Such a happy Pet Of The Week!! This is Thor, he came in for a wellness exam and vaccines and was just the happiest boy! He was all smiles the entire time. Seeing these happy, smiling dogs and cats is one of our favorite things about our job! We want your pets to feel comfortable while at the vet and we do everything we can to make the experience a positive one!
A few weeks ago our team had CPR training where everyone was educated on proper techniques to ensure we are all comfortable and capable of performing life saving measures for your fur babies. Pets in emergency situations where life saving measures must be taken is an extremely high stress, scary situation for pet owners and it is our responsibility to be able to do everything we can to help.
This training was an excellent way for our staff to actively put our teamwork, our strengths and our knowledge together to perform an amazing demo on how to properly perform these tasks, were this to be an actual patient. We are so proud of our team and for for providing these types of learning experiences to help us better provide for your pets💙💚
Happy Friyay!!
This weeks Pet of The Week is a very special one because one of our most favorite clients added this cutie to their perfect family! Benji is now the younger brother of the best husky in the world, Akira. We have built such a great relationship with them and their dad over the years and are so happy to meet the newest little member! Akira is still warming up to no longer being the only child but we think she’ll come around!💜😍
Friday Pet Of The Week!! This is Arya, a Siamese kitten that came to see us this week for her first kitten visit! She was such a sweetheart and we can’t wait to watch her grow up!!
We will be closed from 12-2pm today for our staff meeting!! If you have an emergency please call Wake Vet Medical Center at 919-266-9852. Otherwise, leave us a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP!!❤️
Some cuties from the past few weeks! What is something you’d like to see more posts of? (Behind the scenes, holiday/seasonal backdrop photos, educational posts, etc)
We cannot get enough of the cute lil faces of your babies!❤️🐾
Friendly reminder😊🎆🇺🇸
We all felt like Megan this Monday😅🍩 Megan was happy to be recovering from her spay with her donut cone!!
Friday Pet of The Week!! This is Bob. Bob has been coming to us for quite a while now and is easily one of the cutest Pomeranians we’ve ever seen. He likes to scream (bark) at us when he’s around his mom to show us how ferocious he can be but behind the scenes he’s the sweetest boy!!😂
Lots of selfies and puppy kisses this week😍😍😘
Happy Wednesday everyone!! Been a little busy here at KAH so posting hasn’t been as frequent as we’d like but we are back on track and are loving these pictures from this week!😍😍
Wednesday shenanigans!! Franklin the Boston Terrier came in all smiles so Amanda and Zack just had to take a picture with him! And Malakai asking very nicely for Gavin to share his breakfast with him😂
We hope everyone had a great day!!
What a fun Saturday with some perfect patients!😍
Dr. D’s daughter got to hangout with us for the morning and she had a blast giving Zoey belly rubs! (Zoey seemed to enjoy it too☺️)
Can we just take a minute and appreciate the cuteness?? Moonpie is our pet of the week this week! Moonpie is a pug puppy whose parents are some of the best people with the biggest hearts. They have been long time clients of ours and just recently welcomed this cutie into their family! We can’t wait to watch you grow, little Moonpie!❤️
Cannot handle the cuteness this week😍😍
Kitten season is our favorite season😻🐈
Happy Mother’s Day to all the human and pet moms out there!💐
Our moms (fur and human) spent Saturday together getting some new tattoos!! Some were in honor of their own mothers and children which made this Mother’s Day weekend extra special. We love spending time together outside of work and love being able to be with eachother for such great memories like getting tattoos that mean so much!!💜
Happy Friday! This weeks Pet of The Week is Violet! Violet came in for a nail trim and while she was the sweetest girl, she was definitely frightened and not wanting her nails cut! We sent home some anxiety medications for her to take prior to her coming back in another day and she did wonderful! She was feeling much calmer and happier and we were able to get all of her nails trimmed up. We were even able to capture this perfect picture of her after her successful trip!
Sometimes it can be scary for your pet to get their nails trimmed and while we always try to get them cut and maintain a fear free, stress free environment, sometimes they need a little extra help. We are always happy to send home medication in order to reduce that anxiety and fear and have them come back to achieve a positive, happy outcome like Violet!
Just want to brag about how amazing these two pups were for their nail trims today! ❤️❤️
River comes in for her nail trim and dremel pretty often and she will just lay on her side and get pets the whole time! She is such a fantastic girl!
Gordie came in today for a quick nail trim and he immediately handed over his paw for us and was a perfect boy!
It is always recommended to play with your puppies paws and ears while they are young to get them used to it and make vet visits less stressful when we do things like nail trims, ear cleanings, etc.
Some behind the scenes pics from the past week! If we borrow your pet to the back to collect samples just know that we are taking a little extra time just to cuddle and give the best ear scratches😂❤️
Pet of the week time!!💕 Miss Maya came to us earlier this week for a routine dental cleaning and was the BEST girl! She got lots of love and cuddles during her recovery from anesthesia before she went home😊
Happy Friday!! This weeks Pet Of The Week goes to Mr. Riley!
Riley is the sweetest black lab that had a significantly large lipoma (benign fatty mass) removed from his side to improve his mobility and overall quality of life! He was getting his staples removed by Dr. Claire and has been doing great! We love Riley!🐾💙
Monday cuties!😍😍 we hope everyone has a great week!
Happy Friday everyone!
Every Friday we will be featuring a pet of the week! This week we have chosen Pumpkin!!🎃
Pumpkin had a front limb amputation done with us about 2 weeks ago and has been coming in for follow ups to make sure everything is healing smoothly. She has become a regular here at KAH these past few weeks and we all love getting to cuddle here while she’s with us!🧡 she is doing fantastic!
Now this is a face of a pup that regrets (or doesn’t regret😂) her decisions!!
Quinn is our very own Dr. Preston’s dog who decided to steal some grapes from her little human sister this morning! Grapes are TOXIC to dogs and they should receive immediate medical attention upon ingestion. Dr. Preston brought Miss Quinn to us on her day off so we could induce vomiting, check bloodwork and get her on some IV fluids for the day! Luckily she vomited up all the grapes and is doing great.
This is just a reminder that these things happen to our own pets in Vet Med too! Things like grapes, raisins, onions, and chocolate could lead to very serious issues if your dog eats them so be sure to call your vet right away if you know they’ve eaten something they shouldn’t have!

August 15th is "Check the Chip day." Do you know the importance of microchipping your pet(s)? Did you know that having a microchip doubles the chance of your lost dog being returned home and increases your cat’s chance of making it home more than 20-fold. Watch the video below to learn more about why microchips are important and how they can help you and your pet(s). If your pet is not currently microchipped please call us to schedule microchipping your pet(s). Also a friendly reminder to those owners whose pets are microchipped to make sure they are updated with your current information and showing in the manufactor's database. AAHA’s Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool (http://www.petmicrochiplookup.org/) is linked to the registries of the majority of microchip manufacturers and allows a quick database search of any microchip made by these manufacturers.
