I'm popping in to say that I hope you had some safe and fun snow days, like me and my friends here at Kittery Animal Hospital! ❄️

Tank is a two year old mixed breed pup looking for some new digs! He is currently working on his socialization with other dogs, and may be compatible with an older established dog that will help show him the ropes. Introductions are required. He has lived with cats, and would occasionally chase them. Children should be 14 years or older and respectful of his personal space.

Our friend Pepper is missing the sunshine and warmer weather right about now.. How about you? ☀️

Pepper is turning 8 years old today and her birthday wish is to finally find a loving family to keep her warm in this cold climate! ❄️

Pepper is a spunky senior spayed female with a love for the simpler things in life: stuffed toys, delicious snacks, and warm blankets!

She is best suited for a home where she can be the only pet. She is wonderful with people and would thrive in a family where she can receive an abundance of attention.

Raise your paw if you want to get adopted! 🙋‍♀️

Zip is almost two years old and has spent a majority of his life in a shelter. Despite this, he remains paw-sitive that his fur-ever home is right around the corner.

Zip is best suited for a single animal home, and is compatible with older children (8 years and up is recommended). He is a master cuddler and will happily show off all of his tricks!

Please share and help us find a home for this wonderful dog!

Today we're putting a spotlight on one of our adoptable pups: Crosby!

Crosby joined us here at Kittery Animal Hospital after his owner passed away. His world was turned upside down and he was afraid and reserved. Slowly he began to open up to our staff and show us small glimpses of his personality.

Over time our staff noticed that Crosby had become very thin. He was lethargic and unwell, and began to shut down once more. We believed that our time with Crosby was limited. There was one more option for us to try; one more medication for us to do a trial with.

One of our staff members took him in as a foster, hoping that she could provide him with a comfortable end of life if the new medication didn't work. She hand fed him, offered him delicious treats and meals, and gave him a warm bed to rest his weary head.

One day, he began to perk up. He began to eat on his own without being enticed and even started to play with other dogs! Slowly but surely he gained his weight back (and even got a little plump).

Crosby will likely need to continue this new medication for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately dogs with long term medical needs are less likely to be adopted simply because of the monetary commitment that an adopter will need to take on. We believe that Crosby's perfect home is out there.

Crosby is compatible with other respectful dogs and cats. He is a low to medium energy dog with a love for comfy beds and delicious snacks. He is crate trained and very food motivated.
